This study explored the effects of training weight and amplitude in whole-body vibration (WBV) on exercise intensity, indicated by oxygen consumption (VO) and heart rate. In LOAD-study: ten participants performed squats under non-WBV and WBV (30 Hz 2 mm) conditions at 0%, 40%, and 80% bodyweight (BW). In AMPLITUDE-study: eight participants performed squats under non-WBV, low-amplitude WBV (30 Hz 2 mm), and high-amplitude WBV (30 Hz 4 mm) conditions with 0% and 40%BW.

However, there is limited understanding of how an individual's initial physical fitness level might influence the extent of adaptations achieved through these programs. This study aimed to compare the impacts of SSG and HIIT on male soccer players, while also considering the players' athleticism, categorized into lower and higher total athleticism score (TSA).

Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) is a progressive, multifactorial, and challenging clinical condition that often leads to hip dysfunction and deterioration. The pathogenesis of ANFH is complex, and there is no foolproof treatment strategy. Although some pharmacologic and surgical treatments have been shown to improve ANFH, the associated side effects and poor prognosis are of concern.

While the benefits of physical activity on mental health are well-known, systematic reviews and meta-analyses on its impact on mental illness in adults with COVID-19 are scarce. This study of 25 randomized controlled trials shows that physical activity significantly reduces anxiety (standardized mean difference [SMD] = -0.915; 95% confidence interval [CI] = -1.

Fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF-21) has been suggested as a potential therapeutic target for insulin resistance in health-related metabolic disorders such as type 2 diabetes. Despite the metabolic effects of resistance (RT) and aerobic training (AT) on diabetes symptoms, uncertainty exists regarding the superiority of effects manifested through these training approaches on FGF-21 and biochemical and physiological variables associated with metabolic disorders in men diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. This study aimed to investigate the impact of a 12-week RT and AT on FGF-21 levels and symptoms associated with metabolic disorders in male individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a complication of diabetes mellitus that lacks specific treatment, its high prevalence and disabling neuropathic pain greatly affects patients' physical and mental health. Schwann cells (SCs) are the major glial cells of the peripheral nervous system, which play an important role in various inflammatory and metabolic neuropathies by providing nutritional support, wrapping axons and promoting repair and regeneration. Increasingly, high glucose (HG) has been found to promote the progression of DPN pathogenesis by targeting SCs death regulation, thus revealing the specific molecular process of programmed cell death (PCD) in which SCs are disrupted is an important link to gain insight into the pathogenesis of DPN.

Nowadays, due to lifestyle changes, the number of young people suffering from chronic non-specific low back pain (CNLBP) is gradually increasing. The recent guidelines for the treatment of low back pain emphasize that exercise therapy is the preferred treatment method for CNLBP. This study take ordinary college male students with CNLBP as objective of the study, focused into how core stability training affected the pain and muscle function of the CNLBP of youth.

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a rheumatic disease that causes inflammation and bone formation in the spine. Despite significant advances in treatment, adverse side effects have triggered research into natural compounds. Epimedium (EP) is a traditional Chinese herb with a variety of pharmacological activities, including antirheumatic, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory activities; however, its direct effects on AS treatment and the underlying molecular mechanisms have not been systematically studied.

Objective: To discuss the effects of physical exercise (PE) on adolescent short video addiction (SVA) and analyze the mediating effects of self-control (SC) and the moderating effects of the cumulative ecological risk (CER), aiming to provide theoretical support for PE relative to adolescent SVA, investigate the underlying mechanisms of the effects of PE.
Methods: The Physical Activity Rating Scale-3, Problematic TikTok Use Scale, Self-Control Scale, and Cumulative Ecological Risk Scale were used to survey 756 adolescents in Chongqing and Chengdu, China. SPSS was used to construct a research model by conducting reliability, confirmatory factor, common method bias, and AMOS analyses.

Background: In observational studies, the relationship between coffee intake and bone mineral density (BMD) is contradictory. However, residual confounding tends to bias the results of these studies. Therefore, we used a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to further investigate the potential causal relationship between the two.

For professional athletes or fitness crowd who often participate in sports, sports injury are more common. However, the traditional repair materials for sports injury have many problems, such as long recovery period and poor repair effect. In recent years, many studies have found that conjugated materials have good stability, small side effects and other excellent characteristics, and conjugated materials are used in sports injury repair materials.

As one of the most common neuropathic disorders, neuropathic pain often has a negative impact on patients with persistent pain, mood disorders and sleep disturbances. Currently, neuropathic pain is not treated with any specific drug, instead, drugs for other diseases are used as replacements in clinics, but most have adverse effects. In recent years, the role of spinal cord microglia in the pathogenesis of neuropathic pain has been widely recognized, and they are being explored as potential therapeutic targets.

Motor neuron disease (MND), including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinal muscular atrophy and others, involved the upper or lower motor neurons selective loss, is characterized by neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation, in conjunction with microglia. We summarized that pathways and key mediators are associated with microglia, such as fractalkine signaling, purinergic signaling, NF-κB signaling, p38 MAPK signaling, TREM2-APOE signaling, ROCK signaling, C1q signaling, and Ion channel, which are involved in the activation, proliferation, and inflammation of microglia. This review aims to identify the microglia-related molecular target and explore potential treatment strategies for MND based on that target.
