Objectives: Atopic/allergic diseases impose a growing burden on public health, affecting millions of patients worldwide. The main objective of this study was to develop a national expert consensus on relevant clinical questions related to type 2 inflammation.
Methods: We conducted: a comprehensive literature review with a qualitative analysis to identify the most repeated themes on the overlap of conditions; a modified 3-round Web-Delphi (or e-Delphi); and a final online decision conference.

Postingestive nutrient stimulation conditions food preferences through striatal dopamine and may be associated with blunted brain responses in obesity. In a cross-sectional study, we tested flavor-nutrient conditioning (FNC) with maltodextrin-enriched yogurt, with maltodextrin previously optimized for concentration and dextrose equivalents (n = 57), and to mask texture cues (n = 102). After conditioning, healthy volunteers (n = 52) increased preference for maltodextrin-paired (+102 kcal, CS+), relative to control (+1.

Up to 10% have no identifiable cause, with fourth ventricle outflow obstruction (FVOO) being an extremely rare subtype. A 31-year-old male with a history of idiopathic hydrocephalus for over 10 years with the need for a ventriculoperitoneal shunt had shown progressively enlarged tetraventricular ventriculomegaly.

Vascular calcification (VC) is a complex process involving vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) osteogenic differentiation, inflammation, and extracellular vesicle (EV) calcification and communication networks. Gla rich protein (GRP) is a calcification inhibitor involved in most of these processes. However, the molecular mechanism of GRP in VC and the specific characteristics, cargo, and functionality of calcifying EVs require further elucidation.

Background/objectives: The influenza vaccination of healthcare workers (HCWs) is recommended each autumn and winter season by the relevant authorities in EU/EEA countries. The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of repeated trivalent influenza vaccine (TIV) uptake during the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons on vaccine-derived immunity against influenza.
Methods: A cohort study of HCWs vaccinated with an annual TIV was conducted from October 2017 to June 2019.

Aim: To propose a standardized, high-resolution ultrasound (US) protocol to assess the patellar tendon-Hoffa fat pad interface (PTHFPI) in patients with (proximal) patellar tendinopathy (PPT).
Methods: Using a high-frequency transducer and a high-level machine, we matched the cadaveric and histological microarchitecture of the PTHFPI with multiple sonographic patterns of patients with PPT. Likewise, high-sensitive color/power Doppler assessments were also performed to evaluate the microcirculation of the soft tissues beneath the patellar tendon.

Resting tremor (RT) is a Parkinson's disease (PD) symptom with an unclear relationship to the dopaminergic system. We analysed data from 432 subjects from the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative, 57 additional PD patients and controls and 86 subjects referred for dopamine transporter single-photon emission computed tomography (DaT-SPECT). Caudate binding ratio (CBR), but not putamen binding ratio, was higher in RT patients.

Objectives: To gather and synthesize evidence regarding diagnostic accuracy of perfusion imaging by CT (CTP) or MR (MRP) for brain death (BD) diagnosis.
Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis was prospectively registered with PROSPERO (CRD42022336353) and conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines and independently by 3 reviewers. PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE and Cochrane Database were searched for relevant studies.

Background And Purpose: Parkinson's Disease (PD) requires regular therapeutic adjustments and ongoing outpatient clinic follow-up. Nevertheless, the impact of appointment non-attendance on PD patients concerning the different symptomatic dimensions of the condition remains uncertain. We compared the level of attendance of PD and Essential Tremor (ET) patients and assessed the value of attendance variables as predictors of progression in cognition, motor dysfunction, affect, disability and health-related quality of life in PD.

Anaesthesia for kidney transplant in a patient with severe mitral regurgitation is a real challenge given the need for judicious haemodynamic management to avoid pulmonary oedema and maximise reperfusion of the transplanted organ. This is the first experience described in the literature of continuous spinal anaesthesia in a patient with chronic severe mitral regurgitation undergoing cadaver donor kidney transplant. Transthoracic echocardiography monitoring was used during the procedure to avoid aggravating the patient's mitral regurgitation.

Aggressiveness and negative emotions in dreams reports of patients with alfa-synucleinopathies have been associated with cognitive dysfunction. Observation of dream enactment episodes could be a more precise method to capture dream content in patients with REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD). Our objective was to assess the relation between aggressive and emotional dream enactment episodes in patients with RBD and cognition and depression/anxiety.

Managing patients who present with elevated blood pressure (BP) requires careful but expeditious assessment and triage to differentiate between those at immediate risk of complications and those for whom BP elevation does not pose an immediate threat to health. We present a case of a 54-year-old healthy male patient who experienced refractory hypertension during the immediate postoperative period following nasal surgery. Additional gastrointestinal symptoms and imaging findings made it possible to consider a catecholamine-producing tumour as the primary cause.
