In the past two decades, organic solar cells (OSCs) have begun to attract attention as the efficiency of inorganic solar cells gradually approaches the theoretical limit. In the early development stage of OSCs, p-type conjugated polymers and n-type fullerene derivatives were the most commonly used electron donors and acceptors. However, with further research, the shortcomings of fullerene materials have become increasingly apparent.

Corn stover was used as raw material, and purification, oxalic acid treatment, oxidation treatment, and ultrasonic treatment were performed to realize the preparation of corn stover nanocellulose with low energy consumption. The effects of oxalic acid concentration (1 wt%, 2 wt%, 3 wt%, 4 wt%, and 5 wt%) on the purity, morphology, crystalline structure and oxidation efficiency of corn stover cellulose during oxalic acid treatment were investigated. The controllable preparation of corn stover nanocellulose was achieved by changing the parameter conditions of ultrasonic treatment.

Synergistic effect of scattered rare metals on Pt/CeO for propane oxidative dehydrogenation with CO.

RSC Adv

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Solidification Processing, Center for Nano Energy Materials, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), Shaanxi Joint Laboratory of Graphene Xi'an 710072 China

The oxidative dehydrogenation of propane with CO (CO-ODP) is a green industrial process for producing propene. Cerium oxide-supported platinum-based (Pt/CeO) catalysts exhibit remarkable reactivity toward propane and CO due to the unique delicate balance of C-H and C[double bond, length as m-dash]O bond activation. However, the simultaneous activation and cleavage of C-H, C-C, and C-O bonds on Pt/CeO-based catalysts may substantially impede the selective activation of C-H bonds during the CO-ODP process.

Int J Nanomedicine

January 2025

Department of Ultrasound, The second People's Hospital of Shenzhen, The First Affiliated Hospital of Shenzhen University, Shenzhen, 518061, People's Republic of China.

Purpose: Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant tumor of the bone. However, there is a lack of effective means for early diagnosis due to the heterogeneity of tumors and the complexity of tumor microenvironment. αvβ3 integrin, a crucial role in the growth and spread of tumors, is not only an effective biomarker for cancer angiogenesis, but also highly expressed in many tumor cells.

The protective effect of zinc oxide nanoparticles on boar sperm during preservation at 17 °C.

Anim Reprod

January 2025

Hebei Key Laboratory of Animal Diversity, College of Life Sciences, Langfang Normal University, Hebei Langfang, China.

More than 90% of spermatozoa of boars in pork producing countries is stored in liquid at 17 °C; however, the quality of these spermatozoa is affected by bacterial breeding and oxidative damage. This study analyzed sperm quality and sperm capacitation after storage to study the effects of the effects of ZnO nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) supplementation on seminal plasma (SP)-free sperm preservation. We investigated the effects of adding 20, 50, 100 and 200 μg/mL of ZnO NPs to a seminal free boar sperm diluent over a 7-day period at 17 °C to assess the changes in non-capacitated/capacitated sperm quality parameters, antioxidant capacity, ATP content and extent of protein tyrosine phosphorylation.

Background: Rapid and accurate identification of causative organisms and prompt initiation of pathogen-targeted antibiotics are crucial for managing atypical pneumonia. The widespread application of targeted next-generation sequencing (t-NGS) in clinical practice demonstrates significant targeted advantages in rapid and accurate aetiological identification and antimicrobial resistance genes detection, particularly for difficult-to-culture, rare, or unexpected pathogens. An alarming surge of acquired macrolide resistance (MR) in (MP) presents a substantial challenge for the clinical selection of pathogen-targeted antibiotics worldwide, especially for fluoroquinolone-restricted pediatric patients with limited options available.
