Introduction: This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of coloring activity of circular symmetrical shape with complex patterns, so-called mandala, on anxiety associated with chronic illness in three different ambulatory medical situations (general consultation, psychiatric day hospital, and hemodialysis session).
Methods: Thirty patients were included in three groups and came from three different ambulatory medical situations: a hemodialysis group ( = 10), a psychiatric day hospital group ( = 10), and a nephrology consultation group ( = 10). We asked the patients to fill STAI-S and STAI-T questionnaires before to color complex circular shape with complex patterns, then to fill the STAI-S questionnaire again and a questionnaire on the experience of the activity.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation has become the preferred method of aortic valve replacement in the elderly. Preoperative standardized geriatric assessment (SGA) helps guide the decision to proceed, taking into account geriatric parameters not targeted by surgical risk scores. This is a descriptive, retrospective study of patients who underwent EGS at the Toulouse University Hospital, analyzing their length of stay and postoperative care pathway.

Introduction: Obtaining vascular access is crucial in critically ill patients. The EZ-IO® device is easy to use and has a high insertion success rate. Therefore, the use of intraosseous vascular access (IOVA) has gradually increased.

Background: Remote monitoring (RM) of cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) patients is now considered standard of care. However, a fundamental requirement of RM is continuous connectivity between the patient's implanted device and the CIED manufacturer's central server. This study examined the rate of RM disconnections in CIED recipients and the impact of short message service (SMS) to facilitate reconnections.

Background: The early identification of sepsis presenting a high risk of deterioration is a daily challenge to optimise patient pathway. This is all the most crucial in the prehospital setting to optimize triage and admission into the appropriate unit: emergency department (ED) or intensive care unit (ICU). We report the association between the prehospital National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS-2) and in-hospital, 30 and 90-day mortality of SS patients cared for in the pre-hospital setting by a mobile ICU (MICU).

Severe ventriculomegaly is a rare congenital brain defect, usually detected in utero, of poor neurodevelopmental prognosis. This ventricular enlargement can be the consequence of different mechanisms: either by a disruption of the cerebrospinal fluid circulation or abnormalities of its production/absorption. The aqueduct stenosis is one of the most frequent causes of obstructive ventriculomegaly, however, fewer than 10 genes have been linked to this condition and molecular bases remain often unknown.

To quantify transplacental transmission of SARS-CoV-2 virus and antibody transfer in pregnant women and their newborns according to the gestational age at maternal infection. A prospective observational multicenter study including pregnant women with a positive RT-PCR or a positive serology for SARS-CoV-2 and compatible symptoms, from April to December 2020, in 11 French maternities. The study was designed to obtain a systematic collection of mother-infant dyad's samples at birth.

Objective: We aimed to compare the detectability of optic disc drusen (ODD), using various non-invasive imaging techniques, including the novel retro-mode imaging (RMI), as well as to analyze the morphological characteristics of ODD on RMI.
Methods: This study involved seven patients with bilateral ODD, totaling 14 eyes. Multimodal imaging techniques, including multicolor fundus photography (MC), near-infrared reflectance (NIR), green and blue light fundus autofluorescence (G-FAF and B-FAF, respectively), and RMI were used to examine the eyes.

We present a case report on sclerochoroidal calcification (SCC), a rare condition involving calcium pyrophosphate deposits in the posterior pole of the eye in a 70-year-old patient. We provide an account of the clinical presentation and its appearance in multimodal images, using color fundus photography, swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT), ocular ultrasound, and the novel retro-mode imaging (RMI) technique. Visual acuity was 20/25 in the right eye (OD) and 20/20 in the left eye (OS).

Background: Endotracheal tube fixation in ventilated patients must be appropriate to ensure security during mechanical ventilation and prevent skin lesions. The incidence of endotracheal tube-caused pressure ulcers ranges from 7% to 45%. Various endotracheal tube fixations are used in intensive care units (ICUs) worldwide.

JCO Osimertinib has been established as a standard of care for patients with common sensitizing -mutant advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) although the sequential approach (first-generation inhibitor gefitinib followed by osimertinib) has not been formally compared. The phase II APPLE trial (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT02856893) enrolled 156 treatment-naïve patients, and two treatment strategies were evaluated: osimertinib up front or the sequential treatment approach with gefitinib up front followed by osimertinib at the time of progression, either molecular progression (detection of plasma T790M resistance mutation) regardless of the radiologic status or just at the time of radiologic progression.

Introduction: Cancer-related pulmonary embolism (PE) is associated with poor prognosis. Some decision rules identifying patients eligible for home treatment categorize cancer patients at high risk of complications, precluding home treatment. We sought to assess the effectiveness and the safety of outpatient management of patients with low-risk cancer-associated PE.

Purpose: To describe the rationale and design of the VOYAGER (NCT05476926) study, which aims to investigate the safety and effectiveness of faricimab and the Port Delivery System with ranibizumab (PDS) for neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) or diabetic macular edema (DME) in clinical practice. VOYAGER also aims to understand drivers of clinical practice treatment outcomes by gaining novel insight into the intersection of treatment regimens, decisions, anatomic outcomes, and vision.
Design: Primary data collection, noninterventional, prospective, multinational, multicenter clinical practice study.

Introduction: Contradictions remain on the impact of interhospital competition on the quality of care, mainly the mortality. The aim of the study is to evaluate the impact of interhospital competition on postoperative mortality after surgery for colorectal cancer in France.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cross-sectional study from 2015 to 2019.
