Introduction: Embryo selection is a major challenge in ART, especially since the generalization of single embryo transfer, and its optimization could lead to the improvement of clinical results in IVF. Recently, several Artificial Intelligence (AI) models, based on deep-learning such as iDAScore, have been developed. These models, trained on time-lapse videos of embryos with known implantation data, can predict the probability of pregnancy for a given embryo, allowing automatization and standardization in embryo selection.

Study Question: Can ovarian tissue cryopreservation (OTC) be performed after controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH)?
Summary Answer: Unilateral oophorectomy after transvaginal oocyte retrieval is feasible on stimulated ovaries during one surgical step.
What Is Known Already: In the fertility preservation (FP) field, the timeframe between patient referral and start of curative treatment is limited. Combining oocyte pick-up with ovarian tissue (OT) extraction has been reported to improve FP but COH applied before OT extraction is not currently recommended.

Introduction: Benchtop incubators with small individual chambers have been developed in order to improve the stability of embryo culture conditions reducing the environmental stress during the embryo development. These new dry incubators were designed without any air humidification system in order to prevent bacterial proliferation and to enable the use of time-lapse system. However, an elevated evaporation of the culture media could occur in these conditions.

Aims: Could metaphase 1 (M1) and 2 (M2) stages oocytes from in vitro maturation (IVM) cycles and controlled-ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) cycles be frozen at the same time without any adverse effect of vitrification on further survival (SR) and maturation rates (MR)?
Materials & Methods: M1 from cancer patients were prospectively included in IVM/COH groups, and in study or control subgroups if they were vitrified or not. In each study subgroup, SR were compared with that of M2 oocytes vitrified/warmed from egg donors. MR were compared with those of fresh-M1 oocytes from control IVM/COH subgroups.

Objectives: Oocyte vitrification using an open device is thought to be a source of microbiological and chemical contaminations that can be avoided using a closed device. The principal purpose of this study was to compare the two vitrification protocols: closed and open system. The secondary aim was to study the effects of the storage in the vapor phase of nitrogen (VPN) on oocytes vitrified using an open system and to compare it to those of a storage in liquid nitrogen (LN).

Background: The optimal therapeutic strategy for patients with high-risk acute coronary syndrome without ST-segment elevation (NSTE-ACS) remains unclear.
Objective: Our aim was to compare the effectiveness of an early invasive strategy and a delayed invasive strategy in the management of high-risk NSTE-ACS patients.
Methods: This randomized clinical trial in a primarily pre-hospital setting enrolled patients with chest pain, electrocardiographic criteria for an NSTE-ACS, and at least one criterion of severity (ESC criterion or TIMI score >5).

The selection of the individual spermatozoon in intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is routinely performed by the observation of its motility and morphology. However, in case of severe oligoasthenozoospermia or non-obstructive azoospermia requiring the use of testicular sperm, other methods are necessary to help the embryologist making this choice. According to some authors, sperm processing before ICSI seems to limit the DNA fragmentation index, and in this way improves ICSI outcomes.

This work aims to show, from data available in the literature and our own experience, how embryos' vitrification change and/or improve the management of infertile couples. In all, 652 cycles of frozen-thawed embryo transfers (FET) following vitrification were prospectively included and compared with 1126 FETs from slow freezing (SF) method. Primary end points were the (i) survival rate (SR) (% of embryos with>50% post-thaw intact blastomeres) and (ii) intact survival rate (ISR) (% of embryos with 100% post-thaw intact blastomeres).

Objective: We aimed to define clinical criteria from the patients related to the occurrence of live birth in case of elective single embryo transfer (eSET).
Study Design: We analyzed retrospectively 409 eSET at day 2/3 between March 2005 and July 2012, proposed in case of (i) woman's age <37 years, (ii) first/second IVF0 cycle, (iii) ≥2 good quality embryos obtained (3-5/6-10 blastomeres at day 2/3 and <20% fragmentation), including one top embryo (4/8 cells). In all, 124/409 live births (30.

Objective: The aim of this study was to examine whether injection of first-best morphology grade selected spermatozoa improves live birth rate (LBR) compared to intracytoplasmic morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI) using second-best grade sperm.
Study Design: In this prospective observational study, 132 patients were enrolled. Inclusion criteria were the presence of severe male factor (normal spermatozoa <10% in fresh ejaculated semen and <10% in selected sperm according to David's classification) associated with ≤2 previous ICSI failure.

Assisted reproductive technologies (ARTS) are used for more than 30 years to help infertile couples. Concerns about long-term health of children conceived following ART have led to start follow-up studies. Despite methodological limitations and discrepant results, many of the studies and meta-analyses have reported an increased risk of birth defects after ART.

Ectopic pregnancy is a common problem usually diagnosed at an early stage and often in an emergency situation. Both medical and surgical treatments can be used for its management. In case of surgical treatment, laparoscopy rather than open surgery must be practiced.

In this prospective observational study, the onset of a clinical pregnancy after elective single embryo transfer (eSET) was significantly associated with: 1) the woman's age as well as the number of good- and top-quality embryos; and 2) the day of the embryo transfer (day 3>day 2). Good-quality embryos had the same ability to implant, regardless of the zygotic score, the day 1 early cleavage rate, the fragmentation degree, and the top-quality assessment, specifying the eligibility criteria for eSET.

A retrospective analysis of a 5-year rescue intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) experience performed in 17 cases of complete IVF fertilization failure showed that the ongoing pregnancy rate per embryo transfer (ET) is much higher in a subsequent frozen-thawed cycles (40%, 2/5) than following a fresh ET (6.7%, 1/15). These results suggest that cryopreservation of all embryos, subsequently used in frozen-thawed cycles, might improve rescue ICSI outcome throughout a better synchronization of the embryo development with the endometrium.
