[Establishing reference ranges of serum vitamin K in healthy children].

To establish and validate reference intervals of serum vitamin K for healthy children in China. A cross-sectional study was conducted from January 2020 to May 2023, involving 807 healthy children aged 0 to 14 years, selected by stratified random sampling based on the population distribution of children in eastern, central, western, and northeastern China. Sample collection was carried out in 16 hospitals across 12 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities.

Minimally invasive techniques utilizing the "Joy Stick" method for managing irreducible flexion-type supracondylar fractures of the humerus in older children.

Objective: In this study, we investigated the efficacy of percutaneous poking reduction and Kirschner wire fixation in older children with irreducible supracondylar flexion-type fractures of the humerus.

Methods: This retrospective investigation included 27 children, comprising 15 males and 12 females, aged between 10 years and 3 months to 14 years and 11 months, all diagnosed with a flexion-type supracondylar fracture of the humerus within one week of trauma. All patients underwent surgery under general anesthesia.

Association between physical activity and allostatic load among pregnant women.

Allostatic load (AL) in pregnant women is associated with maternal and infant health outcomes. Whether physical activity (PA) is a modifiable factor associated with AL during pregnancy is unknown. In this cross-sectional study, including 725 pregnant women in 3 different trimesters, 8 biomarkers were included, and the high-risk quartile approach based on sample distribution was used to construct AL index (ALI).

Clinical characterization of PLAG1- related Silver-Russell syndrome：A clinical report.

Background: Silver-Russell syndrome (SRS) is a rare genetic disorder that is mainly associated with prenatal and postnatal growth retardation. Loss of methylation on chromosome 11p15 and maternal uniparental disomy on chromosome 7 (upd(7)mat) are two common causes, accounting for approximately 50% and 10% of all patients, respectively. Pathogenic variants of genes, such as HMGA2, IGF2, CDKN1C, and PLAG1, have also been detected in patients with SRS.

Intravaginal estrogen management in postmenopausal patients with vaginal squamous intraepithelial lesions along with CO laser ablation: A retrospective study.

Objective: We aimed to use molecular biomarkers and clinical data and echocardiograms that were collected during admission to predict bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in preterm infants with gestational age ≤32 weeks.

Methods: Eighty-two patients (40 with BPD, BPD group and 42 healthy as controls, non-BPD group) admitted to the Department of Neonatology of the Children's Hospital of Soochow University between October 1, 2018, and February 29, 2020, were enrolled in this study at the tertiary hospital. Basic clinical data on the perinatal period, echocardiographic measurements, and molecular biomarkers (N-terminal-pro-B-brain natriuretic peptide, NT-proBNP) were collected.

Rotation of both X- and Y-axes is a predictive confounder of ulnar nerve injury and open reduction in pediatric lateral flexion supracondylar humeral fractures: A retrospective cohort study.

Background: Rotation of the distal fragment often occurs in flexion-type supracondylar humerus fractures (SCHFs), potentially leading to ulnar nerve injury (UNI) and open reduction. We analyzed the correlation between the rotations and UNI or open reduction and then assessed the risk factors associated with these rotations.

Methods: Data of Wilkins type III lateral flexion SCHFs were collected over a 10-year time period (1 January 2012 to 31 December 2021) in Children's Hospital of Fudan University Anhui Hospital.

Intelligent Diagnosis of Heart Murmurs in Children with Congenital Heart Disease.

Heart auscultation is a convenient tool for early diagnosis of heart diseases and is being developed to be an intelligent tool used in online medicine. Currently, there are few studies on intelligent diagnosis of pediatric murmurs due to congenital heart disease (CHD). The purpose of the study was to develop a method of intelligent diagnosis of pediatric CHD murmurs.

Correlation of Conventional Ultrasound Characteristics of Breast Tumors With Axillary Lymph Node Metastasis and Ki-67 Expression in Patients With Breast Cancer.

Objectives: To explore the association between the ultrasound (US) characteristics of breast tumors with axillary lymph node metastasis (ALNM) and Ki-67 expression in patients with breast cancer.

Methods: In total, 527 consecutive patients with breast cancer who had undergone US examinations and curative surgery with axillary lymph node evaluations were included. The size, shape, aspect ratio, margin, internal echo, internal calcification, posterior echo attenuation, lymphatic hilar structure, cortical thickness, and blood flow of the axillary lymph nodes or primary breast lesions were observed with conventional US.

Combination of Genetic Markers and Age Effectively Facilitates the Identification of People with High Risk of Preeclampsia in the Han Chinese Population.

Objective: This study aimed to analyze the possible association between known genetic risks and preeclampsia in a Han Chinese population.

Methods: A total of 156 patients with preeclampsia and 286 healthy Han Chinese women were enrolled and genotyped for 27 genetic alleles associated with preeclampsia in different populations. The association between the genotypes of the individual alleles and preeclampsia and the possible interaction among the alleles were analyzed.

[Application of MDCT and post-processing in children with tracheal foreign body].

To explore the clinical value of MDCT and post-processing in children with suspected foreign body in trachea.Two hundred patients with suspected tracheal foreign body were treated with 64-slice spiral CT (MDCT) and simulated endoscopic imaging,then compared with seen in bronchoscopy; Compare the results of MDCT and post-processing with the coincidence of intraoperative findings.One hundred and eighty-four cases of positive children were examined by MDCT postprocessing technique and bronchoscopy,179 cases were obstructed by exogenous foreign body,5 cases were phlegm thrombosis (endogenous foreign body) obstruction; 16 cases of children with no foreign body diagnosed by MDCT post-processing technique were also examined by bronchoscopy.

[Traversing the vertical pedicle flap for the treatment of severely buried penis in children].

Efficiency and Productivity of County-level Public Hospitals Based on the Data Envelopment Analysis Model and Malmquist Index in Anhui, China.

Background: China began to implement the national medical and health system and public hospital reforms in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Anhui Province is one of the four pilot provinces, and the medical reform measures received wide attention nationwide. The effectiveness of the above reform needs to get attention.

Biliary epithelial cells proliferate during oxygenated liver culture.

Biliary complications remain a major source of morbidity in liver transplant patients. Among these complications, nonanastomotic biliary strictures (NAS) are especially common and they are frequently therapy resistant in part because biliary epithelial cells are more sensitive to warm ischemic injury than hepatocytes. It has been a challenge to maintain the physiological function of biliary epithelial cells during liver transplantation.

Growing a whole porcine liver organ ex situ for six hours without red blood cells or hemoglobin.

Unlabelled: Liver transplantation is an effective approach to end-stage liver disease. Shortage of donor liver and increased waiting time for liver transplantation necessitate the development of an organ culture system by which livers can be cultured and maintained ex situ for a prolonged period of time. The aim of this work is to test whether cell culture condition in vitro could be used to culture whole livers ex situ without the use of erythrocytes.

The Diagnostic Value of Gastrin-17 Detection in Atrophic Gastritis: A Meta-Analysis.

A meta-analysis was performed to assess the diagnostic value of gastrin-17 (G-17) for the early detection of chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG).An extensive literature search was performed, with the aim of selecting publications that reported the accuracy of G-17 in predicting CAG, in the following databases: PubMed, Science Direct, Web of Science, Chinese Biological Medicine, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang, and VIP. To assess the diagnostic value of G-17, the following statistics were estimated and described: sensitivity, specificity, diagnostic odds ratios (DOR), summary receiver operating characteristic curves, area under the curve (AUC), and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).

Urinary N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminidase as an early marker for acute kidney injury in full-term newborns with neonatal hyperbilirubinemia.

Purpose: To investigate renal function estimated by markers in full-term newborns with hyperbilirubinemia.

Methods: A total of 332 full-term newborns with hyperbilirubinemia and 60 healthy full-term newborns were enrolled. Total serum bilirubin, serum creatinine (Cr), serum blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum cystatin C (Cys-C), urinary beta-2-microglobulin (β 2MG) index, and urinary N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosaminidase (NAG) index were measured before and after treatment.
