Lung cancer (LC) is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality, and it is caused by many factors including cigarette smoking. Despite numerous treatment strategies for LC, its five-year survival is still poor (<20 %), attributable to treatment resistance and lack of early diagnosis and intervention.
