NBR materials are widely used in oil refining, automotive industry and aviation due to the high tensile strength and elasticity, resistance to dilute acids. During operation with oils and fuels NBR materials undergo aging, which results in deterioration of the properties of materials [1]. The data on compressibility of NBR samples with 0, 1 and 10% zinc oxide and various cross-linking degree immersed in oil at 150°C for 5 hours and in gasoline at room temperature for 5 hours according to ASTM F146 - 12 [2] was collected.

Previously, we showed that CD206-targeted liposomal delivery of co-encapsulated immunodominant myelin basic protein (MBP) sequences MBP, MBP and MBP (Xemys) suppressed experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis in dark Agouti rats. The objective of this study was to assess the safety of Xemys in the treatment of patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) and secondary progressive MS, who failed to achieve a sustained response to first-line disease-modifying therapies. In this phase I, open-label, dose-escalating, proof-of-concept study, 20 patients with relapsing-remitting or secondary progressive MS received weekly subcutaneously injections with ascending doses of Xemys up to a total dose of 2.

Recent findings indicate that the ubiquitin-proteasome system is involved in the pathogenesis of cancer as well as autoimmune and several neurodegenerative diseases, and is thus a target for novel therapeutics. One disease that is related to aberrant protein degradation is multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disorder involving the processing and presentation of myelin autoantigens that leads to the destruction of axons. Here, we show that brain-derived proteasomes from SJL mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) in an ubiquitin-independent manner generate significantly increased amounts of myelin basic protein peptides that induces cytotoxic lymphocytes to target mature oligodendrocytes ex vivo.

For the first time, the films based on polymer-stabilized cholesteric composites containing crown ether fragments with the optical properties sensitive to the complexation with potassium and barium ions were obtained. The complexation with these ions leads to blue spectral shift of the selective light reflection of planar cholesteric texture of composite films. Peculiarities of spectral changes and kinetics of selective light reflection shift were studied.

Novel catalytic nano-sized materials based on LaCoO(x) perovskite nanoparticles incapsulated in the mesoporous matrix of zirconia were prepared, characterized by physicochemical methods and tested in complete methanol oxidation. LaCoO(x) nanoparticles were prepared inside the mesopores of ZrO(2) by decomposition of bimetallic La-Co glycine precursor complexes. The catalysts have been studied by diffuse-reflectance FTIR-spectroscopy using such probe molecules as CO, CD(3)CN and CDCl(3) to test low-coordinated metal ions.

Hepatopancreas of king crab Paralithodes camtschatica produces a metalloprotease, which belongs to the astacin family, as cDNA cloning and sequencing showed. The metalloprotease has been purified chromatographically to apparent homogeneity. The purification factor was 16 and activity recovery was 20%.

It has been shown that in the course of equilibrium peptide synthesis pepsin gradually disappeared from the liquid phase due to its entrapment within a gel formed by the hexapeptide product, while retaining its activity. The inclusion into the precipitate was not specific for pepsin so far as inert proteins-lysozyme, ribonuclease A and carbonic anhydrase, when added to the reaction mixture, became also co-precipitated with the hexapeptide formed. It appears that co-precipitation of pepsin-an important factor limiting the enzyme efficiency, might be operative as well for other proteinases used to catalyze peptide synthesis.
