Fatty liver index (FLI) was developed as a simple and accurate marker of hepatic steatosis. FLI is derived from an algorithm based on body mass index, waist circumference, and levels of triglycerides and gamma-glutamyltransferase, and it is widely used in clinical and epidemiological studies as a screening tool for discriminating between healthy and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) subjects. However, a systematic review of the literature regarding FLI revealed that this index has more extensive relationships with biochemical and physiological parameters.

The topological structure of the macromolecules of lignins isolated from oat husk and fir wood was studied by means of macromolecular hydrodynamic methods. The macromolecular properties were analyzed by evaluating the intrinsic viscosity and coefficients of the translational diffusion and the sedimentation velocity of the lignins in dilute dimethylformamide solutions. The present study assessed a complex of biochemical parameters at the anaerobic threshold (AT) in untrained male Wistar rats with different times to exhaustion (T ) from swimming. The first group of rats was randomly divided into six subgroups and subjected to a swimming test to exhaustion without a load or with a load of 2%-10% of body weight (BW). In the first group, we established that for untrained rats, the load of 4% BW in the swimming to exhaustion test was optimal for endurance assessment in comparison with other loads.

In this work, we studied for the first time the formation of olive oil emulsions in water stabilized by plate-like nanocrystals with the supramolecular structure of cellulose II (pCNC). Effects of storage, pCNC concentration, and NaCl on the stability and properties of Pickering emulsions, including the creaming index, droplet size, zeta potential, acid-base surface properties, and rheology, were studied. A significant influence of the shape of nanoparticles (compared to the classical rod-like shape) on the stability parameters and rheological characteristics of emulsions is shown.

Air quality index (AQI) and air pollutants during two typical pollution episodes, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in fresh snow after each episode in the winter 2019 across Harbin City in northeast China were investigated to explore the co-environmental behaviors. Significantly greater values of AQI and PAHs were found in the more serious atmospheric pollution episode (episode Ⅱ), demonstrating that PAHs in fresh snow is a robust indicator. PM was the primary air pollutant in both episodes based on PM/PM ratios, which might be attributed to fine particulate converted from gas-to-particle process.

The temperature and time dependences of the viscosity of liquid ternary alloys AlNiY, AlNiLa, AlNiCe, AlNiCo, AlNiCoand binary melts Al(Y/Ni/Co)have been studied after different temperature-time treatment of the melt. It is shown that long-time relaxations in the Al-TM-R melts occur only after the phase transition 'crystal-liquid' due to the melt transition from the non-equilibrium to equilibrium state. The non-equilibrium state of the melt appears due to inheriting non-equilibrium atomic groups during melting; the atomic groups have ordering characteristic of chemical compounds of the AlRtype present in solid-state alloys.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the association between the time perspective and the psychophysiological state of the elderly during the pandemic COVID-19. 433 residents from 11 Russian cities aged 60,8±9,8 years (range - 50-94 years, women - 78,7%) took part in the study. During the online survey, each participant of the study provided personal data (place of residence, sex, age, height, and weight) and completed the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory, the Munich Chronotype Questionnaire, the Beck Depression Inventory and the Yale Food Addiction Scale.

The specificity of the most plant carbohydrate-binding proteins (CBP), many of which are known only through bioinformatic analysis of the genome, has either not been studied at all or characterized to a limited extent. The task of deciphering the carbohydrate specificity of the proteins can be solved using glycoarrays composed of many tens or even hundreds of glycans immobilized on a glass surface. Plant carbohydrates are the most significant natural ligands for plant proteins; this work shows that plant polysaccharides without additional modification can be immobilized on the surface, bearing N-hydroxysuccinimide activated carboxyl groups.
