LYB001 is an innovative recombinant SARS-CoV-2 vaccine that displays a repetitive array of the spike glycoprotein's receptor-binding domain (RBD) on a virus-like particle (VLP) vector to boost the immune system, produced using Covalink plug-and-display protein binding technology. LYB001's safety and immunogenicity were assessed in 119 participants receiving a booster with (1) 30 μg LYB001 (I-I-30 L) or CoronaVac (I-I-C), (2) 60 μg LYB001 (I-I-60 L) or CoronaVac in a ratio of 2:1 after two-dose primary series of inactivated COVID-19 vaccine, and (3) 30 μg LYB001 (I-I-I-30 L) after three-dose inactivated COVID-19 vaccine. A well-tolerated reactogenicity profile was observed for LYB001 as a heterologous booster, with adverse reactions being predominantly mild in severity and transient.

Background: The effect of perioperative blood transfusion (PBT) on postoperative survival in RCC patients who underwent partial nephrectomy (PN) or radical nephrectomy (RN) remains controversial. Two meta-analyses in 2018 and 2019 reported the postoperative mortality of PBT patients with RCC, but they did not investigate the effect on the survival of patients. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of relevant literature to demonstrate whether PBT affected postoperative survival in RCC patients who received nephrectomy.

An Injectable Nanocomposite Hydrogel for Potential Application of Vascularization and Tissue Repair.

In this contribution, an injectable hydrogel was developed with chitosan, gelatin, β-glycerphosphate and Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) peptide: this hydrogel is liquid in room temperature and rapidly gels at 37 °C; RGD peptide promises better growth microenvironment for various cells, especially endothelial cells (EC), smooth muscle cells (SMC) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). Both stromal cell-derived factor-1 (SDF-1) nanoparticle and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) nanoparticles were loaded in the injectable hydrogel to simulate the natural nanoparticles in the extracellular matrix (ECM) to promote angiogenesis. In vitro EC/SMC and MSC/SMC co-culture experiment indicated that the nanocomposite hydrogel accelerated constructing embryonic form of blood vessels, and chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane model demonstrated its ability of improving cells migration and blood vessel regeneration.
