Objective: To develop and validate a low-cost, portable, and reusable simulation model for optical internal urethrotomy (OIU) training.
Methods: A 3D-printed low-cost simulation model for OIU was designed locally and the final model was evaluated by trainees and trainers at the urology boot camps (UK, Belgium, Portugal, Poland). Participants were asked to complete a questionnaire, using a 6-item 5-point Likert Scale, to assess the model's anatomic realism.

Introduction: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder affecting the first and second motor neurons. Forced vital capacity (FVC) and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) have conventionally served as indicators of respiratory muscle strength. Recently, FEV1Q (FEV1 divided by the sex-specific first percentile values of absolute FEV1 in adults with lung disease) has been suggested as a predictor of mortality.

Objectives: During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a significant impact on the management of non-COVID-19 related diseases, potentially increasing the incidence of paraneoplastic syndromes such as cancer-associated myositis (CAM).The aim of this study is to determine the incidence of CAM in our cohort before and after the COVID-19 pandemic onset.
Methods: We included patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM), diagnosed between June 2016 and June 2023.

The authors report the natural history of three patients with late-diagnosed Classic Galactosemia (CG) (at 16, 19 and 28 years). This was due to a combination of factors: absence of neonatal screening, absence of some typical acute neonatal symptoms, and negative galactosemia screening. This report underlines the value of neonatal screening and the importance of further diagnostic testing in case of late-onset manifestations.

Introduction And Objectives: Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is a central component in the management of cardiovascular disease. While its potential benefits have been extensively explored and confirmed, its implementation is still suboptimal, due to various possible barriers. This study aimed to assess training and attitudes concerning CR among physicians in a Portuguese setting.

Background: COVID-19 pandemic is thought to have changed the epidemiology of some pediatric neurosurgical disease: among them are the intracranial complications of sinusitis and otitis (ICSO). According to some studies on a limited number of cases, both streptococci-related sinusitis and ICSO would have increased immediately after the pandemic, although the reason is not clear yet (seasonal changes versus pandemic-related effects). The goal of the present survey of the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN) was to collect a large number of cases from different European countries encompassing the pre-COVID (2017-2019), COVID (2020-2021), and post-COVID period (2022-June 2023) looking for possible epidemiological and/or clinical changes.

Radium-223 dichloride (Ra223) is the first targeted alpha agent approved for treating metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) with bone-exclusive disease. A benefit in overall survival and time to the first symptomatic skeletal-related event was shown in the Alpharadin in Symptomatic Prostate Cancer Patients (ALSYMPCA) trial. However, this trial did not describe a bone scan response to Ra223, and there is no universal consensus about how it should be monitored.

Background: Recognition of submucosal invasive cancer (SMIC) in large (≥20 mm) nonpedunculated colonic polyps (LNPCPs) informs selection of the optimal resection strategy. LNPCP location, morphology, and size influence the risk of SMIC; however, currently no meaningful application of this information has simplified the process to make it accessible and broadly applicable. We developed a decision-making algorithm to simplify the identification of LNPCP subtypes with increased risk of potential SMIC.
