Objective: To evaluate whether implementing a nutritional care bundle is associated with growth and morbidity in very preterm (VPT) infants.
Study Design: This study compared 87 VPT infants (<32 gestational weeks) born 2018 (Before group) with 75 infants born 2020 (After group), treated at a single center in the Czech Republic. A nutritional care bundle was implemented during 2019.

Patients with testicular lymphoma are at an increased risk of central nervous system (CNS) disease. Optimal strategy for CNS relapse prevention is unknown. We analyzed treatment strategies, cumulative incidence of CNS relapse and prognosis in 229 patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and testicular involvement: 157 primary testicular lymphomas (PTL) in clinical stages IE/IIE and 72 patients in advanced stages (T-DLBCL) IIIE/IV.

Background And Objectives: Endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms has tremendously advanced over the past decades. Nevertheless, aneurysm residual and recurrence remain challenges after embolization. The objective of this study was to elucidate the portion of embolized aneurysms requiring open surgery and evaluate whether newer endovascular treatments have changed the need for open surgery after failed embolization.

Study Design: Multicenter retrospective study involving different international societies for rare immunological disorders.1009 patients diagnosed with MIS-C between March and September 2022, from 48 centers and 22 countries were collected.

Objectives: Cardiac arrhythmias predict poor outcome after myocardial infarction (MI). We studied if arrhythmia monitoring with an insertable cardiac monitor (ICM) can improve treatment and outcome.
Design: BIO|GUARD-MI was a randomized, international open-label study with blinded outcome assessment.

Aims: Our aim was to describe the changes in therapy and diabetes control in Ukrainian war refugee children with diabetes (CwD) during the first year of their stay in Czechia.
Methods: A total of 124 CwD (62 male, 62 female) were enrolled into this observational study. Anthropometric, laboratory and diabetes management data were acquired at baseline and at 3 months intervals for 12 months.

Aims: Data on the hybrid atrial fibrillation (AF) treatment are lacking in patients with structural heart disease undergoing concomitant CryoMaze procedures. The aim was to assess whether the timely pre-emptive catheter ablation would achieve higher freedom from AF or atrial tachycardia (AT) and be associated with better clinical outcomes than surgical ablation alone.
Methods And Results: The trial investigated patients with non-paroxysmal AF undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting and/or valve repair/replacement with mandatory concomitant CryoMaze procedure who were randomly assigned to undergo either radiofrequency catheter ablation [Hybrid Group (HG)] or no further treatment (Surgery Group).

Background: The association of COVID-19 with higher bleeding risk and worse outcomes in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) undergoing revascularization may be related to the presence of infection symptoms. We aimed to assess the safety and outcomes of revascularization treatments in patients with AIS with asymptomatic COVID-19 (AS-COVID) or symptomatic COVID-19 (S-COVID).
Methods: We conducted an international multicenter retrospective cohort study of consecutive AIS tested for SARS-CoV-2, receiving intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular treatment between 2020 and 2021.

Corynebacteria, non-spore-forming, gram-positive, aerobic or facultative anaerobic, pleomorphic bacilli, are part of the normal skin, oropharyngeal, and intestinal flora in humans. However, this microorganism can rarely be associated with invasive infections such as bone and joint infections, bacteremia, endocarditis, meningitis, liver and spleen abscesses. We present a case of bacteremic arthritis of a native knee joint caused by non-toxigenic Corynebacterium diphtheriae in a patient with alcoholic liver cirrhosis.

Despite the importance of functional outcome, only a few scoring systems exist to predict neurologic outcome in meningioma surgery. Therefore, our study aims to identify preoperative risk factors and develop the receiver operating characteristics (ROC) models estimating the risk of a new postoperative neurologic deficit and a decrease in Karnofsky performance status (KPS). A multicentric study was conducted in a cohort of 552 consecutive patients with skull base meningiomas who underwent surgical resection from 2014 to 2019.

Background And Aim: In-stent restenosis (ISR) belongs to an infrequent but potentially serious complication after carotid angioplasty and stenting in patients with severe carotid stenosis. Some of these patients might be contraindicated to repeat percutaneous transluminal angioplasty with or without stenting (rePTA/S). The purpose of the study is to compare the safety and effectiveness of carotid endarterectomy with stent removal (CEASR) and rePTA/S in patients with carotid ISR.
