Background: The empathy of rural-oriented tuition-waived medical students (RTMSs) is closely related to the construction of good doctor-patient relationship and the quality of rural medical and health services. The purpose of this study is not only to explore the relationship between self-efficacy, learning burnout, willingness to fulfill the contract and empathy, but also to explore the mediating role of self-efficacy between learning burnout and empathy, and between willingness to fulfill the contract and empathy.
Methods: Four hundred ninety-five rural-oriented tuition-waived medical students from 3 medical universities in Shandong Province were selected as research subjects, and General self-efficacy scale (GSES), Learning burnout of university student (LBUS), Willingness to fulfill the contract scale and Jefferson Scale of Physician Empathy-student version (JSPE-S) were used to investigate.

Network pharmacology plays a pivotal role in systems biology, bridging the gap between traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) theory and contemporary pharmacological research. Network pharmacology enables researchers to construct multilayered networks that systematically elucidate TCM's multi-component, multi-target mechanisms of action. This review summarizes key databases commonly used in network pharmacology, including those focused on herbs, components, diseases, and dedicated platforms for network pharmacology analysis.

Drug-target interactions (DTIs) are pivotal in drug discovery and development, and their accurate identification can significantly expedite the process. Numerous DTI prediction methods have emerged, yet many fail to fully harness the feature information of drugs and targets or address the issue of feature redundancy. We aim to refine DTI prediction accuracy by eliminating redundant features and capitalizing on the node topological structure to enhance feature extraction.

Electrocatalytic oxidation of cyclohexanol/cyclohexanonein water provides a promising strategy for obtaining adipic acid (AA), which is an essential feedstock in the polymer industry. However, this process is impeded by slow kinetics and limited Faradaic efficiency (FE) due to a poor understanding of the reaction mechanism. Herein, NiCo2O4/CeO2 is developed to enable the electrooxidation of cyclohexanol to AA with a 0.

Electrically conductive coordination polymers (ECCPs), particularly those incorporating benzenehexathiol (BHT) ligands, are emerging as a distinctive class of electronic materials with tunable semiconducting and metallic properties. However, the exploration of novel ECCPs with low-symmetry structures and electrical anisotropy remains under development. Here, we report the on-water surface synthesis of a novel ECCP, namely Cu5BHT, which exhibits a low-symmetry structure and unique in-plane electrical anisotropy that differs from the well-known Cu3BHT phase.

The plastic waste accumulation requires facile yet effective solutions. Currently mechanical recycling typically leads to downcycling, while the environmental footprint of chemical recycling is often unacceptable. Here, we introduce a dual circularity concept, where rational molecular design paves the way for complementary closed-loop mechanical and chemical recyclability under mild conditions.

These innovative drugs target multiple cellular or molecular pathways simultaneously, offering a more comprehensive anticancer approach and addressing some of the limitations inherent in traditional monotherapies. However, preclinical assessment of multispecific drugs remains challenging, as conventional tumor models often lack the necessary complexity to accurately reflect the interactions between various cell types and targets.

Hydroxy radical (•OH) is a prestigious oxidant that allows the cleavage of strong chemical bonds of methane but is untamed, leading to over-oxidation of methane and waste of oxidants, especially at high methane conversion. Here, we managed to buffer •OH in an aqueous solution of photo-irradiated Fe3+, where •OH almost participates in methane oxidation. Due to the interaction between Fe3+ and SO42-, the electron transfer from OH- to excited-state Fe3+ for •OH generation is retarded, while excessive •OH is consumed by generated Fe2+ to restore Fe3+.

In this study, we developed new chiral hybrid perovskites, (R/S-MBA)(GA)PbI4, by incorporating achiral guanidinium (GA+) and chiral R/S-methylbenzylammonium (R/S-MBA+) into the perovskite framework. The resulting materials possess a distinctive structural configuration, positioned between 1D and 2D perovskites, which we describe as 1.5D.

Immobilizing organic chromophores within the rigid framework of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) augments fluorescence by effectively curtailing molecular motions. Yet, the substantial interspaces and free volumes inherent to MOFs can undermine photoluminescence efficiency, as they partially constrain intramolecular dynamics. In this study, we achieved optimization of both one- and two-photon excited fluorescence by incorporating linkers into an interpenetrated tetraphenylethene-based MOF (TPE-MOF).

Mitophagy that disrupt mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), represents a critical focus in pharmacology. However, the discovery and evaluation of MMP-disrupting drugs are often hampered using commercially available marker molecules that target similar or identical zones. These markers can significantly interfere with, obscure, or amplify the functional effects of MMP-targeting drugs, frequently leading to clinical failures.

A pyrrole-fused analogue of warped nanographene, designated as deca-nitrogen doped 'WNG' (azaWNG), was synthesized through the annular fusion of decapyrroylcorannulene. The resulting azaWNG exhibited extremely limited solubility in common organic solvents and was characterized solely by mass spectrometry. Theoretical calculations revealed that azaWNG has a sunflower-like molecular structure with electron-deficient corannulene as the core and electron-rich pyrrole as the petals, demonstrating a significantly narrower energy gap compared to all-carbon WNG.

Efficient circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) optical waveguides have significant potential for advancing photonic and optoelectronic devices. However, the development of CPL optical waveguides materials (OWMs) with low optical loss coefficient remains a considerable challenge. To overcome this, we design and synthesize CPL OWMs based on room-temperature phosphorescent liquid crystalline polymers (LCPs).

Efficient enantioselective separation is a critical process in pharmaceutical and chemical industries for the production of chiral compounds. Herein, we developed a novel approach for the efficient enantioselective separation of primary amines using supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) with a commercially available SFC column, Cel1. The key factors of separation, including cosolvent ratios, total cosolvent percentages, and temperature, were systematically assessed in this study.

Neurotransmitters are increasingly recognized to play important roles in limiting anti-tumor immunity. N-acetyl-aspartyl-glutamate (NAAG) has been extensively studied in neurological disorders; however, its potential role in restricting anti-tumor immunity has not been investigated. Here, we demonstrated that NAAG or its synthetase RimK-like family member B (RIMKLB) significantly disrupted anti-tumor immunity by rewiring the myeloid progenitor differentiation of polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (PMN-MDSCs), which in turn promoted breast cancer growth and metastasis.

Background: Sample preparation can be a critical stage of analytical procedures that profoundly influences their performance, environmental impact, and overall efficiency. While nanomaterials have revolutionized sample preparation owing to their high surface area-to-volume ratios, tunable surface chemistry, and enhanced adsorption capacities, limitations persist. Researchers have ushered in a new era of efficient sample preparation methodologies that could overcome the limitations of nanomaterials by introducing deep eutectic solvents (DESs), which have unique advantages such as low volatility and toxicity, biodegradability, and tunability.
