This article summarizes and discusses the collaborative effects of acupuncture and medication in treatment, including four aspects, named "acupuncture synergizing the effects of medication", "medication advancing the effects of acupuncture", "coordination of acupuncture and medication", and "antagonism of acupuncture and medication". Regarding "acupuncture synergizing the effects of medication", the actions of acupuncture are predominant, which affects the absorption and metabolism of drugs in the body, increases drug concentration in blood, enhances the targeting effect of drugs, guides meridian tropism, alleviates the drug dose and adverse reactions, avoids the first pass effect and accelerates the drug bioavailability. As for "medication advancing the effects of acupuncture", the synergistic effect of acupuncture is obtained by medication, besides, the medication itself may supplement the drug property to the needles during acupuncture pretreatment so as to increase the therapeutic effect.

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of cluster acupuncture at scalp points in treating limb spasm after stroke on the basis of conventional exercise therapy.
Methods: A total of 72 patients with limb spasm after stroke were randomly divided into an observation group (36 cases, 5 cases dropped off) and a control group (36 cases, 6 cases dropped off). The control group was treated with exercise therapy.

Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of cupping treatment combined with antibiotics and antibiotics alone for bacterial pneumonia in children.
Methods: A total of 72 children with bacterial pneumonia were randomly divided into an observation group (36 cases, 1 case dropped off) and a control group (36 cases). The children in the control group were treated with intravenous drip of cefodizine sodium [80 mg/(kg•d)] for 7 days.

The questionnaire of was issued to 24 colleges and universities of TCM in China. The questionnaire systematically investigated the recent disciplinary development of acupuncture-moxibustion and from the aspects of specialty construction, student enrollment, faculty construction, personnel training quality, teaching quality and scientific research results. As a result, from 2013 to October of 2017, the above aspects in 24 colleges and universities of TCM in China showed an increasing trend year by year.

Objective: To summarize the acupoints for mental diseases in (GB/T30233-2013) so as to provide theoretical evidence for acupoint compatibility and acupuncture-moxibustion prescription.
Methods: The acupoints for mental diseases in were artificially retrieved,and then their frequencies,meridians and locations were analyzed.
Results: Eighty acupoints were collected totally.
Motion acupuncture (MA) refers to a special acupuncture technique where a patient carries out body motions under supervision of doctors with needles inserted and retained in the points. The motions include active movement, allocinesis and load exercise. The technique of MA involves three major procedures,namely target examination (finding target), acupuncture techniques (motion allowed after acupuncture) and motion methods (needle-retaining motion), which are described in detail in this article.
