The development of a metallic copper-based catalyst system remains a significant challenge. Herein, we report the synthesis of highly stable, active, and reusable Cu0 catalyst for the carboboration of alkynes using carbon electrophiles and bis(pinacolato)diboron (B2pin2) as chemical feedstocks to afford di- and trisubstituted vinylboronate esters in a regio- and stereoselective manner with appreciable turnover number (TON) of up to 2535 under mild reaction conditions. This three-component coupling reaction works well with a variety of substituted electrophiles and alkynes with broad functional group tolerance.

In this study, a series of new methoxy ester functionalized core fluorinated, chloro-fluorinated azobenzene derivatives were synthesized. The molecular structures of the azobenzene derivatives (3a-3c and 4a-4c) were confirmed through various analytical methods, with variations in the alkoxy chain length on one end of the aromatic ring. Optical absorption studies of 3a, 3b revealed π-π* transitions around 368-392 nm.

The unique features of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), including structural flexibility, high surface area, and variable pore size, have drawn attention in cancer therapy. However, despite advances in surface functionalization, engineering structural features, and porosity, achieving controlled release, stability, scalability, and toxicity remains a challenge. The current study reports gold nanoparticle (AuNP) encapsulated dual metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) comprising zeolitic imidazolate (ZIF8) and cobalt-imidazole (ZIF67) by a simple precipitation method for dual drug delivery applications.

Cancer biomarkers are crucial indicators found in clinical samples, playing a key role in early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Detecting these biomarkers with high sensitivity is essential for early diagnosis, especially in aggressive cancers like lung cancer, which is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is a critical biomarker for lung cancer, and its detection aids in identifying the disease at an early stage.

Incredible properties of quantum dots (QDs) have once again been acclaimed with this year's (2023) Nobel prize in chemistry. On the other hand, the invention of multicolour molecular imaging of cell surface receptors for tumour diagnosis by Koyama and group has opened up a new era in diagnostics. Among them carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are interesting class of fluorescent nanomaterials, superior in terms of low toxicity, high solubility and biocompatibility along with simple and cost-effective synthesis processes unlike the traditional metal chalcogenide or perovskite quantum dots.

We report herein a directing group-controlled, palladium-catalyzed, regio-, stereo-, and enantiospecific anti-carboxylation of unactivated, internal allenes enabled via the synergistic interplay of a rationally designed bidentate directing group, palladium catalyst, and a multifunctional acetate ligand. The corresponding trans allyl ester was obtained in excellent yields with exclusive δ-regioselectivity and anti-carboxypalladation stereocontrol. The acetate ligand of the palladium catalyst controls the regio-, stereo- and enantioselectivity in the desired transformation.

Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB/Mtb) is the causative agent of tuberculosis (TB), a highly infectious serious airborne illness. TB usually affects the lungs, in 25 % of patients (children or immune impaired adults), mycobacteria can enter the blood stream and infect other bodily areas such the meninges, pleura, lymphatic system, genitourinary system, bones, and joints. Currently, the most challenging aspect of treating this illness is the ineffectiveness of the most potent first-line anti-TB medications, isoniazid, rifampin, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol, which can result in multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB), extensively drug-resistant TB (XDR-TB), and in rare instances, completely drug-resistant TB (TDR-TB).

The paper describes the construction of a new series of pyrimidinone-linked thiazole derivatives through bromination of the initial Biginelli reaction product followed by the Hantzsch thiazole synthesis route. Various analytical techniques, including FT-IR, H NMR, C NMR, and LCMS analysis, were employed to confirm the formation of the products. The synthesized compounds were primarily evaluated for their antibacterial activity, with a specific focus on their IC values.

The development of photocatalysts must be meticulous, especially when they are designed to degrade hazardous dyes that cause mutagenesis and carcinogenesis. In this meticulous approach, Ni-based metal-organic frameworks with different ligands, including terephthalic acid (NTP), 2-aminoterephthalic acid (NATP), and their composite with g-CN (NTP/GCN, and NATP/GCN) have been synthesized using hydrothermal method. Structural analysis by XRD and ATR-IR revealed synergistic properties due to robust chemical interactions between the NATP-MOFs and GCN systems.

Self-adaptive thermoregulation, the mechanism living organisms use to balance their temperature, holds great promise for decarbonizing cooling and heating processes. This functionality can be effectively emulated by engineering the thermal emissivity of materials to adapt to background temperature variations. Yet, solutions that marry large emissivity switching ( ) with scalability, cost-effectiveness, and design freedom are still lacking.

This research work reports the synthesis of copper oxide (CuO) nanoparticles supported on activated carbon by a simple impregnation method using 2-propanol as a green solvent, followed by calcination. The synthesized CuO@C is used as an efficient heterogeneous nanocatalyst for the synthesis of 2-indazoles and quinazolines utilizing commercially available 2-bromobenzaldehydes, primary amines, and sodium azide under ligand-free and base-free conditions. The present methodology demonstrates the formation of new N-N, C-N, and C═N bonds under one-pot reaction conditions using PEG-400 as a green solvent.

Monolayer 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) show high sensitivity to the local dielectric environment, leading to modulation of their optoelectronic properties. Here, we report on the formation of localized trions in a MoS/few-layer graphene van der Waals heterostructure. We performed temperature-dependent photoluminescence and Raman studies down to 80 K, to understand the mechanism for localized charge excitation, which shows contrasting behaviour with MoS/SiO.

Solid-state polymer electrolytes (SSPEs) are promising materials for Li-ion batteries due to their enhanced safety features, which are crucial for preventing short circuits and explosions, replacing traditional liquid electrolytes with solid electrolytes are increasingly important to improve battery reliability and lifespan. There are essentially three-types of solid-state electrolytes such as solid polymer electrolyte, composite based polymer electrolyte and gel-based polymer electrolyte are largely used in battery applications. Additionally, battery separators must have high ionic conductivity and porosity to boost safety and performance.

This study applied electrokinetic (EK) in situ soil remediation for perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) removal from kaolinite soil. The kaolinite soil was spiked with 10 mg/kg PFOA for the EK treatment using Sodium Cholate bio-surfactant coupled with Activated Carbon (AC) or iron-coated Activated Carbon (FeAC) permeable reactive barrier (PRB). The study also evaluated the impact of AC and FeAC PRBs' position on the EK process performance.
