Adrenal diseases pose significant diagnostic challenges due to the wide range of neoplastic and non-neoplastic pathologies. Radiologists have a crucial role in diagnosing and managing these conditions by, leveraging advanced imaging techniques. This review discusses the vital role of computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and nuclear medicine in adrenal imaging, and focuses on morphological and functional evaluations.

Three-dimensional (3D) printing is an advanced technology for accurately understanding anatomy and supporting the successful surgical management of complex congenital heart disease (CHD). We aimed to evaluate whether our super-flexible 3D heart models could facilitate preoperative decision-making and surgical simulation for complex CHD. The super-flexible heart models were fabricated by stereolithography 3D printing of the internal and external contours of the heart from cardiac computed tomography (CT) data, followed by vacuum casting with a polyurethane material similar in elasticity to a child's heart.

Background: Recurrent cases of spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma are rare, and there are no reports of spontaneous resolution and recurrence in toddlers.
Case Presentation: We present a case of a toddler with a cervical spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma, characterized by three episodes of sudden-onset transient torticollis with subsequent natural recovery. The patient was referred to our hospital after the second episode, during which symptoms were already improving.

Introduction: This report describes a case with an ectopic ejaculatory duct opening into the bladder trigone in Zinner syndrome, congenital unilateral renal agenesis, and an ipsilateral seminal vesicle cyst.
Case Presentation: The patient was identified when no left kidney was detected in the fetal period. Abdominal ultrasonography and pelvic plain MRI at 6 months old revealed a 10-mm cystic lesion on the dorsal aspect of the bladder.

Endoscopic third ventriculostomy (ETV) is a safe treatment option for chronic obstructive hydrocephalus. However, we encountered a case of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) with bilateral large hematoma volumes after ETV for chronic obstructive hydrocephalus. We herein report a rare complication of ETV.

Transurethral procedures such as direct vision internal urethrotomy and urethral dilation have been the traditional treatments for urethral strictures. However, transurethral procedures are associated with high recurrence rates, resulting in many uncured cases and prompting major international urological societies to recommend urethroplasty as the standard treatment owing to its high success rate. In contrast, many Japanese general urologists have little doubts about treating urethral strictures with transurethral treatment.

Lymphoepithelial carcinoma (LEC) is an uncommon neoplasm strongly associated with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). LEC of the salivary glands (LECSG) is very rare: the most commonly affected site is the parotid gland, followed by the submandibular gland. This report describes the case of a 58-year-old man who presented with a left submandibular mass that had gradually increased in size over five years.

Pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS) is a serious complication of catheter ablation (CA) for atrial fibrillation (AF). PVS generally occurs several months after CA and presents with non-specific symptoms and imaging findings. There have been reports of delayed diagnoses due to a misdiagnosis as infection, interstitial pneumonia, or organizing pneumonia.

Pathological conditions in cochlea, such as ototoxicity, acoustic trauma, and age-related cochlear degeneration, induce cell death in the organ of Corti and degeneration of the spiral ganglion neurons (SGNs). Although macrophages play an essential role after cochlear injury, its role in the SGNs is limitedly understood. We analyzed the status of macrophage activation and neuronal damage in the spiral ganglion after kanamycin-induced unilateral hearing loss in mice.

Background: Infection by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) can lead not only to respiratory symptoms but also to neurologic symptoms with various levels of severity. After the worldwide prevalence of Omicron variant, severe neurological manifestations of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) such as febrile seizure, demyelinating disease, and cerebrovascular disease, have been reported. However, reports of acute encephalopathy in patients with COVID-19 are quite limited.

Chordomas are rare, locally aggressive, primary bone tumors derived from primitive notochord remnants. They almost always arise within the axial skeleton, particularly in the skull base and the sacrococcygeal region. They usually present as extradural tumors, but rarely, they present as entirely intradural tumors.

The post-surgical fluid leakage from the tubular tissues is a critical symptom after gastrointestinal or urinary tract surgeries. Elucidating the mechanism for such abnormalities is vital in surgical and medical science. The exposure of the fluid such as peritonitis due to urinary or gastrointestinal perforation has been reported to induce severe inflammation to the surrounding tissue.

True thymic hyperplasia is defined as an increase in both the size and weight of the gland, while maintaining a normal microscopic architecture. Massive true thymic hyperplasia is a rare type of hyperplasia that compresses adjacent structures and causes various symptoms. Limited reports address the imaging findings of massive true thymic hyperplasia.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) due to rhabdomyolysis occurs because of renal ischemia or acute tubular necrosis due to the deposition of myoglobin casts in the renal tubules. Donors with AKI due to rhabdomyolysis are not contraindication for transplantation. However, the dark red kidney raises concerns about renal hypofunction or primary nonfunction after transplantation.

Purpose: Sparse published reports exist nowadays on vibegron and pediatric overactive bladder, so its usefulness of this agent remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to clarify the effectiveness of vibegron for pediatric cases of daytime urinary incontinence (DUI), including refractory cases.
Methods: Participants comprised 57 patients treated with vibegron for DUI from March 2019 to April 2022.

Background: Patients with ornithine transcarbamylase deficiency (OTCD) often present with severe hyperammonaemia. We report a case of osmotic demyelination syndrome (ODS) secondary to the treatment of hyperammonaemia due to OTCD, a disease requiring early diagnosis, as it can have a severe prognosis.
Case: A girl toddler was brought to the hospital with a complaint of somnolence, presenting with hyperammonaemia and liver failure, and was diagnosed with OTCD.

In this article we explain in detail the Multidirectional Cranial Distraction Osteogenesis(MCDO)procedure for treating craniosynostosis, in which the multiple cranial bone flaps are pulled up in different directions by the external distractor with the helmet-type frame. MCDO has several advantages over conventional procedures such as unilateral cranial distraction osteogenesis(UCDO). First, the design of the osteotomy in MCDO is flexible depending on the deformities.

Germinoma is a rare CNS germ cell tumor preferentially affecting children and young adults. Intracranial germinomas arise typically in the neurohypophysis and pineal region and occasionally in the basal ganglia and thalamus. Germinomas in the basal ganglia and thalamus are characterized by the ipsilateral cerebral and brainstem hemiatrophy with slowly progressive neurological deficits, which is due to tumor infiltration into the thalamocortical and corticospinal tract and induction of anterograde and retrograde Wallerian degeneration.
