Background: To develop an enhanced epilepsy diagnosis system by integrating an expert-informed ontology with a custom generative pre-trained transformer (GPT), validated by inferring possible seizure lateralization and localization using retrospective textual data from the pre-surgical assessments of patients with pharmaco-resistant epilepsy (PRE).
Methods: We developed an AI system for epilepsy diagnosis using Protégé with OWL/SWRL, integrating a knowledge base with seizure semiology, seizure types EEG descriptors, expert insights, and literature to pinpoint seizure locations. A customized GPT model was then tailored for specific diagnostic needs.

Background: A predominate azole-resistant Candida tropicalis clade 4 genotype causing candidemia has been detected in not only Taiwan but also China, Singapore, and Australia. It can also be detected on fruit surfaces. In addition to determining distribution and drug susceptibilities of pathogenic yeasts in environments of intensive care units of 25 hospitals in Taiwan, we would also like to investigate whether the azole-resistant C.

Background: To assess the clinical outcomes and identify the ideal indication for implementing dorsal distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) capsular imbrication after triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) repair in cases of DRUJ instability.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study on patients who underwent arthroscopic TFCC repair between 2016 and 2021. Inclusion criteria comprised a symptomatic ulna fovea sign for over 6 months and dorsal DRUJ subluxation on magnetic resonance imaging.

Purpose: Limited data exist on asthma medication patterns in Taiwan. The objectives of the SABINA III cross-sectional study in Taiwan were thus, to describe patient demographics and clinical features and estimate short-acting β-agonist (SABA) and inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) prescriptions per patient.
Methods: Patients (≥18 years) with asthma were classified by investigator-defined asthma severity per the 2017 Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) recommendations.

To monitor trends in the distribution of yeast species and the susceptibilities of these species to commonly prescribed antifungal drugs, we conduct the Taiwan Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance of Yeasts (TSARY) every 4 years. We found that 25 of 294 Candida tropicalis isolates from TSARY 2014 and 31 of 314 C. tropicalis isolates from TSARY 2018 were resistant to fluconazole.

A predictive marker for efficacy of eribulin administered as different lines of treatment in metastatic breast cancer (MBC) has not been identified. We aimed to determine the predictive factors for efficacy of eribulin administered as different lines of treatment in MBC patients. This restrospective cohort study included 49 heavily pre-treated MBC patients who received either eribulin monotherapy or combination therapy with eribulin and anti-Her2 therapy.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to critically appraise and evaluate effects of low- and high-dose curcuminoids on pain and functional improvement in patients with knee osteoarthritis (OA) and to compare adverse events (AEs) between curcuminoids and non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Methods: We systematically reviewed all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on curcuminoids in knee osteoarthritis from the PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, AMED, Cinahl, ISI Web of Science, Chinese medical database, and Indian Scientific databases from inception to June 21, 2021.
Results: We included eleven studies with a total of 1258 participants with primary knee OA.

Hip fractures decrease older adults' physical activity and quality of life (QoL). However, no current self-efficacy care programs are managed by clinical nurses, and thus no studies have measured their effects on self-care self-efficacy (SCSE). Hence, this quasi-experimental study determined the effectiveness of a self-efficacy care program (SECP) in 104 older adults receiving hip-fracture surgery who were divided into intervention and control groups.

Breast cancer is the leading cancer among women worldwide, and a high number of breast cancer patients are struggling with psychological and cognitive disorders. In this study, we aim to use machine learning models to discriminate between chemo-brain participants and healthy controls (HCs) using connectomes (connectivity matrices) and topological coefficients. Nineteen female post-chemotherapy breast cancer (BC) survivors and 20 female HCs were recruited for this study.

: Epidermal growth factor receptor-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) are a standard first-line treatment for advanced -mutated NSCLC patients. Factors associated with symptoms and quality of life (QOL) improvements have not been investigated. : We conducted a multicenter, prospective study to evaluate improvements in QOL and symptoms in NSCLC patients treated with first-line EGFR-TKIs.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. Adjuvant chemotherapy has significantly reduced mortality but increased cognitive impairments, including attention function, making quality of life issues a crucial concern. This study enrolled nineteen breast cancer patients who were treated with standard chemotherapy within 6 months and 20 sex-matched healthy controls to investigate the brain effects of chemotherapy.

Introduction: Brain perfusion single photon computed tomography (SPECT) is a functional imaging modality and has been widely utilized in evaluation of various kinds of neurological disorders. Easy z-score imaging system (eZIS) is a computer-assisted statistical analysis, based on the comparison with age-classified ethyl cysteinate dimer (ECD) normal database, which provides objectively interpretation of Tc-99m ECD brain perfusion SPECT.Here we presented a 64-year-old male with dizziness, spin sensation, nausea, and vomiting in the emergency room, and brain computed tomography scan showed only small hypodensity lesion in cerebellum.
