Background: A compelling hypothesis about attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) etiopathogenesis is that the ADHD phenotype reflects a delay in cortical maturation. Slow-wave activity (SWA) of non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep electroencephalogram (EEG) is an electrophysiological index of sleep intensity reflecting cortical maturation. Available data on ADHD and SWA are conflicting, and developmental differences, or the effect of pharmacological treatment, are relatively unknown.

Similar to addictive substances, addictive behaviours such as gambling and gaming are associated with maladaptive modulation of key brain areas and functional networks implicated in learning and memory. Therefore, this review sought to understand how different learning and memory processes relate to behavioural addictions and to unravel their underlying neural mechanisms. Adhering to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, we systematically searched four databases - PsycINFO, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science using the agreed-upon search string.

A series of a novel CAAC ligands featuring a spiro-fluorene group have been synthesized and complexed with ruthenium alkylidenes, yielding the corresponding Hoveyda-type derivatives as a new family of olefin metathesis catalysts. The novel complexes have been characterized by XRD, HRMS and NMR measurements. The synthetised complexes were tested in catalysis and showed good activity in olefin metathesis, as demonstrated on diethyl diallylmalonate and allyl acetate substrates.

In this context, small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) is a powerful tool to determine the particle size and concentration traceable to the Système international d'unités (SI). Therefore, absolute measurements of the scattering cross-section must be performed, which require precise knowledge of all experimental parameters, such as the electron density of solvent and particles, whereas the latter is often unknown.

This research shows the detailed comparison of Raman and near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy as Process Analytical Technology tools for the real-time monitoring of a protein purification process. A comprehensive investigation of the application and model development of Raman and NIR spectroscopy was carried out for the real-time monitoring of a process-related impurity, imidazole, during the tangential flow filtration of Receptor-Binding Domain (RBD) of the SARS-CoV-2 Spike protein. The fast development of Raman and NIR spectroscopy-based calibration models was achieved using offline calibration data, resulting in low calibration and cross-validation errors.

In this work, comprehensive ab initio quantum chemical calculations using the DFT level of theory were performed to characterize the stabilization interactions (H-bonding and hyperconjugation effects) of two stable symmetrical conformations of α-, β-, and γ-cyclodextrins (CDs). For this purpose, we analyzed the electron density using "Atom in molecules" (AIM), "Natural Bond Orbital" (NBO), and energy decomposition method (CECA) in 3D and in Hilbert space. We also calculated the H-bond lengths and OH vibrational frequencies.
