Identification of a lncRNA/circRNA-miRNA-mRNA network in Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma by deep sequencing and bioinformatics analysis.

J Cancer

February 2024

NHC Key Laboratory of Cancer Proteomics, Department of Oncology, Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Changsha, Hunan, P.R. China, 410008.

Accumulating evidence indicates that non-coding RNAs (ncRNA), including long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and circular RNAs (circRNAs), can function as competitive endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) by binding to microRNAs (miRNAs) and regulating host gene expression at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level. Dysregulation in ceRNA network regulation has been implicated in the occurrence and development of cancer. However, the lncRNA/circRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network is still lacking in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).

DlncRNALoc: A discrete wavelet transform-based model for predicting lncRNA subcellular localization.

Math Biosci Eng

November 2023

Department of Internal Medicine, College of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, Hunan University of Chinese Medicine, Changsha, Hunan, China.

The prediction of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) subcellular localization is essential to the understanding of its function and involvement in cellular regulation. Traditional biological experimental methods are costly and time-consuming, making computational methods the preferred approach for predicting lncRNA subcellular localization (LSL). However, existing computational methods have limitations due to the structural characteristics of lncRNAs and the uneven distribution of data across subcellular compartments.

Role of biomimetic nanomaterials made from glioma cell- derived extracellular vesicles in targeted delivery of STAT3-siRNA.

Zhong Nan Da Xue Xue Bao Yi Xue Ban

December 2022

Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Central South University, Changsha 410083.

Objectives: Glioma is the most common primary intracranial tumor and there is still no ideal treatment at present. Gene therapy, as one of the new methods for treating glioma, has attracted attention in recent years. But its application in treating glioma is very limited due to lack of effective delivery vectors.

Predicting and Anti-SARS-CoV-2 Activities of Antivirals by Intracellular Bioavailability and Biochemical Activity.

ACS Omega

December 2022

Center for Translation Medicine Research and Development, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenzhen518055, China.

Cellular drug response (concentration required for obtaining 50% of a maximum cellular effect, EC) can be predicted by the intracellular bioavailability ( ) and biochemical activity (half-maximal inhibitory concentration, IC) of drugs. In an ideal model, the cellular negative log of EC (pEC) equals the sum of log and the negative log of IC (pIC). Here, we measured 's of remdesivir, favipiravir, and hydroxychloroquine in various cells and calculated their anti-SARS-CoV-2 EC's.

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common inflammatory skin disease, but current treatments for AD are mostly limited to the alleviation of symptoms and inhibition of inflammation. Allergen-specific immunotherapy (ASIT) is the only curative approach for allergic diseases and could be a promising way to cure AD. Although ASIT has been gradually applied to patients with AD, there are still few studies on its efficacy evaluation and mechanisms.

Several studies have tried to establish mice models of atopic dermatitis (AD) through the allergen of (Df). However, there are no typical skin lesions after epicutaneous application of an extract of Df (DfE) on BALB/c mice. Dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) is a common hapten that brings about contact dermatitis.

N6-methyladenosine modification participates in neoplastic immunoregulation and tumorigenesis.

J Cell Physiol

July 2022

Department of Radiotherapy, The First Affiliated Hospital, Hengyang Medical School, University of South China, Hengyang, Hunan, China.

This review aims to provide insight into the role of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification in neoplastic immunity and subsequent tumorigenesis. m6A modification, which is catalyzed by methyltransferases, demethylases and reader proteins, has emerged as a widespread regulatory mechanism that controls immune-related gene expression and immune reactions during tumorigenesis. Aberrant m6A modification changes the neoplastic immune response in multiple cancers by regulating immune cell infiltration, tumor-promoting inflammation, immunosuppression, immune surveillance, and antitumor immune responses.
