Objective: Primary hypophysitis might be challenging to diagnose, and there is a lack of evidence regarding optimal treatment strategies due to rarity of the disease. We aim to investigate the clinical features and compare the outcomes of different management strategies of primary hypophysitis in a large group of patients recruited on a nationwide basis.

Design: A retrospective observational study.

Functional gastrointestinal system disorders are common problems in practice. The most common symptoms are abdominal pain, gas, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, and a mixture of these, and similar symptoms can be seen in conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer, and celiac disease depending on the age of the patient, indicating the importance of differential diagnosis. The importance of patient management is shown by making a symptom-based diagnosis and making cost-effective, that is, limited advanced examinations.

In February 2023, two catastrophic earthquakes in Turkey resulted in over 50,000 fatalities and over 300,000 injuries. This study investigated the psychological effects on firefighters who engage in rescue operations following these earthquakes, focusing on trauma-related symptoms, depression, anxiety, stress, and resilience. The research employed validated psychometric instruments, including the Post-earthquake Trauma Level Determination Scale (PETLDS); Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21); PTSD Checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5); and Brief Resilience Scale (BRS), to assess the psychological states of firefighters.

Objectives: The goal of this study was to compare the patients who underwent standard or sleeve lobectomy for non-small cell lung cancer in terms of postoperative outcomes, prognostic factors and overall survival.

Methods: Between January 2002 and January 2020, the patients with squamous cell carcinoma or adenocarcinoma who underwent standard lobectomy or sleeve lobectomy by thoracotomy in our clinic were analysed retrospectively. Standard and sleeve groups were compared after propensity score matching in terms of age, comorbidity, T status, N status and pathological stage.

Here, we revealed the reversibility of cabazitaxel (CBZ)-induced apoptosis in PC-3 castration resistant metastatic prostate cancer cells (mCRPC) through the hallmarks of apoptosis. The recovery of PC-3 cells from apoptosis upon removal of CBZ at different recovery periods was evaluated by Annexin V, DNA damage, oxidative damage, mitochondrial membrane depolarization, and caspase activation. Our results showed that the administration of CBZ caused apoptosis for 72 h in PC-3 cells.

Context: The covalent acetylation and deacetylation of histone proteins by the histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzymes can be considered a novel therapeutic target in prostate cancer (PCa) cells. Sodium butyrate (NaBu) is a HDAC inhibitor (HDACi) which is a promising potential anticancer drug. Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) expression is increased in PCa cells and HDACi alter TLR-inducible gene expressions.
