Mitochondrial dysfunction has been implicated in the pathogenesis of aortic aneurysms (AA); however, the causal role of mitochondrial-related proteins remains unclear. This study employs a Mendelian randomization (MR) approach to investigate the potential causal relationship between mitochondrial proteins and AA. Genetic instruments for mitochondrial proteins were obtained from the IEU Open genome-wide association study database, while AA-related genetic data were sourced from the FinnGen biobank.

Arch Dermatol Res

September 2024

Department of Dermatology, Third Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Changsha, 410013, Hunan, China.

Background: Abnormal biological behaviour of keratinocytes (KCs) is a critical pathophysiological manifestation of psoriasis. Ferroptosis is programmed cell death induced by the accumulation of lipid reactive oxygen species (ROS) in the presence of increased intracellular iron ions or inhibition of GPX4.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of ferroptosis on the biological behaviour of Keratinocytes (KCs) in psoriasis vulgaris and its possible regulatory mechanisms in clinical samples, cells, and mouse models.

This study presents a fluorescent mechanism for two-step amplification by combining two widely used techniques, exponential amplification reaction (EXPAR) and catalytic hairpin assembly (CHA). () engaged in competition with the complementary DNA in order to attach to the aptamer that had been fixed on the magnetic beads. The unbound complementary strand in the liquid above was utilized as a trigger sequence to initiate the protective-EXPAR (p-EXPAR) process, resulting in the generation of a substantial quantity of short single-stranded DNA (ssDNA).

April 2023

Department of Oncology Plastic Surgery, Hunan Cancer Hospital, Changsha 410008, China.

To investigate the efficacies of different forms of free radial collateral artery perforator flaps in repairing the defects after oral tumor surgeries. From May 2016 to March 2021, 28 patients (22 males, 6 females, aged 35-62 years) with oral tumors admitted by Hunan Cancer Hospital received the reconstructive surgeries with the free radial collateral artery perforator flaps after removal of oral tumors, including 24 cases of tongue cancer (11 cases of tongue marginal cancer, 9 cases of tongue belly cancer and 4 cases of tongue cancer involved in the floor of the mouth) and 4 cases of buccal and oral cancer. Four forms of radial collateral artery perforator flaps were used: single perforator flaps for 6 cases, double perforators flaps for 7 cases, flaps without perforator visualization for 10 cases and chimeric perforator myocutaneous flaps for 5 cases.

Prediction of Factors Associated with Abnormal Uterine Bleeding by Transvaginal Ultrasound Combined with Bleeding Pattern.

Comput Math Methods Med

July 2022

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Changsha Fourth Hospital, Changsha City, 410007 Hunan, China.

In order to explore the ability of vaginal ultrasound combined with bleeding pattern to predict factors related to abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB), a total of 205 patients with abnormal uterine bleeding were selected as experimental subjects. According to the corresponding diagnostic criteria, patients were divided into the endometrial polyp group (56 cases), endometrial hyperplasia and canceration group (84 cases), and normal cycle endometrial group (65 cases). The efficiency of the method was determined by comparing the prediction efficiency of the single/joint model.

This study was aimed to explore the anesthesia, analgesia, and nursing intervention scheme for elderly patients undergoing the operation of intertrochanteric fracture of femur under the guidance of ultrasound optimized by blind deblurring algorithm. Fifty elderly patients undergoing intertrochanteric femoral surgery were randomly enrolled into control group (tracheal intubation intravenous anesthesia + routine nursing) and experimental group (ultrasound-guided nerve block anesthesia + comprehensive nursing based on blind deblurring algorithm), with 25 patients in each group. The effects of anesthesia and recovery were evaluated in the two groups.
