This study aims to describe musculoskeletal manifestations (MSM) in children with Behçet's syndrome (BS), their association with other disease manifestations, response to therapy, and long-term prognosis. Data were retrieved from the AIDA Network Behçet's Syndrome Registry. Out of a total of 141 patients with juvenile BS, 37 had MSM at disease onset (26.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common type of primary brain tumors in adults, characterized by its ability to proliferate rapidly and its tendency to aggressively and strongly invaded the surrounding brain tissue. The standard treatment approach of GBM is surgical resection followed by simultaneous chemotherapy and radiation. However, a significant number of GBM cases develop resistance to currently used chemotherapeutic drugs.

Numerous vaccines have been generated to decrease the morbidity and mortality of COVID-19. This study aims to evaluate the immunogenicity of the heterologous boosts by BioNTech against homologous boosts by CoronaVac at three-month intervals in two health care worker (HCW) cohorts, with or without prior COVID-19, for one year post-vaccination. This is a prospective cohort study in which the humoral responses of 386 HCWs were followed-up longitudinally in six main groups according to their previous COVID-19 exposure and vaccination status.

The segmentation of the liver is a difficult process due to the changes in shape, border, and density that occur in each section in computed tomography (CT) images. In this study, the Adding Inception Module-Unet (AIM-Unet) model, which is a hybridization of convolutional neural networks-based Unet and Inception models, is proposed for computer-assisted automatic segmentation of the liver and liver tumors from CT scans of the abdomen. Experimental studies were carried out on four different liver CT image datasets, one of which was prepared for this study and three of which were open (CHAOS, LIST, and 3DIRCADb).

Purpose: Intravitreal injection of medications induces a sudden increase in posterior segment volume and pushes iris plane anteriorly to narrow iridocorneal angle. The aim of this study to follow and define longitudinal course of these changes following intravitreal injection of 3 different anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) medications or dexamethasone implant.
Materials And Methods: This prospective, longitudinal study included 89 eyes of 89 patients that had an intravitreal injection of bevacizumab (n = 20) or ranibizumab (n = 26) or aflibercept (n = 22) or dexamethasone implant (n = 21).

In our study, in which the relationship between juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and particular environmental factors was evaluated, a correlation could not be established between the rate or duration of breastfeeding and the development or severity of the disease. Int J Rheum Dis, 25, 2022, 1376. It was determined that the time of introduction to cow's milk differed in JIA and juvenile-onset systemic lupus erythematosus patient groups compared to healthy controls.

Colorectal cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. To follow up on the progression of the disease, tumor markers are commonly used. Here, we report serum analysis based on Raman spectroscopy to provide a rapid cancer diagnosis with tumor markers and two new cell adhesion molecules measured using the ELİSA method.

Purpose: Various problems related to the gender-affirming therapy (GAT) can adversely affect both the physical and mental health of people diagnosed with gender dysphoria (GD). In this study, we aimed to highlight the reasons for loss to follow-up during the gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT), which is an important component of GAT.
Methods: People diagnosed with GD who were followed for GAHT between January 2014 and June 2019 (female-to-male: 349; male-to-female: 89) were enrolled.

Background: Paediatric-onset multiple sclerosis (POMS) is increasing worldwide and represents approximately 5% of all MS cases. Although this patient group has similar characteristics to the adult group, it is important for this patient group to receive effective treatment due to the early onset of cognitive involvement, higher lesion burden, and secondary progression at an earlier age than adults. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the factors that cause treatment change in POMS patients.

Introduction: Behçet's syndrome (BS) has a heterogeneous clinical phenotype, and its clinical manifestations may respond differently to drugs commonly used to treat BS. The type, dose, and duration of immunomodulatory, immunosuppressive, and biologic agents should be tailored individually.
Areas Covered: We reviewed the literature for articles on BS management that were published until June 2022 and summarized the management options in BS for each type of organ involvement.

Objectives: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic inflammatory disease characterised by the presence of various autoantibodies. Mild cognitive impairment developing in patients without significant neuropsychiatric (NP) symptoms was thought to be the result of immune-mediated myelinopathy. We aimed to determine the role of myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody (MOG-Ab) in the neurological manifestations of childhood-onset SLE (cSLE) and if there is a correlation between various metabolite peaks in magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and myelinopathy.

Background: Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world and is associated with significant morbidity. Atherosclerosis is the main cause of cardiovascular disease (CVD), including myocardial infarction (MI), heart failure, and stroke. The mechanism of atherosclerosis has not been well investigated in different aspects, such as the relationship between oxidative stress and endothelial function.

Background And Purpose: Flow diversion has gradually become a standard treatment for intracranial aneurysms of the anterior circulation. Recently, the off-label use of the flow diverters to treat posterior circulation aneurysms has also increased despite initial concerns of rupture and the suboptimal results. This study aimed to explore the change in complication rates and treatment outcomes across time for posterior circulation aneurysms treated using flow diversion and to further evaluate the mechanisms and variables that could potentially explain the change and outcomes.

Purpose Of Review: Obesity is a chronic disease, a major public health problem due to its association with non-communicable diseases and all-cause mortality. Indeed, people with obesity are at increased risk for a variety of obesity-related disorders including hypertension, dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, and several cancers. Many popular diets with very different macronutrient composition, including the Mediterranean diet (MD), have been used, proposed, and studied for prevention and management of obesity.

Objective: Neuron-specific enolase is an established biomarker of neuronal damage. This study aimed to reveal the relationship between serum neuron-specific enolase level and continuous interictal discharges in a group of encephalopathy with electrical status epilepticus in sleep patients for the first time and determine whether there is a neuronal cell loss or damage.
Materials And Methods: We analyzed serum neuron-specific enolase levels in patients with an electrical status epilepticus in sleep pattern on their electroencephalographs with age- and sex-matched control subjects.

Objective: Alström syndrome (ALMS) is a rare autosomal recessive genetic disorder that is caused by homozygous or compound heterozygous mutation in the ALMS1 gene. Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) is one of the well-recognized features of the syndrome ranging from sudden-onset infantile DCM to adult-onset cardiomyopathy, sometimes of the restrictive hypertrophic form with a poor prognosis. We aimed to evaluate severe cardiomyopathy in Alström syndrome in infancy and display susceptible specific mutations of the disease, which may be linked to severe DCM.

Purpose Of Review: We aimed to summarize a novel disease called multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), which develops several weeks after a severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) illness.
Recent Findings: Given the rarity of the disease, the question of why a minority of children develop MIS-C is not known. Certain intrinsic susceptibility factors in the host have been described.
