This editorial initiative gave us the opportunity to reflect on the relations between accuracy measures, prevalence and characteristics of the tested population in the case of HPV-based screening. In screening test evaluation, we look at the clinical accuracy of the test as an intrinsic characteristic of the assay, which interacts with the characteristics of the population, the result being the screening performance.

Background: Giant prolactinoma (size > 4 cm) is a rare condition and accounts for less than 1% of pituitary adenomas. In even rarer cases, these lesions may involve craniocervical structures requiring surgical intervention. The present case is the largest reported giant prolactinoma (99 × 72 × 57 mm).

Background: This pilot study aimed to provide supportive evidence for the feasibility of conducting a full-scale intervention trial with patients newly diagnosed with head and neck cancer (HNC). This included assessing the acceptability and potential usefulness of the PTSD Coach mobile app as an early self-management intervention that gives information about anxiety symptoms, offers self-assessment of symptoms with feedback, tools to self-manage anxiety, and connects to support.
Methods: A three-arm randomized controlled trial was conducted.

Background: Most cases of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) are caused by infertility treatment using human menopausal gonadotropin (HMG) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). OHSS is widely known to have a "spoke-wheel" appearance on imaging, presenting as bilateral symmetric enlargement of ovaries with multiple cysts of varying sizes. When this spoke-wheel appearance is observed in patients not undergoing infertility treatment, tumor-derived hormones such as follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and hCG should be measured.

This study aimed to predict preterm birth in nulliparous women using machine learning and easily accessible variables from prenatal visits. Elastic net regularized logistic regression models were developed and evaluated using 5-fold cross-validation on data from 8,830 women in the Nulliparous Pregnancy Outcomes Study: New Mothers-to-Be (nuMoM2b) dataset at three prenatal visits: - , - , and - weeks of gestational age (GA). The models' performance, assessed using Area Under the Curve (AUC), sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy, consistently improved with the incorporation of data from later prenatal visits.

Background: The best open side for unilateral open-door laminoplasty (UODL) to treat inconsistent cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL) needs to be identified.
Methods: Thirty-one individuals with inconsistent OPLL who underwent UODL between January 2016 and December 2018 were retrospectively divided into two groups: when the side of the open door was consistent with the side of the larger ossification occupancy area, patients were placed in the Consistent group; when the side of the open door was contralateral to the side of the larger ossification occupancy area, patients were placed in the Contralateral group. The following parameters were evaluated: neck disability index (NDI) score, Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score, visual analog scale (VAS) score, postoperative laminoplasty opening width and angle, and spinal cord diameter ratio.

Background: Many patients with head and neck cancer are not candidates for standard of care definitive treatments though often require palliative treatments given the frequent symptoms associated with head and neck cancer. While existing palliative radiotherapy regimens can provide adequate symptom control, they have limitations particularly with respect to local control which is becoming more important as advances in systemic therapy are improving survival. Personalized ultrafractionated stereotactic adaptive radiotherapy (PULSAR) is a novel radiotherapy regimen which leverages advances in radiotherapy treatment technology and extended interfraction intervals to enable adaptive radiotherapy and possible synergy with the immune system.

The clinical image illustrates an unusual case of a patient with bilateral carotid artery dissection caused by compression from elongated styloid processes. In this case, the diagnosis was overlooked eight years earlier. Eagle's syndrome, marked by an elongated styloid process, can result in cervical artery dissection, highlighting the significance of recognizing this correlation in recurrent cases, which occur more frequently than idiopathic ICA dissections.

Cervical cancer is primarily driven by persistent infection with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) strains and remains a significant global health challenge, particularly in low- and middle-income countries where late-stage diagnoses is common. While vaccination and screening programs have reduced incidence rates, the need for novel and more effacacious and cost-effective therapeutic options is therefore critical especially for advanced cervical cancer. This review highlights several key advances in the understanding of HPV-induced carcinogenesis and the development of therapeutic strategies over the past five years.

Our study had demonstrated that WW domain-binding protein 2 (WBP2) conferred chemoresistance in breast cancer (BC). However, the underlying mechanism remains unclear. Herein, a decreased expression of itchy E3 ubiquitin protein ligase (ITCH) was observed in drug-resistant BC tissues which negatively regulated the expression of WBP2.
