Human embryogenesis frequently coinciding with cell division mistakes contributing to pervasive embryonic aneuploidy/mosaicism. While embryo self-correction was elegantly demonstrated in mouse models, human studies are lacking. Here we are witness to human embryos ability to eliminate/expel abnormal blastomeres as cell debris/fragments.

Chromosomal mosaicism is a common feature of early human embryos development. "Mosaic" embryos display very low rates of concordance between multiple trophectoderm biopsies and between multiple trophectoderm and inner cell mass biopsies using next-generation sequencing. The here presented data clearly demonstrate the limitations and shortages of the preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy screening test, which are not in alignment with WHO basic requirements.

As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, many governments have introduced steps such as spatial distancing and "staying at home" to curb its spread and impact. The fear resulting from the disease, the 'lockdown' situation, high levels of uncertainty regarding the future, and financial insecurity raise the level of stress, anxiety, and depression experienced by people all around the world. Psychoactive substances and other reinforcing behaviors (e.

Perifosine, an investigational, oral, synthetic alkylphospholipid, inhibits signal transduction pathways of relevance in multiple myeloma (MM) including PI3K/Akt. Perifosine demonstrated anti-MM activity in preclinical studies and encouraging early-phase clinical activity in combination with bortezomib. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 3 study was conducted to evaluate addition of perifosine to bortezomib-dexamethasone in MM patients with one to four prior therapies who had relapsed following previous bortezomib-based therapy.

Purpose: While FMR1 premutation carriers (CGG 55-200) were shown to have reduced success with IVF treatment (lower oocyte yield), studies reporting on the association between the number of CGG repeats and patients' response to controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) are inconsistent. In the present study, we aim to explore whether the number of CGG repeats in women with premutation in FMR1 gene, undergoing COH for IVF, correlates with COH variables and whether the number of AGG interruptions may function as a "protective factor" by improving the ovarian response to COH.
Methods: Retrospective study, in an academic IVF-PGD unit.

Patellofemoral pain (PPF) is a common problem experienced by young dancers. Currently, there is no clear indication as to the optimal intervention programme for reducing the level of pain and improving functional abilities in young dancers with PFP. Our aim was to examine the efficacy of two intervention programmes compared with controls in relation to PFP symptoms (shown by pain level, Grinding test, and patellar inhibition test-PIT) and functional abilities of dancers with PFP.

Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) was introduced in 1992 as a method to treat couples with severe male infertility. However, in the last two decades, the use of ICSI has increased substantially even among patients without male factor infertility. In ICSI the oocytes are scrutinized for maturity upon insemination and the immature oocytes are discarded.

Research Question: Which factors are associated with reproductive outcomes among infertile women undergoing myomectomy for intramural fibroids?
Design: This was a historical cohort study including 127 infertile women who underwent myomectomy due to intramural fibroids as part of fertility enhancement treatment at a single academic tertiary-care medical centre between the years 2011 and 2015. Demographic characteristics, pre-operative evaluation, surgical factors and post-surgical factors were compared between women who successfully conceived and those who did not following myomectomy.
Results: The overall clinical pregnancy rate following myomectomy was 58.

Despite advances in the field of male reproductive health, idiopathic male infertility, in which a man has altered semen characteristics without an identifiable cause and there is no female factor infertility, remains a challenging condition to diagnose and manage. Increasing evidence suggests that oxidative stress (OS) plays an independent role in the etiology of male infertility, with 30% to 80% of infertile men having elevated seminal reactive oxygen species levels. OS can negatively affect fertility a number of pathways, including interference with capacitation and possible damage to sperm membrane and DNA, which may impair the sperm's potential to fertilize an egg and develop into a healthy embryo.

The aim of this study was to assess changes in body morphology, anatomical alignment and prevalence of patellofemoral pain (PFP) in young female dancers along one year of pubertal growth, and to identify the risk factors related to PFP in these young dancers. Both legs of 60 dancers were evaluated during grade 7 and again after 1-year. At each of these points in time, the dancers were interviewed concerning their background, and anthropometric measurements, lower-limb physical examinations and knee ultrasound scans were performed.

Women who carry the FMR1 premutation may suffer from ongoing deterioration of ovarian function. The lucidity of the molecular mechanism of FXTAS is emerging and findings from research in the field of FXTAS could elucidate the pathogenesis of FXPOI. To date there are three possible mechanisms for ovarian dysfunction in FMR1 permutation carriers.

Backgroud: In order to maximize In vitro fertilization (IVF) success rates in advanced- age patients, it has been suggested to favor the use of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) over conventional insemination (CI), with the notion that ICSI would serve as a tool to overcome interference in sperm oocyte interaction and sperm oocyte penetration issues that can be related to maternal age and are not due to sperm abnormalities. We therefore aim to evaluate the role of ICSI in the treatment of non-male factor infertile patients aged ≥35 in terms of fertilization and top-quality embryo rates.
Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, data were collected and analyzed for all patients with non-male factor infertility, aged ≥35 treated, undergoing their first IVF cycle attempt with 6 or more oocytes yield, in whom a 50% ICSI-CI division was performed.

Research Question: What pregnancy rates are achieved after transfer of cryopreserved double slow-frozen embryos in IVF cycles? Patients in whom surplus thawed cleaved embryos (day 2 or 3) were grown to the blastocyst stage, re-frozen and then re-thawed for transfer (double freezing) were included.
Design: Data were collected on all patients who had undergone the above procedure at the IVF unit of Assuta Ramat Hachayal Hospital, Tel Aviv, during a 7-year period. For each patient in the study group, the two-consecutive, matched-by-age patients treated with frozen-thawed single blastocyst transfer were selected to form a 2:1 ratio control group.
