To explore the ability of You Only Look Once version 5 (YOLOv5) to detect and classify breast lesions on dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI. Four YOLOv5 submodels were examined. A total of 2124 and 2226 images of benign and malignant lesions were obtained, respectively.

Association of caspase-1 gene polymorphisms with rheumatoid arthritis risk in a Chinese Han population.

The goals of present research are to investigate if the genetic polymorphisms in the caspase-1 (CASP1) gene are associated with the risk of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the clinical characteristics of the illness in Han patients from China. Our team studied the CASP1 rs2409062 A/G polymorphisms in 1095 healthy controls and 805 RA patients, while the genotype was identified via a custom-by-design 48-Plex single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) scan™ Kit. The mRNA expression levels of the CASP1 in 40 RA cases and 40 healthy controls were detected by qRT-PCR, while blood plasma levels of the CASP1 in 40 RA cases and 40 paired controls measured via ELISA.

Methods: We retrospectively collected the demographics and surgical results of nearly 2000 TJA patients admitted from 2016 to 2020 and assessed the differences in short- and long-term complications and resource utilization parameters.

There is evidence that osteoarthritis (OA) is associated with ferroptosis which is a kind of lipid peroxidation-related cell death. Theaflavin-3,3'-digallate(TF3), a polyphenol compound extracted from black tea, possesses antioxidative and anti-inflammatory properties, but its effects on chondrocyte ferroptosis in osteoarthritis (OA) remain unclear. Our present study aims at exploring the protective role and underlying mechanisms of TF3 against erastin-induced chondrocyte ferroptosis in OA.

TIMM44 is a potential therapeutic target of human glioma.

TIMM44 (translocase of inner mitochondrial membrane 44) is essential for the maintenance of mitochondrial functions. Bioinformatics studies and results from the local high-grade glioma tissues showed that mRNA and protein levels are elevated in glioma, correlating with poor overall survival. Mitochondrial TIMM44 upregulation was also detected in patient-derived primary glioma cells and immortalized cell line.

We aim to retrospectively investigate the relationship between gallbladder diseases and gastrointestinal polyps in order to provide a theoretical basis for the early screening of gastrointestinal polyps in patients with gallbladder disease.

Methods: This is a retrospective cross-sectional study involving 1662 patients who underwent gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and abdominal ultrasound as part of their health check-up from January 2015 to July 2020.

Patterns of Lifestyle Behaviors and Relevant Metabolic Profiles in Chinese Adults: Latent Class Analysis from Two Independent Surveys in Urban and Rural Populations.

Background: This study was determined to describe the patterns of lifestyle behaviors and their associations with metabolic profiles among Chinese urban and rural adults.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study set in the Nanjing (5,824) and Hefei (20,269) Community Cardiovascular Risk Surveys from 2011-2013, using random cluster sampling. Questionnaires were completed via face-to-face interview, and data on lifestyle behaviors including daily night sleep duration, nap duration (if any) and sitting time, and weekly physical activity (measured using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, in metabolic equivalents of task × minutes, and separated into walking and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MOVPA) according to intensity) was collected.

In order to achieve better performance, artificial intelligence is used in breast cancer diagnosis. In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of different fine-tuning strategies of deep transfer learning (DTL) based on the DenseNet201 model to differentiate malignant from benign lesions on breast dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI). We collected 4260 images of benign lesions and 4140 images of malignant lesions of the breast pertaining to pathologically confirmed cases.

Can laparoscopic nerve-sparing ultra-radical hysterectomy play a role in locally advanced cervical cancer? A single-center retrospective study.

Background And Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate the outcomes of concurrent platinum-based chemoradiation therapy (CCRT), laparoscopic nerve-sparing ultra-radical hysterectomy (LNSURH), and open radical hysterectomy (ORH) on patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma (LACC).

Methods: A single-center retrospective study was conducted on LACC patients who received CCRT, ORH, or LNSURH from January 2011 to December 2019. Data on age, tumor size, overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), and early and late morbidities were collected.

In this study, we aim to investigate the predictive value of serum vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in evaluating treatment efficacy and long-term prognosis for patients with non-surgical esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The patients diagnosed with ESCC by histopathology who didn't receive surgical treatment were retrospectively analyzed. Through follow-up and prognostic analysis, we explored the value of serum VEGF changes before, during, and after radiotherapy for predicting treatment efficacy, and identified important indicators to construct the predictive model.

Differences in clinicopathology and prognosis between gastroesophageal junctional and gastric non-cardiac neuroendocrine carcinomas: a retrospective comparison study of consecutive 56 cases from a single institution in China.

Gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC), including mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm (MiNEN), is uncommon and differences in clinicopathological features and outcomes of NEC arising in various gastric regions remain elusive. We investigated 56 consecutive NECs identified among 3961 gastrectomies performed at our center between 2005 and 2021. We then compared clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis between gastroesophageal junctional (GEJ) NECs (N=39) and gastric non-cardiac NECs (N=17).

Methods: In total, 40 ESRD patients and 30 healthy controls were prospectively enrolled in our study. All subjects completed diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) examinations and Montreal cognitive assessment (MoCA) test.

Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) is a heterogeneous entity with diverse etiologies, morphologies, and clinical outcomes, but our knowledge of its epidemiology and carcinogenesis is very limited. The expression patterns of circRNAs were explored in iCCA tissues and corresponding adjacent normal ones, denoted by (iCCA) and (iCCAP), respectively, using high-throughput sequencing. A total of 117 differential expressed (DE) circRNAs were identified.

Risk factors for in-hospital systemic thromboembolism in myocardial infarction patients with left-ventricular thrombus: A multicenter retrospective study.

Left-ventricular thrombus (LVT) is a potentially life-threatening disease. However, few studies have explored the risk factors of in-hospital systemic thromboembolism (ST) in LVT patients. In this multicenter retrospective study, we enrolled myocardial infarction patients with LVT from January 2008 to September 2021.
