Introduction: Several cases of radio-induced neurotrophic keratitis had been observed after proton therapy delivering a mean corneal dose of ≥50 GyRBE. We conducted a prospective exploratory study to assess corneal sensitivity in subsequent patients undergoing proton therapy for cephalic extraocular tumors.
Material And Methods: Forty-three patients (85 eyes) treated with high-energy proton therapy were included in this prospective, single-center, observational cohort study.

Objectives: To assess the real-world efficacy and safety of recombinant factor IX albumin fusion protein (rIX-FP) in patients with hemophilia B (HB) in France.
Methods: Data on dosing frequency, weekly consumption, and bleeds before-and-after switching to rIX-FP, were collected from December 2021 to February 2024. Annualized (spontaneous) bleeding rates [A(s)BRs] were calculated only in patients on prophylaxis with a follow-up ≥ 6 months.

Background: Stress due to surgical trauma decreases postoperative lymphocyte counts (LCs), potentially favouring the occurrence of postoperative infections (PIs).
Objectives: We aimed to determine whether postoperative lymphopaenia following thoracic or gastrointestinal cancer surgery is an independent risk factor for PIs and to identify modifiable factors related to anaesthesia and surgical procedures that might affect its occurrence.
Study Design: The EVALYMPH study was a prospective, multicentre cohort study with a 30-day patient follow-up.

The prognostic of certain cancers improved significantly in recent years thanks not only to the launch of innovative treatments but also to progress made in the diagnostic field. Thus, next-generation sequencing (NGS) became paramount to help characterizing tumors and selecting the most pertinent treatments. The survey conducted by a multi stakeholder committee, at the end of 2022, with 103 actors of the management of cancer patients (public and private centers, labs, prescribers, biologists, pathologists, direction) confirmed the heterogeneity of use of NGS tests across France due to, mainly, the lack of systematic reimbursement of related costs.

Introduction: Facial artery perforator (FAP) flap is a versatile and reliable one-step facial reconstruction technique. However, its full potential remains underutilized due to a lack of clear guidelines and rigorous technique requirements. This study report the use of FAP flaps in our centre for the management of perioral and nasal oncologic defects, focusing on surgical technique performed and post-operative management.

Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Caen Normandie, Normandie Univ, UNICAEN, INSERM U1086, ANTICIPE, F-14000, Caen, France.
Purpose: Social eating (SE) is a corner stone of daily living activities, quality of life (QoL), and aging well. In addition to feeding functional disorders, patients with head and neck cancer (HNC) face individual and social psychological distress. In this aging population, we intended to better assess the influence of age on these challenges, and the role of self-stigmatization limiting SE in patients with and beyond HNC.

Background: Factors associated with severe COVID-19 infection have been identified; however, the impact of infection on longer-term outcomes is unclear. The objective of this study was to examine the impact of COVID-19 infection on the trajectory of lung function and nutritional status in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF).
Methods: This is a retrospective global cohort study of pwCF who had confirmed COVID-19 infection diagnosed between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021.
Purpose: Concerns remain with regards to safety of fast-track (FT) and especially outpatient procedures. The purpose of this study was to compare complication rates and clinical outcomes of propensity-matched patients who received FT total hip arthroplasty (THA) in outpatient versus inpatient settings. The hypothesis was that 90-day postoperative complication rates of outpatient FT THA would not be higher than after inpatient FT THA.

Introduction: Following NOVA (part 1) and the approval of the subcutaneous (SC) route of administration of natalizumab by the European Medicines Agency, an extension phase of the NOVA phase IIIb study (part 2) was initiated to collect patient preference data for SC versus intravenous (IV) dosing in patients receiving every-6-week (Q6W) dosing of natalizumab. This study was performed to evaluate patient preference for SC versus IV natalizumab administration and explore the efficacy, safety, and pharmacology characteristics of both routes of administration.
Methods: In part 2, participants received natalizumab (Tysabri) 300 mg via IV infusion Q6W for 36 weeks and then were randomized to 48 weeks of crossover treatment (24 weeks SC Q6W and 24 weeks IV Q6W, or vice versa).

Cognitive impairment is one of the invisible symptoms of Multiple sclerosis (MS), which could be associated with depression, unemployment, reduced social interaction, inability to drive, and compromised quality of life. Moreover, the presence of cognitive impairment can be considered as a long-term prognostic factor and in the follow-up of disability. So, cognitive assessment is a crucial element in clinical follow-up of patients with MS (pwMS).

Objective: Dyspnoea and sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) are common in children with life-limiting conditions but studies on treatment with non-invasive ventilation (NIV) or continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) are scarce. The aim of the study was to describe children treated with long-term NIV/CPAP within a paediatric palliative care programme in France.
Methods: Cross-sectional survey on children and young adults with complex medical conditions treated within the French paediatric NIV network with long-term NIV/CPAP.

Recent research suggests that fetal exposure to antidepressants (ADs) is significantly associated with fetal death, including stillbirth. However, there has been limited investigation into the timing of AD exposure during pregnancy, the specific effect of each drug, and the possibility of indication bias. To address these gaps in knowledge, we conducted a systematic review of literature and disproportionality analyses using the WHO Safety Database (VigiBase).

Background: CASSIOPEIA part 1 demonstrated superior depth of response and prolonged progression-free survival with daratumumab in combination with bortezomib, thalidomide, and dexamethasone (D-VTd) versus bortezomib, thalidomide, and dexamethasone (VTd) alone as an induction and consolidation regimen in transplant-eligible patients newly diagnosed with myeloma. In CASSIOPEIA part 2, daratumumab maintenance significantly improved progression-free survival and increased minimal residual disease (MRD)-negativity rates versus observation. Here, we report long-term study outcomes of CASSIOPEIA.
