Calorie restriction (CR) is a dietary intervention used to promote health and longevity. CR causes various metabolic changes in both the production and the circulation of metabolites; however, it remains unclear which altered metabolites account for the physiological benefits of CR. Here we use metabolomics to analyse metabolites that exhibit changes in abundance during CR and perform subsequent functional validation.

Ectopic pregnancy, defined as the implantation of a developing pregnancy outside of the endometrial cavity of the uterus, is the leading cause of early-pregnancy maternal mortality. The majority of ectopic pregnancies implant in a fallopian tube. Acute complications may include rupture of the fallopian tube or rupture of ectopic pregnancy, haemorrhage and hypovolaemic shock, or occur secondary to treatments such as emergency surgery or blood transfusions, and ultimately increase the risk of maternal death.

Genital gender-affirming masculinization surgeries require handling of small vessels and nerves handling in deep planes. Since the introduction of the Symani Surgical System for robotic-assisted microsurgery in clinical practice, its value in handling small and deep vessels via additional distal motion axes, motion scaling, and tremor elimination has been demonstrated. We combined the Symani with the robotic exoscope RoboticScope to achieve maximum flexibility and ergonomics for the microsurgeon.

Introduction: Hysterosalpingography (HSG) and hysterosalpingo-foam sonography (HyFoSy) are commonly used tubal patency tests during the fertility work-up. Besides its diagnostic purpose, HSG with oil-based contrast can also be applied for its fertility-enhancing effect, by tubal flushing. HyFoSy is considered as less painful compared with HSG, it lacks exposure to iodinated contrast medium and ionising radiation.

Background: To prevent the transfer of embryos affected by monogenic conditions and/or chromosomal defects, preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) requires trophectoderm biopsy and cryopreservation. In 2-6% of biopsies, the diagnosis may be inconclusive due to DNA amplification failure or low-quality results. In these cases, a round of re-warming, re-biopsy, and re-cryopreservation is required to obtain a genetic diagnosis.

Objective: maturation (IVM) is an advanced technique and an alternative to conventional fertilization (IVF). It is safe, effective, and cost-effective in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). However, no clinical guidelines state that IVM could work without compromised pregnancy outcomes in patients with PCOS.

Objective: To investigate pregnant women's preferences for risks of vaginal and caesarean birth, including possible impacts on future fertility.
Methods: In this discrete choice experiment, low-risk nulliparous pregnant women recruited after 28 weeks of gestation evaluated eight choice sets, each between two different hypothetical births scenarios which intermixed the risks of planned caesarean or vaginal birth. Scenarios consisted of six attributes: pain, maternal health, neonatal health, risk of unplanned intervention, impact on fertility and risk of complications in the next pregnancy.

Background: Traditional methods of training in ultrasound technology make it difficult for postgraduate reproductive medicine students to rapidly develop into doctors who can perform clinical examinations independently. It is necessary to explore an efficient method for ultrasound training. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the step-by-step (SBS) teaching improves the ultrasound diagnosis and clinical work level of reproductive medicine graduate students.

The need for fertility education arises from changing patterns of family formation in recent times. Young people feel unprepared for how best to plan their career and family and have little idea of the various factors that may influence their fertility later in their life. Research shows young people would like to know more and need the information to be conveyed in a way that is engaging and helps them to integrate it at their current life stage.

The prevalent histological variant within differentiated thyroid carcinoma is papillary thyroid carcinoma, also known as PTC. The study investigated the clinical performance of serum hsa_circ_0001955 in predicting the prognosis of PTC treated with radical thyroidectomy and iodine 131 nail clearance. The relative expression of serum circ_0001955 of PTC patients was detected before and after accepting radical thyroidectomy combined with 131I thyroid remnant ablation by RT-qPCR.

Ribosomal RNA (18S, 5.8S, 28S) gene clusters in genomes form regions that consist of multiple tandem repeats. They are located on a single or several pairs of chromosomes and play an important role in the formation of the nucleolus responsible for the assembly of ribosome subunits.

Study Question: Does offering the Pleasure&Pregnancy (P&P) programme rather than expectant management improve naturally conceived ongoing pregnancy rates in couples diagnosed with unexplained infertility?
Summary Answer: The P&P programme had no effect on the ongoing pregnancy rates of couples with unexplained infertility.
What Is Known Already: Underpowered studies suggested that face-to-face interventions targeting sexual health may increase pregnancy rates. The impact of an eHealth sexual health programme had yet to be evaluated by a large randomized controlled trial.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) represents a significant cause of infertility among women of reproductive age. Studies have established a close association between granulosa cells (GCs) and the abnormal follicle formation and ovulation processes characteristic of PCOS. The interactions among hsa_circ_0043533, miR-409-3p, and BCL2 were verified through luciferase activity assays.

To analyze whether combinations of polymorphisms within FSHR gene influence ovarian response (OR) to stimulation. A multicenter prospective cohort study was conducted from 11/2016-06/2019 in Europe and Asia including predicted normo-responders under 38y. Patients underwent ovarian stimulation using fixed-dose 150 IU rFSH in a GnRH antagonist protocol.

Introduction: Intrauterine transfusion of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has become a new treatment for thin endometrium (TE) in recent years, but its low efficacy due to rapid release of growth factors limits its clinical use. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) starts the coagulation cascade reaction immediately after the blood comes into contact with the test tube. The natural coagulation process results in stable platelet activation and the slow release of growth factors.

Objectives: To evaluate whether embryo transfers at blastocyst stage improve the cumulative live birth rate after oocyte retrieval, including both fresh and frozen-thawed transfers, and whether the risk of obstetric and perinatal complications is increased compared with cleavage stage embryo transfers during in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment.
Design: Multicentre randomised controlled trial.

Study Question: How do transfeminine adolescents and their parents experience fertility preservation via testicular sperm extraction (TESE)?
Summary Answer: Participants experienced the TESE process positively when provided with appropriate guidance to navigate the decisional dilemma between preserving future biological parenthood and the pressure to start puberty suppression early.
What Is Known Already: Sperm banking through ejaculation is not feasible for all transfeminine adolescents due to genital dysphoria and early puberty; for this group, TESE is the only alternative. However, during early puberty, they must postpone or pause puberty suppression until spermatogenesis is fully developed.
