In this study, a web application was developed that comprises scientific literature associated with the family, specifically for those viruses that are members of the Genus Betacoronavirus, responsible for emerging diseases with a great impact on human health: Middle East Respiratory Syndrome-Related Coronavirus (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-Related Coronavirus (SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2). The information compiled on this webserver aims to understand the basics of these viruses' infection, and the nature of their pathogenesis, enabling the identification of molecular and cellular components that may function as potential targets on the design and development of successful treatments for the diseases associated with the family. Some of the web application's primary functions are searching for keywords within the scientific literature, natural language processing for the extraction of genes and words, the generation and visualization of gene networks associated with viral diseases derived from the analysis of latent semantic space, and cosine similarity measures.

Article Synopsis
  • A foreign body in the airway can be life-threatening and requires immediate medical attention, as illustrated by a case involving a 12-year-old boy who choked and subsequently experienced severe respiratory distress.
  • Chest X-rays indicated serious complications including hyperinflation, pneumothorax, and subcutaneous emphysema, prompting further investigation.
  • A flexible bronchoscopy revealed an inorganic object lodged in the airway, necessitating a tracheostomy for safe removal, highlighting that while bronchoscopy is the preferred treatment for foreign body aspiration, its application in children can be debated.

Approximately 25-50% of the population worldwide exhibits serum triglycerides (TG) (≥150 mg/dL) which are associated with an increased level of highly atherogenic remnant-like particles, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and pancreatitis risk. High serum TG levels could be related to cardiovascular disease, which is the most prevalent cause of mortality in Western countries. The etiology of hypertriglyceridemia (HTG) is multifactorial and can be classified as primary and secondary causes.

Gold nanoparticles (GNPs) are an attractive nanomaterial for potential applications in therapy and diagnostics due to their capability to direct toward specific sites in the organism. However, when exposed to plasma, GNPs can interact with different biomolecules that form a dynamic nano-bio interface called a "protein corona" (PC). Remarkably, the PC could affect multiple biological processes, such as cell targeting and uptake, cytotoxicity, and nanoparticle (NP) clearance.
