Objectives: The primary objective of this study is to ascertain the levels of osteoprotegerin (OPG) and osteopontin (OPN), alongside osteoprotegerin/RANKL ratio (ORR), and assess their association with the SYNTAX score and ascertain the potential of these molecules as predictive markers for risk, aiding in risk stratification. Eventually, they could potentially be employed even before angiography to gauge the severity of coronary lesions.
Methods: Prospective study with 147 participants, 101 (69%) were men, with an average age of 60.

How primary carers, physicians, health education professionals, and others see or understand the subject of menstruation in women with intellectual disability (ID) is rooted in the socio-cultural context and in the socio-economic structures in which all of them live. The aim of this study was to explore how parents of young females with ID and special education professionals perceive and experience menstrual hygiene management, which coping strategies are applied; and what triggers the performance of a hysterectomy. A qualitative focus group study design was conducted with 69 parents and 11 special education professionals, in 14 schools and one Down syndrome clinic, in Mexico City.

Multiple myeloma (MM) patients initially respond to conventional therapy, however, many develop resistance and have recurrences. We have reported in other tumors that the transcription factor Yin Yang 1 (YY1) is a resistant factor and, thus, we hypothesized that YY1 may be over-expressed in MM. Significantly, higher expression (staining intensity and cell frequency) of YY1 in MM cell lines and in bone marrow-derived (BM) MM from 22 MM patients was observed as compared to expression in normal BM.
