Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) is a complex inborn error of humoral immunity with complications of both infectious and non-infectious origins. Classifications of CVID patients provide a clearer understanding of the pathogenesis, prediction, and management of non-infectious complications. This study aims to classify Moroccan CVID patients based on the European classification (EUROclass).

Primary lymphoma of the adrenal gland is an uncommon origin of adrenal tumors; it must be explicitly invoked anytime bilateral adrenal affections are revealed. We report a case of bilateral primary adrenal diffuse large B cell lymphoma and perform a review of the literature. Our patient was a 55-year-old man who presented night sweats and a feeling of cardiac palpitations all evolving in a context of deterioration of his general condition.

Dermoscopic patterns of inflammatory dermatoses (inflammoscopy) have been extensively studied in the recent years, though data on patients with darker phototypes (IV-VI) are sparse. The aims of this systematic review were to summarize the current state of knowledge on inflammoscopy applied to skin of color and provide a standardized nomenclature of reported findings. Besides dermoscopic features, type of setting and magnification, number of cases, and histopathological correlation were analyzed.

Dermoscopy has been showed to facilitate the non-invasive recognition of several infectious disorders (infectiouscopy) thanks to the detection of peculiar clues. Although most of the knowledge on this topic comes from studies involving light-skinned patients, there is growing evidence about its use also in dark phototypes. This systematic literature review summarizes published data on dermoscopy of parasitic, bacterial, viral and fungal dermatoses (dermoscopic findings, used setting, pathological correlation, and level of evidence of studies) and provides a homogeneous terminology of reported dermoscopic features according to a standardized methodology.

Hair and scalp disorders are of significant interest for physicians dealing with dark phototypes due to their prevalence and potential aesthetic impact resulting from a higher tendency for scarring. In order to facilitate their non-invasive diagnosis, several dermoscopic studies have been published, yet data are sparse and no systematic analysis of the literature has been performed so far. This systematic literature review summarizes published data on trichoscopy of hair and scalp diseases (trichoscopic findings, used setting, pathological correlation, and level of evidence of studies).

Over the last few decades, dermoscopy has been showed to facilitate the non-invasive diagnosis of both benign and malignant skin tumors, yet literature data mainly comes from studies on light photo-types. However, there is growing evidence that skin neoplasms may benefit from dermoscopic assessment even for skin of color. This systematic literature review evaluated published data in dark-skinned patients (dermoscopic features, used setting, pathological correlation, and level of evidence of studies), also providing a standardized and homogeneous terminology for reported dermoscopic findings.

Background: Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) has become an established method in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in gastroenterology; however, it has recently gained a growing role in hepatology.
Aim: To evaluate the role of EUS features, strain elastography (SE), and EUS-tissue acquisition in diagnosing hepatic focal lesions (HFLs) that could affect further management.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 215 patients with pancreatic, biliary, or gastrointestinal malignancies referred for EUS examination.

Vitreous hemorrhage (VH) is the main complication of proliferative diabetic retinopathy and remains the primary indication for vitrectomy in diabetic patients. The objective of our study is to compare our medical and surgical management of VH with data from the literature and to report the functional results of our series. We studied a series of 284 cases collected over 2 years in two tertiary care centers.

Pancreas divisum (PD) is the most common congenital variant of the pancreatic ductal system, in which only a few patients develop symptomatic disease. Overall, PD is an underrecognized cause of many cases of recurrent acute pancreatitis. The PD must be systematically suspected in case of multiple episodes of acute idiopathic pancreatitis when exhaustive etiological investigations are negative.

The pathologies and lesions affecting the sesamoid bones of the hallux are uncommon and can be easily overlooked. Among them, sesamoiditis is a relatively rare condition known to cause severe great toe pain; lack of awareness of this particular entity leads to misdiagnosis, delayed treatment, and contributes to significant morbidity. Herein, we present a chronic sesamoiditis case occurring on a medial bipartite sesamoid bone, presenting as chronic great toe pain.

Background: Since its outbreak in early 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has diverted resources from non-urgent and elective procedures, leading to diagnosis and treatment delays, with an increased number of neoplasms at advanced stages worldwide. The aims of this study were to quantify the reduction in surgical activity for indeterminate thyroid nodules during the COVID-19 pandemic; and to evaluate whether delays in surgery led to an increased occurrence of aggressive tumours.
Methods: In this retrospective, international, cross-sectional study, centres were invited to participate in June 22, 2022; each centre joining the study was asked to provide data from medical records on all surgical thyroidectomies consecutively performed from Jan 1, 2019, to Dec 31, 2021.

The rapid and global spread of the novel coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has raised serious public health concerns, including in Mauritania. We sequenced and analyzed the entire genome of 13 SARS-CoV-2 virus strains isolated from polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-positive symptomatic patients sampled from March 3 to May 31, 2021 to better understand SARS-CoV-2 introduction, propagation, and evolution in Mauritania. A phylogenetic tree using available data from the EpiCoV GISAID database and a variant network with non-Mauritanian sequences were constructed.

Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) is an excellent investigation to diagnose pancreatic lesions and has shown high accuracy for its use in pathologic diagnosis. Recently, macroscopic on-site evaluation (MOSE) performed by an endoscopist was introduced as an alternative to rapid on-site cytologic evaluation to increase the diagnostic yield of EUS-FNB. The MOSE of the biopsy can estimate the adequacy of the sample directly by the macroscopic evaluation of the core tissue obtained from EUS-FNB.
