Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disease, that combines motor and non-motor disorders, and alters patients' autonomy. Even if subthalamic nucleus deep brain stimulation (STN-DBS) induces undisputable motor improvement, a post-operative social maladjustment was described by some patients. Our aim was to describe pre-operative illness perceptions in parkinsonian patients, and to determine the possible impact of cognitive restructuration over them.

Short version of the Inventory of Parental Representations, a self-report for attachment assessment among adolescents.

Background: The Inventory of Parental Representations (IPR), a self-administered questionnaire, was developed primarily to identify styles of attachment in adolescence. However, it did not present stable psychometric properties in the various American studies carried out. The aim of this study was to adapt the IPR in French and to provide a shorter version with improved psychometric properties and sound content.

Definition of early age at onset in bipolar disorder according to distinctive neurodevelopmental pathways: insights from the FACE-BD study.

Background: Converging evidence suggests that a subgroup of bipolar disorder (BD) with an early age at onset (AAO) may develop from aberrant neurodevelopment. However, the definition of early AAO remains unprecise. We thus tested which age cut-off for early AAO best corresponds to distinguishable neurodevelopmental pathways.

Physical and mental health status of former smokers and non-smokers patients with bipolar disorder.

Objectives: Up to 70% individuals with bipolar disorder (BD) are lifetime tobacco smokers, a major modifiable risk factor for morbidity. However, quitting smoking is rarely proposed to individuals with BD, mainly because of fear of unfavorable metabolic or psychiatric changes. Evaluating the physical and mental impact of tobacco cessation is primordial.

The latent factor structure and assessment of childbirth-related PTSD in fathers: Psychometric characteristics of the City Birth Trauma Scale-French version (partner version).

Objective: There is no evidence on the latent structure of symptoms of childbirth-related posttraumatic stress disorder (CB-PTSD) in fathers and to date, no validated French instrument exists to measure CB-PTSD in partners, although the City Birth Trauma Scale (partner version) (City BiTS (P)) was developed to measure such CB-PTSD symptoms. This study aimed to validate the French version of the City BiTS-P (City BiTS-F (P)) in partners attending childbirth and to examine its factor structure, reliability, and validity.

Method: French-speaking fathers of 1-to-12-month-olds participated in this online cross-sectional survey ( = 280).

Associations of white blood cell and platelet counts with specific depressive symptom dimensions in patients with bipolar disorder: Analysis of data from the FACE-BD cohort.

Evidences suggest that inflammation is increased in a subgroup of patients with depression. Moreover, increased peripheral inflammatory markers (cells and proteins) are associated with some, but not all depressive symptoms. On the other hand, similar studies on bipolar disorders mainly focused on blood cytokines.

Gene expression of circadian genes and CIART in bipolar disorder: A preliminary case-control study.

Based on the observed circadian rhythms disruptions and sleep abnormalities in bipolar disorders (BD), a chronobiological model has been proposed suggesting that core clock genes play a central role in the vulnerability to the disorder. In this context, the analysis of circadian genes expression levels is particularly relevant, however studies focused on the whole set of core clock genes are scarce. We compared the levels of expression of 19 circadian genes (including the recently described circadian repressor (CIART)) in 37 euthymic individuals with BD and 20 healthy controls (HC), using data obtained by RNA sequencing of lymphoblastoid cell lines and validated the results using RT-qPCR.

Variations of retinal dysfunctions with the level of cannabis use in regular users: Toward a better understanding of cannabis use pathophysiology.

The impact of regular cannabis use on retinal function has already been studied using flash (fERG) and pattern (PERG) electroretinogram. Delayed ganglion and bipolar cells responses were observed as showed by increased peak time of PERG N95 and fERG b-wave recorded in photopic condition. Hypoactivity of amacrine cells was also showed by decreased amplitudes of oscillatory potentials (OPs).

Association of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and Depression Polygenic Scores with Lithium Response: A Consortium for Lithium Genetics Study.

Response to lithium varies widely between individuals with bipolar disorder (BD). Polygenic risk scores (PRSs) can uncover pharmacogenomics effects and may help predict drug response. Patients ( = 2,510) with BD were assessed for long-term lithium response in the Consortium on Lithium Genetics using the Retrospective Criteria of Long-Term Treatment Response in Research Subjects with Bipolar Disorder score.

"" Levers for the Sustained Employment of Patients with Chronic Inflammatory Arthritis: A French Qualitative Study.

Background: Chronic inflammatory arthritis (IA) is known to be involved in declining work outcomes and increased risk of experiencing unemployment. The aim of this study is to qualitatively identify the levers for the employment of patients with IA and AI-like conditions.

Methods: To accomplish this task, a multi-centered, exploratory qualitative design involving one-on-one semi-directed interviews and a focus group was performed among 18 IA French patients to deepen our understanding of what enables patients to maintain employment despite the limiting, chronic, and expanding nature of their symptoms.

Validation of a data collection set for the psychiatric, addiction, sleep and chronobiological assessments of patients with depression: A Delphi study for the SoPsy-depression French national cohort.

Objectives: Despite international efforts to identify biomarkers of depression, none has been transferred to clinical practice, neither for diagnosis, evolution, nor therapeutic response. This led us to build a French national cohort (through the clinical and research network named SoPsy within the French biological psychiatry society (AFPBN) and sleep society (SFRMS)), to better identify markers of sleep and biological rhythms and validate more homogeneous subgroups of patients, but also to specify the manifestations and pathogeneses of depressive disorders. Before inclusions, we sought to provide a predefined, standardized, and robust set of data to be collected in all centers.

Background: Bipolar disorders (BD) is a common, chronic and disabling psychiatric condition. In addition to being characterized by significant clinical heterogeneity, notable disturbances of sleep and cognitive function are frequently observed in all phases of the disease. Retinal markers of therapeutic responses in major depressive disorder: Effects of antidepressants on retinal function.

Background: One goal of research into major depressive disorder (MDD) is to develop markers to predict and monitor the response to psychotropic treatments. The retina is endowed with a complex neurotransmission system, composed of the main neurotransmitters involved in the pathophysiology of MDD. The retina is therefore a relevant site of investigation for the identification of reliable and robust markers.

Visual electrophysiology and neuropsychology in bipolar disorders: A review on current state and perspectives.

Bipolar disorder is a lifelong condition. Today, there is a urgent need to find indicators of the disease. Specifically, they could be useful to improve the diagnosis and the early detection, the prognosis, to estimate the treatment response and to create homogeneous subgroups of patients based on similar pathophysiological mechanisms.
