DNA methylation plays a critical role in gene regulation, affecting cellular differentiation and disease progression, particularly in non-coding regions. However, predicting the epigenetic consequences of non-coding mutations at single-cell resolution remains a challenge. Existing tools have limited prediction capacity and struggle to capture dynamic, cell-type-specific regulatory changes that are crucial for understanding disease mechanisms.

Broadband near-infrared (NIR) fiber arrays are highly desirable for multiplexed fluorescence endoscopic, however, there is a challenge for the development of miniature light sources with highly efficient broadband NIR emissions. Here the synthesis of a MgAlO:Cr nanocrystal-glass composite (NGC) with an Cr-clusters-induced broadband NIR emission possessing is presented and external quantum efficiency of 44% and a full width at half maximum of 297 nm, and the NGC fiber is further fabricated through a template solidification strategy, resulting in the construction of an all-fiber coupling system by fusing them with commercial quartz fiber that achieves an optical coupling efficiency of 95.2%.

Functional polymeric nanoparticles, especially those with anisotropic structures, have shown significant potential and advantages in biomedical applications including detecting, bioimaging, antimicrobial and anticancer. Herein, tetraphenylethylene (TPE) and azobenzene modified polypeptides of poly((-glutamic acid) tetraphenylethylene-stat-(-glutamic acid)) (P(GATPE-stat-GA)) and poly((-glutamic acid) azobenzene-stat-(-glutamic acid)) (P(GAAzo-stat-GA) are synthesized, which self-assemble into bowl-shaped nanoparticles (BNPs) with controlled diameter, opening size and fluorescent property individually, or by co-assembly. Due to the quenching effect of azobenzene, the fluorescence of the coassembled BNPs is completely inhibited.

Weak dipole interactions between highly symmetric H2O molecules and SO42- species are the root cause of unstable electric double layer (EDL), which triggers the hydrogen evolution reaction and Zn dendrite formation, significantly impeding the commercialization of aqueous zinc-ion batteries. Herein, we designed a microscopic split-phase interface (MSPI) by dual breaking of electron cloud and space structure symmetry to suppress interfacial side reactions and achieve uniform Zn deposition. The structurally asymmetric methylurea (MU) molecules possess both hydrophobic methyl and hydrophilic amino groups, which disrupt the continuity of H-bonding network and the aggregation state of H2O molecules, resulting in peculiar nanoscale core-shell-like clusters.

Carbon black has been extensively employed as the support for noble metal catalysts for electrocatalysis applications. However, the nearly catalytic inertness and weak interaction with metal species of carbon black are two major obstacles that hinder the further improvement of the catalytic performance. Herein, we report a surface functionalization strategy by decorating transition metal oxide clusters on the commercial carbon black to offer specific catalytic activity and enhanced interaction with metal species.

Localized high-concentration electrolytes (LHCEs) exhibit good performance in lithium metal batteries. However, understanding how the intermolecular interactions between solvents and diluents regulate the solvation structure and interfacial layer structure remains limited. Here, we reported an LHCE in which strong hydrogen bonding between diluents and solvents alters the conformation and polarity of "flexible" solvent molecules, thereby effectively regulating the solvation structure of Li+ ion and promoting the formation of robust electrode interfaces.

MXene, a two-dimensional nanomaterial, has metal conductivity, high electronegativity, functionalized with surface groups, which makes them has wide applications in catalysis and biosensing. However, studies on the principle of enhanced electro-chemiluminescence (ECL) by MXene composites and the improvement of their performance in catalyzing the ECL reaction are still in their infancy. In this study, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) are obtained by mild reductive reduction and loaded in situ on the Ti3C2Tx MXene surface to form the composites (AuNPs@MXene).

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are a new type of porous organic crystalline material, which have become an emerging platform for promoting the development of green energy technology due to their high surface area, adjustable pores, low skeleton density, and easy functionalization. In recent years, with the continuous advancement of synthesis technology, the synthesis efficiency and sustainability of COFs have been significantly improved, from traditional solvothermal methods to the emergence of various green synthesis strategies such as ion thermal, mechanochemical, and ultrasound assisted methods. This article reviews the main synthesis methods of COFs and explores their applications in the field of green energy, such as photocatalysis, gas adsorption and separation, electrocatalysis, battery, supercapacitor and Proton exchange membrane fuel cell.

Photocatalytic chemical transformations for green organic synthesis has attracted much interest. However, their development is greatly hampered by the lack of sufficient reactive sites on the photocatalyst surface for the adsorption and activation of substrate molecules. Herein, we demonstrate that the introduction of well-defined Lewis and Brønsted acid sites coexisting on the surface of TiO2 (SO42-/N-TiO2) creates abundant active adsorption sites for photoredox reactions.

In this study, thiolated sodium alginate (SA) and hydrophilic, polymerizable Janus-type polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (AS-POSS) are synthesized by introducing thiol and sulfonic acid groups, respectively. A series of pH-responsive SA/PEGDA/AS-POSS nanocomposite hydrogels are successfully prepared through Michael addition reactions between the thiol groups of thiolated sodium alginate and the double bonds in the molecular chains of AS-POSS and poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA). This reaction proceeds rapidly under physiological conditions without requiring initiators or catalysts.

All-solid-state polymer electrolytes are promising for lithium batteries, but Li+ transport in these electrolytes relies on amorphous chain segment movement, leading to low Li+ mobility and poor mechanical strength. Here we propose a novel Li+ transport mechanism mediated by PEO3:LiBF4 nanocrystals (NCPB) with the aggregate (AGG) anionic structure, which enables a change from amorphous to crystalline phase dominated ion transport in all-solid-state PEO/LiBF4 electrolyte. Experiments and simulations reveal that the interaction between Li+ and F in NCPB with AGG anionic structure simultaneously restricts anion transport and reorients anions within the free volume of NCPB, resulting in a three-coordination intermediate to facilitate Li+ transport.

In this work, we prepared a novel donor-π-acceptor (D-π-A) molecular PCZ-P-PY using pyrene as a bridge to construct hybrid local and charge-transfer (HLCT) state with weak charge-transfer (CT) property. This excited state design give rise to the high photoluminescent quantum yield (PLQY), more importantly, it is also responsible for the high exciton utilization efficiency (EUE) by constructing efficient hot-exciton channel.

The development of advanced catalysts frequently employs trial-and-error methods and is lack of highly controlled synthesis, resulting in unsatisfactory development efficiency and performance. Here we propose a data-driven prediction coupled with precise synthesis strategy to accelerate the development of single-atom catalysts (SACs) for efficient water purification. The data-driven approach enables the rapid screening and prediction of high-performance SACs from 43 metals-N4 structures comprising transition and main group metal elements, followed by validation and structural modulation for improved performance through a highly controllable hard-template method.

Lysosome-targeting chimeras (LYTACs) have recently emerged as a promising therapeutic strategy for degrading extracellular and membrane-associated pathogenic proteins by hijacking lysosome-targeting receptors. However, the antitumor performance of LYTAC is limited by its insufficient tumor accumulation and nonspecific activation. Additionally, the synergistic effects of LYTACs and other therapeutic modalities are crucial.
