Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a clinically and molecularly heterogeneous disease. The increasing recognition and targeting of genetically defined DLBCLs highlights the need for robust classification algorithms. We previously characterized recurrent genetic alterations in DLBCL and identified five discrete subtypes, Clusters 1-5 (C1-C5), with unique mechanisms of transformation, immune evasion, candidate treatment targets and different outcomes following standard first-line therapy.

Cardinal characteristics of somatoform disorders (SFDs) are worry of illness, and impaired affective processing. We used relative frontal alpha asymmetry (FAA), a method to measure functional lateralization of affective processing, to investigate psychobiological correlates of SFDs. With alpha activity being inversely related to cortical network activity, relative FAA refers to alpha activity on the right frontal lobe minus alpha activity on the left frontal lobe.

Chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR T) therapy is a potent treatment for relapsed/refractory (r/r) B cell lymphomas but provides lasting remissions in only ∼40% of patients and is associated with serious adverse events. We identify an upregulation of CD80 and/or CD86 in tumor tissue of (r/r) diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients treated with tisagenlecleucel. This finding leads to the development of the CAR/CCR (chimeric checkpoint receptor) design, which consists of a CD19-specific first-generation CAR co-expressed with a recombinant CTLA-4-linked receptor with a 4-1BB co-stimulatory domain.

(1) Background: The desire to avoid autograft harvesting in implant dentistry has prompted an ever-increasing quest for bioceramic bone substitutes, which stimulate osteogenesis while resorbing in a timely fashion. Consequently, a highly bioactive silicon containing calcium alkali orthophosphate (Si-CAP) material was created, which previously was shown to induce greater bone cell maturation and bone neo-formation than β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) in vivo as well as in vitro. Our study tested the hypothesis that the enhanced effect on bone cell function in vitro and in sheep in vivo would lead to more copious bone neoformation in patients following sinus floor augmentation (SFA) employing Si-CAP when compared to β-TCP.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a clinically and genetically heterogeneous disease with at least 5 recognized molecular subtypes. Cluster 5 (C5)/MCD tumors frequently exhibit concurrent alterations in the toll-like receptor (TLR) and B-cell receptor (BCR) pathway members, MYD88L265P and CD79B, and have a less favorable prognosis. In healthy B cells, the synergy between TLR and BCR signaling pathways integrates innate and adaptive immune responses and augments downstream NF-κB activation.

Recently, efforts towards the development of patient-specific 3D printed scaffolds for bone tissue engineering from bioactive ceramics have continuously intensified. For reconstruction of segmental defects after subtotal mandibulectomy a suitable tissue engineered bioceramic bone graft needs to be endowed with homogenously distributed osteoblasts in order to mimic the advantageous features of vascularized autologous fibula grafts, which represent the standard of care, contain osteogenic cells and are transplanted with the respective blood vessel. Consequently, inducing vascularization early on is pivotal for bone tissue engineering.
