Purpose: To assess the utility of signal intensity ratio (SIR) in distinguishing between mass-forming chronic pancreatitis (MFCP) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), thereby reducing unnecessary pancreatectomies or delayed diagnosis brought by misdiagnosis.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 170 participants (34 with MFCP and 136 with PDAC) who underwent radical pancreatic surgery and were diagnosed via specimen pathology. The study group was carefully selected with a 1:4 ratio matching for sex, age, and operation time between two entities.

Background: The relationship between graft maturity on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and return to sports (RTS) after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is unclear.
Purpose: To compare signal-to-noise quotient (SNQ) values and ACL graft T2* (gradient echo) values between patients who did RTS and those who did not RTS (NRTS) after ACL reconstruction and to evaluate the predictive value of T2* mapping for RTS after ACL reconstruction.
Study Design: Case-control study; Level of evidence, 3.

Background And Objective: The neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) were significant and succinct indicators of systemic inflammation. We assessed the influence of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) on NLR and PLR in patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC).
Methods: We reviewed the medical data of patients with LA-NSCLC who underwent SBRT between 1 January 2013 and 31 December 2018.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) has become a global health problem which has almost highest morbidity and mortality in all types of cancers. This study aimed to uncover the biological functions and underlying mechanism of MCM8 in the development and progression of CRC. The expression level of MCM8 was found to be upregulated in CRC tissues and significantly associated with tumor grade and patients' survival.

Background: In this study, we evaluated the efficacy and toxicity of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) as replacement strategy of conventionally fractionated radiation therapy in stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients unfit for concurrent chemoradiation therapy (CRT).
Methods: We analyzed the clinical outcomes in patients with unresectable stage III NSCLC who received SBRT from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2018. Both induction and consolidation chemotherapy were allowed.

Objective: The aim of the study is to reinterpret the prognostic prediction of p53 expression categories in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma with exploration of the relationship between TP53 mutation genotype and p53 expression pattern.
Methods: Data were retrospectively collected from consecutive patients who underwent primary pancreatic resection. Complete loss of function of TP53 is defined as nonsense and frameshift mutations.

Purpose: Intra-abdominal infections (IAI) are gradually becoming common in the emergency department, though the incidence is low and the prognosis is fair, as the symptoms are similar to other intra-abdominal diseases, rapid and accurate diagnosis of the causative agents is essential for clinical management. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) in detecting IAI in the emergency department.
Patients And Methods: This was a retrospective, single-centered study including patients admitted to the emergency department from January 1st, 2021 to August 31st, 2022 with diagnosis of IAI.

Accurate segmentation of whole slide images is of great significance for the diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. However, developing an automatic model is challenging due to the complex content, limited samples, and high sample heterogeneity of pathological images. This paper presented a multi-tissue segmentation model for whole slide images of pancreatic cancer.

After anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, some patients are not recommended to return to high-level physical activity because they fail to pass return-to-sports tests. The kinematic difference between these patients and those who pass the return-to-sports tests is unclear. Eighty-two patients who received anatomic single-bundle anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction for unilateral ACL injury underwent return-to-sport tests during a hospital visit at a minimum of 9 months (9-11 months) of follow-up.

Objective: Positive resection margin indicates worse prognosis. The present study identified the independent risk factors of R1 resection in pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and distal pancreatosplenectomy (DP) for patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).
Method: Consecutive patients who were operated from 1st December 2017 to 30th December 2018 were analyzed retrospectively.

Objective: This study aimed to explore patterns of the treatment strategies of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma based on 2000 consecutive cases of a prospective database since 2012 to obtain new insights for future directions.
Methods: Among 2000 patients enrolled in this study, 210 patients were excluded, and 710, 521, and 559 patients were treated between 2012 and 2015 (group 1), between 2016 and 2017 (group 2), and between 2018 and 2019 (group 3), respectively. Patient clinicopathologic and biological factors, and perioperative outcomes were used to assess the prognostic factors.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the main cause of vision loss in diabetic patients, which cannot be completely resolved by typical blood sugar control. Inflammation influences the development of DR, so reducing the inflammatory response in DR patients is crucial to the prevention of DR. Therefore, we explored the regulatory effect of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC) exosomes on inflammation in DR mice.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly heterogeneous and malignant disease with the complex immune microenvironment, which ultimately influence clinic outcomes of patients. However, the spatial expression patterns of diverse immune cells among tumor microenvironment remain to be further deciphered. Spatial transcriptomics sequencing (ST) was implemented on two portions of HCC specimens.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate whether curcumin has a therapeutic effect on endometriosis (EM) and to determine the specific mechanism.
Methods: Network pharmacology was used to obtain the core targets of curcumin for the treatment of EM and the specific biologic processes involved. A mouse model of EM was constructed and divided into different groups, as follows: control, negative control, curcumin, and denogestrel.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly malignant tumour with a poor prognosis and a high mortality rate. It is of great significance to explore sensitive or specific biomarkers for early diagnosis and prognosis. We first examined the metabolome and gut microbiota of resectable and unresectable PDAC patients to comprehensively investigate the characteristics of PDAC at different stages of progression.

Due to the presence of the blood-brain barrier (BBB), the delivery of general drugs into the brain tissue remains to be a tricky problem. For patients with brain metastases from breast cancer, drug delivery systems must overcome this physical barrier. Targeted nano vehicles arise as a promising alternative to deliver drugs to brain tissues successively.

We developed a novel nanostructure DNA probe for the detection of and miR-192 in retinoblastoma (RB) and to study the correlation between and miR-192 expression and RB development. and miR-192 nanostructure DNA probes were carried by silica particles and coated by dioleoyl-trimethy-lammonium-propane, which enhances their organizational compatibility and infiltration capacity. This probe has stable physicochemical properties and high specificity and sensitivity to detect and miR-192 both in RB cell lines and RB tissues.

Purpose/objectives: Locally recurrent pancreatic cancer is a therapeutic challenge, and aggressive approaches are needed to improve its clinical outcomes. Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) is a promising treatment for pancreatic cancer with an excellent local control and acceptable toxicity. However, the safety and efficacy of SBRT for in-field recurrence after initial SBRT remain unknown.
