Lipidomics has become a pivotal tool in biomarker discovery for the diagnosis of psychiatric illnesses. However, the composition and quantitative analysis of peripheral lipids in female patients with bipolar disorder (BD) have been poorly addressed. In this study, plasma samples from 24 female patients with BD and 30 healthy controls (HCs) were analyzed by comprehensive lipid profiling and quantitative validation based on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Our previous study has shown that augmenter of liver regeneration (ALR) inhibits renal tubular epithelial cell apoptosis and regulates autophagy; however, the influence of ALR on necroptosis remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the effect of ALR on necroptosis caused by ischemia-reperfusion and the underlying mechanism.

[Application of iPDMS protein microarray in screening of tumor-associated antigen autoantibodies].

The rapid screening of tumor markers is a challenging task for early diagnosis of cancer. This study aims to use highly sensitive chemiluminescent protein microarray technology to efficiently screen a variety of low abundance tumor related markers. A new material, termed integrated polydimethylsiloxane modified silica gel (iPDMS), was obtained by adding a surface polymerization initiator with olefin end to the conventional polydimethylsiloxane, and fixing into the three-dimensional structure of polydimethylsiloxane by thermal crosslinking through silicon hydrogen bonding.

Background: Chronic neutrophilic leukemia (CNL) is a rare bone marrow proliferative tumor and a heterogeneous disorder. In 2016, the World Health Organization included activating mutations in the gene as one of the diagnostic criteria, with T618I being the most common mutation. The disease is often accompanied by splenomegaly, but no developmental abnormalities and significant reticular fibrosis, and no Ph chromosome and fusion gene.

Background: Cerebral infarction is a rare complication of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler injection, usually presenting with sudden increase in intracranial pressure and loss of vision.

Methods: A 40-year-old Asian woman in a coma was transferred to the emergency intensive care unit of Xijing Hospital, China, 48 h after nasal augmentation with HA. Magnetic resonance imaging indicated cerebral infarction and left optic nerve edema and ischemia.

A management program for preventing occupational blood-borne infectious exposure among operating room nurses: an application of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model.

Objectives: The study aim was to determine the effect of an occupational blood-borne pathogen exposure (OBE) management program based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model on knowledge, attitude and behaviour regarding OBE prevention among operating room nurses.

Methods: This was a one-group pre-test post-test experimental study. The PRECEDE-PROCEED model was used to design and evaluate the effect of an OBE management program on 87 operating room nurses from February to July 2018.

The quiet exposure method with high temperature (40DegreesCelsius) and high humidity (70%) was used to make a typical rat model of thermoplegia to monitor rectal temperature and record onset time every 10 minutes.

To explore the application of adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction Veo (ASIR-V) and 80 kV in renal computed tomography angiography(CTA). Eighty patients with renal computed tomography angiography were prospectively collected from April 2018 to July 2018 in the Affiliated Hospital of Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine and randomly divided into group A and group B. The patients in group A adopted tube voltage 120 kV and contrast agent concentration 600 mgI/kg and reconstructed with filtered back projection (FBP), while the patients in group B were scanned with tube voltage 80 kV and contrast agent concentration 350 mgI/kg and reconstructed with FBP and ASIR-V from 10% to 100% with 10% interval.

Objective: To explore the feasibility of reducing radiation dose and improving image quality in CT portal venography (CTPV) using 80 kV and adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction-V(ASIR-V) in slender patients in comparison with conventional protocol using 120 kV and ASIR.

Methods: Sixty slender patients for enhanced abdominal CT scanning were randomly divided into group A and group B. Group A used the conventional 120 kV tube voltage, 600 mgI/kg contrast dose and reconstructed with the recommended 40% ASIR.
