Background: Mucosal healing (MH) is an established treatment goal in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, various definitions of MH exist. We aimed to identify how MH is defined in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD).

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most prevalent disorders in children that is considered to affect early stages of information processes. Inefficient processing of temporal information, which is a vital auditory processing skill suggests itself as a potential candidate for investigating ADHD deficits. The Research Domain Criteria (RDoC), a neuroscience-based research framework, has been introduced to study mental illness without relying on pre-established diagnostic categories.

Background/aim: Left ventricular outflow tract obstruction related to systolic anterior motion (SAM) of the mitral valve is a common complication of dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE). However, the mechanisms underlying SAM have not been fully characterized. The objective of the present study was to use three-dimensional echocardiography to identify anatomic features of the mitral valve that predispose to SAM during DSE.

Background And Aims: Presentation, outcome, and management of females with degenerative mitral regurgitation (DMR) are undefined. We analysed sex-specific baseline clinical and echocardiographic characteristics at referral for DMR due to flail leaflets and subsequent management and outcomes.
Methods: In the Mitral Regurgitation International Database (MIDA) international registry, females were compared with males regarding presentation at referral, management, and outcome (survival/heart failure), under medical treatment, post-operatively, and encompassing all follow-up.

Background: Postoperative complications, particularly respiratory complications, are of significant clinical concern in patients undergoing elective thoracic surgery. Dexamethasone (DXM), commonly administered to prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), has potential anti-inflammatory effects that might be beneficial in reducing these complications. We aimed to investigate whether intraoperative DXM administration could mitigate the occurrence of respiratory complications following elective thoracic surgery.

Purpose: The present study aimed at assessing the prevalences of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) (main objective), anxiety, depression, and burnout syndrome (BOS) and their associated factors in intensive care unit (ICU) staff workers in the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Materials And Methods: An international cross-sectional multicenter ICU-based online survey was carried out among the ICU staff workers in 20 ICUs across 3 continents. ICUs staff workers (both caregivers and non-caregivers) were invited to complete PCL-5, HADS, and MBI questionnaires for assessing PTSD, anxiety, depression, and the different components of BOS, respectively.

This study investigates the complexation of mefloquine hydrochloride by cyclodextrins to improve its solubility in order to design an oral solution. This approach may enhance the effectiveness of mefloquine, a drug which can be used for malaria prophylaxis and treatment in children. Mefloquine hydrochloride's solubility was assessed in different buffer solutions, and its quantification was achieved through high-performance liquid chromatography.

The urine concentration impairment responsible for hyposthenuria in sickle cell nephropathy is currently thought to be a consequence of renal medulla lesions, which lead to nephrogenic diabetes insipidus. The objective of the present study was to investigate the mechanism of hyposthenuria in patients with sickle cell anemia. We performed an observational study of patients with homozygous SS sickle cell anemia and data available on the fasting plasma antidiuretic hormone (ADH) concentration.

Background: The efficacy of beta-blocker treatment in type 3 long QT syndrome (LQT3) remains debated.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that beta-blocker use is associated with cardiac events (CEs) in a French cohort of LQT3 patients.
Methods: All patients with a likely pathogenic/pathogenic variant in the SCN5A gene (linked to LQT3) were included and followed-up.

Introduction: Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) is a rare condition characterized by pulmonary hypoplasia, vascular dystrophy, and pulmonary hypertension at birth. Validation of the lamb model as an accurate representation of human CDH is essential to translating research findings into clinical practice and understanding disease mechanisms. This article emphasizes the importance of validating the lamb model to study CDH pathogenesis and develop innovative therapeutics.

Introduction: There is a dearth of evidence to document treatment of FMS-like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3)-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in real-world settings before the introduction of FLT3 inhibitors. A retrospective cohort study was conducted to understand treatment practices prior to the availability of FLT3 inhibitors in patients with FLT3-mutated AML from two registries in France.
Methods: Patient data from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2017 were collected from the Hauts-de-France and Midi-Pyrénées registries.

Extreme hypofractionation in adjuvant breast radiotherapy currently generates a lot of interest. We propose here a synthesis of hypofractionation trials and present the DESTHE COL and DESTHE GR projects, encouraged by the French National Cancer Institute (INCa), which experiment care pathways in order to deploy effective strategies to de-escalate the therapeutics and to reduce sequelae after cancer treatment.

Background: Increasing evidence links genetic defects affecting actin-regulatory proteins to diseases with severe autoimmunity and autoinflammation, yet the underlying molecular mechanisms are poorly understood. Dedicator of cytokinesis 11 (DOCK11) activates the small Rho guanosine triphosphatase (GTPase) cell division cycle 42 (CDC42), a central regulator of actin cytoskeleton dynamics. The role of DOCK11 in human immune-cell function and disease remains unknown.
