Objective: To study the prevalence of Gestational diabetes mellitus and to assess the impact of early universal screening to detect Gestational diabetes mellitus.
Materials And Methods: Consecutive 1106 pregnant women were screened for Gestational diabetes mellitus at their first prenatal visit during the study period of February 2012 to January 2013. All the women were screened with a initial 50 gram one hour glucose challenge test (GCT) and those women who tested positive were subjected to a standardized 75 gram oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT).

Settings And Design: 84 participants who were in self-reported good health, who were in the age group of 18-25 years, who were randomized to fast pranayama, slow pranayama and control group with 28 participants in each group.
Material And Methods: Fast pranayama included kapalabhati, bhastrika and kukkuriya.

Snake venom use for recreational purposes has been documented earlier. Willfully subjecting oneself to repeated lethal snake bite as a source of getting relieved of stress and recreation observed in two healthy software engineers, without any underlying psychiatric ailments or comorbidities along with probable mechanisms, are reported. Emergency physicians and practitioners have to be aware of novel methods of exposure to snake venom so as to recognize such cases and treat them accordingly.

Snakebite is not an uncommon medical emergency in India; however, symptoms of autonomic dysfunction in snakebite are rare. The elapid snake envenomation is a frequent occurrence in India, and the krait bite is prevalent in the south Indian region. Here, we present three cases of snakebite with severe hypertension and requiring intravenous nitroglycerin (NTG).

Purpose: To assess the perceptions of integrated counseling and testing center (ICTC) counselors with respect to the training received, problems faced in providing services, and job satisfaction.
Methods: Qualitative methods such as 1 focus group discussion and 7 in-depth interviews were conducted among 14 counselors employed at 13 ICTCs in a costal district of south India.

Chorea is brief, quasi-purposeful, irregular muscle contractions, not repetitive or rhythmic, but flows from one muscle to the next and athetosis is slow, writhing, continuous, worm-like movements of distal extremities (chiefly the fingers) which show bizarre positioning without posturing. Metabolic causes have been documented earlier, note worthy of that being Diabetes. Choreoathetosis has been reported earlier in diabetes mostly in an elderly female, diagnosed most often by Brain MRI.
