Background And Objective: The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) - cerebellum circuit has been implicated in the pathogenesis of negative symptoms of schizophrenia (SZ). Both areas are considered separate targets for repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) treatment, showing potential for improving negative symptoms. However, there is still a lack of research that targets both DLPFC and cerebellum simultaneously.

Numerous studies have investigated the relationship between mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) copy number and Sjögren syndrome (SS). However, the conclusions remain inconclusive, with conflicting findings. The genome-wide association study summary statistics for mtDNA copy number were obtained from 2 sources: a cohort of 465,809 White individuals from the Cohorts for Heart and Aging Research in Genomic Epidemiology consortium and the UK Biobank, and a dataset of 395,718 UK Biobank participants.

Type I collagen, a crucial component maintaining the structural integrity and physiological function of various tissues, is widely regarded as one of the most suitable biomaterials for healthcare applications. In this study, shad scales, used for treating ulcers, scalds, and burns in traditional Chinese medicine, were exploited for type I collagen extraction. After self-assembly into hydrogels, the extracted collagen was subsequently freeze-dried to form collagen sponges.

Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) continues to stand as a primary option for treating unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the increased tumor hypoxia and acidification will lead to the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) featuring exhausted T cells, limiting the effectiveness of subsequent therapies following TACE. Herein, a stable water-in-oil lipiodol Pickering emulsion by employing calcium phosphate nanoparticles (CaP NPs) as stabilizers is developed and used to encapsulate L-arginine (L-Arg), which is known for its ability to modulate T-cell metabolism.

Background: The mutation status of epidermal growth factor receptor () in lung adenocarcinoma is significantly associated with postoperative progression-free survival. Computed tomography (CT)-based radiomics analysis may have potential value in predicting mutation status. This study aims to explore the predictive capacity of radiomics analysis for mutation status in lung adenocarcinomas presenting as ground-glass nodules (GGNs).

Background: The increasing utilization of computed tomography (CT) scans has significantly elevated the detection rate of pulmonary nodules. Pulmonary segmentectomy has become the preferred surgical technique for peripheral non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) measuring 2 cm or smaller. Various methods for identifying the intersegmental planes (ISPs) are currently employed.

Sleeve lobectomy has solidified its position as a preferred alternative to pneumonectomy due to its significant advantage in preserving lung function, whereas right lower lobe sleeve lobectomy remains relatively uncommon because of the higher technical challenge. With the development of minimally invasive technology and experience acquired over the years, robot-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (RATS) has shown progress and distinct advantages compared to the traditional thoracotomy and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) approach. Owing to its 3D vision, bendable wrist joints, and tremor filtration capabilities, this surgical technique exhibits great advantages in complex thoracic operations demanding for reconstructive procedures compared to traditional thoracoscopic surgery.

Objective: Elevated serum pentraxin-3 levels are generally considered a risk factor for atherosclerosis. However, there is limited data on the relationship between pentraxin-3 and cerebral infarction (CI) accompanied by intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS). This study aims to investigate the association between pentraxin-3 (PTX-3) and short-term recurrence in cerebral infarction caused by ICAS patients within one year.

Objective: Kawasaki disease (KD) is an acute vasculitis that typically occurs in young children and may lead to coronary artery lesions (CALs), but the precise mechanisms that trigger this illness are unclear. We hope to identify some clues to the pathogenesis of KD through clinical sample analysis.
Methods: We included 12 children who had been diagnosed with KD coronary artery lesions (KD-CALs) or KD-no coronary artery lesions (KD-nCALs) and investigated the transcriptome variations of patients with KD in the acute and subacute stages.

Background: Recent studies have reported that perioperative nursing intervention (PNI) plays important roles in the outcomes of prostate cancer (PC) patients undergoing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP). This study aimed to further investigate the role of educational nursing intervention in PNI on the recovery of PC patients with LRP.
Methods: A total of 98 PC patients who underwent LRP were enrolled in this study.

Immunotherapy has made progress in the treatment of tumours; however, in patients with pancreatic cancer, immunotherapy has not achieved effective results. The present study investigated changes in the immune microenvironment during tumour development and progression, and the relationship between the immune microenvironment and prognosis, to clarify the mechanism of immune escape in pancreatic cancer. A total of 40 patients with pancreatic cancer (including 22 with stage I-II disease and 18 with stage III-IV disease) and 20 patients with chronic pancreatitis were included in the present study.

Background: The status of vitamin D has been proposed to have an impact on cognition. Gray matter volume (GMV) is a potential marker of cognitive function. We investigated whether lower serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D level was associated with reduced cerebral GMV in Parkinson's disease with non-dementia (PDND) patients.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have changed the treatment landscape for patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). In spite of durable responses in some patients, many patients develop early disease progression during the ICI treatment. Thus, early identification of patients with no durable benefit would facilitate the clinical decision for these patients.

Cancer treatment faces significant challenges including inadequate tumor specificity, drug resistance, and severe side effects, often resulting in unsatisfactory patient outcomes. Nanomedicines offer a transformative platform for tumor-targeted drug delivery and antitumor potency activation, providing an indispensable strategy for overcoming the severe damage to normal tissues caused by the inherent "always-on" cytotoxicity of conventional therapeutic agents. This review focuses on the emerging concept of "nanoparticle-enabled in situ drug potency activation", where inactive or minimally toxic agents are selectively activated within tumors to enhance the therapeutic efficacy and minimize the adverse effects.

Radiotherapy (RT) can trigger immunogenic cell death (ICD) in tumor cells and release adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to activate antitumor immunity. However, the formation of immunosuppressive adenosine (ADO) mediated by ectonucleotidases including CD39 and CD73, can exacerbate the immunosuppressive effects. Herein, a radiosensitizer-based metal-organic framework (MOF) composed of bismuth (Bi) and ellagic acid (EA) was synthesized in situ on the surface of Escherichia coli Nissle 1917 (EcN) to serve as a carrier for the CD39 inhibitor sodium polyoxotungstate (POM-1).

Kawasaki disease (KD), characterized by systematic vasculitis, is a leading cause of pediatric heart disease. Although recent studies have highlighted the critical role of deubiquitinases in vascular pathophysiology, their specific contribution to KD remains largely unknown. Herein, we investigated the function of the deubiquitinase USP7 in both KD patients and a CAWS-induced KD murine model.

Purpose: The study aims to investigate the absorption, metabolism, and excretion of donafenib, a deuterated derivative of sorafenib, in healthy Chinese male volunteers.
Methods: Six healthy Chinese male volunteers were administered a single oral dose of 300 mg donafenib containing 120 µCi of [14 C]-donafenib. The study involved collecting and analyzing plasma, urine, and feces samples to determine the recovery and distribution of total radioactivity, identify metabolites, and assess the metabolic pathways of donafenib.
