Objective: to analyze maternal knowledge about infant development and its matching to the care offered to children during their first year of life.
Method: a longitudinal and prospective study, in the stages of pregnancy and of the child's 12th/13th month of life. Interviews were applied to 121 women in a Brazilian city, based on 21 items selected from the Knowledge of Infant Development Inventory, related to the first year of life.

Aim: To determine if parental presence, involvement in infant care, holding, skin-to-skin contact (SSC), perceived family-centered care, depression symptoms, and sociodemographic characteristics are associated with the emotional closeness of parents with an infant hospitalized at the NICU.
Study Design: This longitudinal descriptive study was conducted in two Canadian level-three NICUs.

Aim: We examined if a range of factors were associated with how ready mothers were for their infants to be discharged from a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Methods: This was a secondary analysis of a study on the well-being of mothers whose infants were hospitalised in the level 3 NICU at the Jewish General Hospital in Canada. We studied 132 mother-infant dyads: 70 from an open ward NICU and 62 from the purpose-built NICU with pods or single-family rooms that replaced it in 2016.

The aim of this study is to analyze the exercise of rights to legal capacity, personal freedom, and safety during psychiatric hospitalizations at a general hospital in an inner city from the state of São Paulo, Brazil, from the perspective of patients. This is a cross-sectional qualitative research study. Data were collected by interviewing 20 patients in the process of being discharged from the studied hospital who agreed to participate in the investigation.

In the neonatal intensive care unit, preterm infants undergo many painful procedures. Although these can impair their neurodevelopment if not properly managed, only half of the painful procedures are optimally handled. This cross-sectional study aimed to evaluate nurses' perceptions of preterm infants' pain, to evaluate nurses' pain assessment and management practices, as well as to identify the individual and contextual factors that influence nurses' assessments and interventions for pain management.

Background: Patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) often have limited ability to communicate making it more difficult to identify and effectively treat their pain. Family caregivers or close friends of critically ill patients may be able to identify signs of pain before the clinical care team and could potentially assist in routine pain assessments. This study will adapt the Critical Care Pain Observation Tool (CPOT) for use by family members to create the CPOT-Fam and compare family CPOT-Fam assessments with nurse-provided CPOT assessments for a given patient.

Backgroud And Aims: Hypertension (HTN) is a multifactorial chronic disease. Considering the high prevalence rates of this disease, treatment of HTN is necessary, not only to reduce blood pressure (BP) levels but also to prevent the development of cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and kidney diseases. This treatment can be through medication, which will be determined according to the BP values, obtained either in medical consultations or at home; presence of cardiovascular risk factors, and the presence of target organ damage identified during anamnesis.

Background: Physiotherapy can include both device-guided slow breathing (DGSB) and nondevice-guided slow breathing (NDGSB) in the treatment of systemic arterial hypertension.
Objective: The aim of this study is to summarize the effects of DGSB on blood pressure levels of patients with hypertension based on the published literature to date.
Methods: A systematic search of all published randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the effects of device-guided and nondevice-guided slow breathing in patients with hypertension, without language restriction, was carried out up to a publication date of January 2020 in nine databases: PubMed/MEDLINE, Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature (LILACS), EMBASE, CENTRAL (Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials), Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro), CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature), Scopus, Web of Science, and Livivo.
