Introduction: Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is widely used for the noninvasive activation of neurons in the human brain. It utilizes a pulsed magnetic field to induce electric pulses that act on the central nervous system, altering the membrane potential of nerve cells in the cerebral cortex to treat certain mental diseases. However, the effectiveness of TMS can be compromised by significant heat generation and the clicking noise produced by the pulse in the TMS coil.

Introduction: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a rare, devastating neurodegenerative disease that affects upper and lower motor neurons, resulting in muscle atrophy, spasticity, hyperreflexia, and paralysis. Inflammation plays an important role in the development of ALS, and associated with rapid disease progression. Current observational studies indicate the thinning of cortical thickness in patients with ALS is associated with rapid disease progression and cognitive changes.

Mild cognitive impairment in Parkinson's disease (PD-MCI) as an independent risk factor for dementia in Parkinson's disease has prognostic value in predicting dementia in PD patients. It was found that the calculation of cognitive function decision-making could better evaluate the cognitive function of PD-MCI. Therefore, this study explored deficits in decision-making cognitive function in PD-MCI population, and mined novel digital biomarkers for recognizing early cognitive decline in PD-MCI through an independently designed maze decision-making digital assessment paradigm.

Background: Electrically evoked compound action potential (ECAP) can be used to measure the auditory nerve's response to electrical stimulation in cochlear implant (CI) users. In the Nurotron CI system, extracting the ECAP waveform from the stimulus artifact is time-consuming.
Method: We developed a new paradigm ("FastCAP") for use with Nurotron CI devices.

Objective: To explore the effects of donor sperm on reproductive quality of life, sleep quality and erectile function in patients with severe oligoasthenospermia after the failure of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and to provide targeted reference for intervention.
Methods: From January 2021 to December 2023, patients with severe oligoasthenospermia who received assisted pregnancy treatment in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University were selected as the study objects. Among them, 82 cases using sperm donor assisted pregnancy after ICSI failure were set as the observation group, and 82 cases using propensity score 1:1 matching ICSI failure after ICSI assisted pregnancy were set as the control group.

The development of advanced models for assessing liver toxicity and drug responses is crucial for personalized medicine and preclinical drug development. 3D bioprinting technology provides opportunities to create human liver models that are suitable for conducting high-throughput screening for liver toxicity. In this study, we fabricated a humanized liver model using human-induced hepatocytes (hiHeps) derived from human fibroblasts via a rapid and efficient reprogramming process.

Background: Superior labrum anterior-posterior (SLAP) lesions are common shoulder injuries. The 10-type classification system has been widely used to diagnose SLAP lesions since it was proposed. However, growing evidence from arthroscopic studies indicates the existence of many SLAP lesions, especially those associated with superior glenoid humeral ligament (SGHL) injuries, that were not included in the initial classification.

Background: The hippocampus has been widely reported to be involved in the neuropathology of major depressive disorder (MDD). All the previous researches adopted group-level hippocampus subregions atlas to investigate abnormal functional connectivities in MDD in absence of capturing individual variability. In addition, the molecular basis of functional impairments of hippocampal subregions in MDD remains elusive.

Aim: This study examined the mediating role of resilience and the moderating role of grip strength (handgrip) in the relationship between mindfulness and non-restorative sleep (NRS) and evaluated the non-linear association between mindfulness and NRS among university freshmen students.
Design: This is a cross-sectional descriptive study.
Method: A total of 384 university students were recruited from Be Resilient to Nursing Career (BRNC) from two universities in June 2022.

Aim: This paper aims to investigate the relationship between social support and rural teachers' work engagement while exploring the mediating effect of mindfulness in teaching and the moderating effect of psychological safety.
Methods: A sample of 866 rural teachers was recruited, in order to complete the Mindfulness in Teaching Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, Psychological Safety Scale, and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale.
Results: The study findings indicate that: (1) social support positively influenced the work engagement of rural teachers; (2) further, mindfulness in teaching partially mediated the effect of social support on rural teachers' work engagement; (3) psychological safety moderated the second half of the pathway of "social support → mindfulness in teaching → work engagement" while the positive correlation between mindfulness in teaching and work engagement was stronger among rural teachers with high psychological safety.

How do leaders' responses to the digital era affect new generation employees' affective commitment? As digital leaders have led to new ways of distributing digital resources and building virtual relationships, employees are facing a shift in the way of interaction, which influences their affective response to organizations. This study aims to understand how digital leaders interact with new generation employees to influence changes in employees' affective commitment to organizations. We have developed a chain mediating model and tested it on data collected from 408 new generation employees working in China.

Freshmen often encounter significant challenges in adapting to the complexity of university-level mathematics and independent learning. These challenges necessitate the development of strong self-regulated learning (SRL) skills to successfully navigate the demands of higher education. Building on mindset theory, this study explores how mathematical mindset-oriented interventions can support freshmen's mathematics learning during their transition to higher education mathematics, particularly in an online setting.

This study investigates how lower-level English language learners achieve and maintain intersubjectivity and navigate through co-constructed framings during context-embedded tasks such as improvised role-play. In language education settings, activities associated with interactions often reflect multi-layered participant orientations beyond mere linguistic execution. From the perspectives of ethnomethodology and conversation analysis, linguistic actions are effective only when they are intersubjectively understood: the complexity of an activity necessitates corresponding levels of intersubjectivity for smooth progression.

Introduction: Art college students are under special pressure from a few sources, including study, employment, friends, emotions, family relations and other aspects. This can lead to a reasonable degree of learning burnout among art college students, which will have a negative impact on their physical and mental health, as well as their study and employment. However, there is a paucity of empirical studies on learning burnout among art students.
