A novel approach to infertility treatment of advance-age patient with prominent intramural fibroid.

We report for the first time on a case of infertile advance-age patient with large intramural fibroid, who conceived following a course of Ulipristal. The patient underwent two fresh fertility preserving IVF cycles, with cryopreservation of 9 day-3 embryos, followed by a 12 weeks course of Ulipristal (5 mg per day) and a subsequent frozen-thawed embryo transfer with her own previously cryopreserved embryos. We, therefore, believe that Ulipristal is a valuable addition to treatment armamentarium of advance-age infertile patient with prominent intramural fibroid.

Primary Fetal Lung Hypoplasia (PFLH): Imaging and Clinical Characteristics.

Lower extremity and spine characteristics in young dancers with and without patellofemoral pain.

Very little is known about patellofemoral pain syndrome (PPFS) among young dancers. Understanding the mechanism of the injury and implementing a preventative programme are important in order to minimize the risk of PFPS. The aim of the current study is to determine the extent to which factors such as lower extremity and back characteristics are common among dancers with PFPS.

Risk of adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcomes after high technology infertility treatment: a comprehensive systematic review.

In the literature, there is growing evidence that subfertile patients who conceived after infertility treatments have an increased risk of pregnancy and perinatal complications and this is particularly true for patients who conceived through use of high technology infertility treatments. Moreover, high technology infertility treatments include many concomitant clinical and biological risk factors. This review aims to summarize in a systematic fashion the current evidence regarding the relative effect of the different procedures for high technology infertility treatments on the risk of adverse pregnancy and perinatal outcome.

Metastasis is the primary cause for mortality in breast cancer. MicroRNAs, gene expression master regulators, constitute an attractive candidate to control metastasis. Here we show that breast cancer metastasis can be prevented by miR-96 or miR-182 treatment, and decipher the mechanism of action.

Transperineal implantation of gold fiducial markers (gold seeds) for prostate image-guided radiation therapy: a feasible technique associated with a low risk of complications.

Introduction: The purpose is to describe the method, safety and efficacy of transperineal gold seed placement for image-guided radiation therapy.

Methods: An ethics committee approved database was used to review records of consecutive patients from October 2008 through December 2013, who underwent transperineal implantation of three gold markers into the prostate using staged local anaesthesia and transrectal ultrasound. Seeds were counted on radiographs from CT simulation, first treatment and last treatment.

Since this study seems not to appear for various reasons, we present herewith, the hypothetical required RCT based on the hitherto published literature.

Biosimilars are not exact copies and are not considered generic versions of the reference product. Actionable clinical decisions based on comprehensive genomic evaluation in asymptomatic adults.

Whole-exome sequencing (WES) arises as a new approach in diagnosing individuals affected by multigenic and complex phenotypes. Herein, we aim to examine whether WES is useful in screening asymptomatic individuals for actionable interventions, which has not yet been established. Twenty-five healthy adults underwent WES, bioinformatics, and manual curation of their exomes.

Problem: Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is similar to vascular leak syndrome (VLS), which may be attributable to the massive increase in systemic inflammatory cytokines. The hyperstimulated human ovaries were demonstrated to contain interleukin (IL)-2, which, in turn, was suggested to activate the systemic inflammatory response characteristic of OHSS. As the source of follicular fluid IL-2 is still unclear, in the present study, we sought to validate the presence of IL-2 and IL-2 mRNA expression in human luteinized granulosa cells.

Sensitive Replicate Real-Time Quantitative PCR of BCR-ABL Shows Deep Molecular Responses in Long-Term Post-Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Patients.

Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) is commonly used for follow-up of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) patients treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors, but its current sensitivity does not allow detection of very low BCR-ABL levels. Therefore RT-qPCR negativity is not synonymous with complete molecular response. Replicate RT-qPCR had shown increased sensitivity in tyrosine kinase inhibitor-treated patients and was, therefore, used here to evaluate whether RT-qPCR-negative post-allogeneic stem cell transplantation (SCT) patients harbor detectable disease.
