Introduction: In low-and-middle-income-countries (LMIC), viral suppression is defined as plasma viral load (PVL) below 1000 copies/mL (low-level viremia [LLV]) and threshold for HIV drug resistance (HIVDR) testing. However, there is evidence that drug resistance mutations (DRMs) may emerge at LLV, thus compromising antiretroviral treatment (ART) response We evaluated sequencing success rates (SSR) at LLV, described HIVDR profiles and adequacy with potential efficacy of tenofovir-lamivudine-dolutegravir (TLD).
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among individuals with LLV at the Chantal BIYA International Reference Centre, Yaoundé, Cameroon from January 2020 through August 2021.

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, seasonal influenza virus circulation was heavily suppressed worldwide. In Australia, since the virus re-emerged in 2022, shifts in seasonal influenza patterns have been observed. Both the 2022 and 2023 seasons started earlier than pre-pandemic norms and were categorised as moderate to severe, highlighting the renewed importance of prevention strategies for seasonal influenza.

The intrinsic compromise between strength and toughness in composite epoxy resins significantly constrains their practical applications. In this study, a novel strategy is introduced, leveraging interfacial π-π stacking interactions to induce the "rolling behavior" of microsphere fillers, thereby facilitating efficient energy dissipation. This approach is corroborated through theoretical simulations and experimental validation.

To analyze awareness, willingness, the status of using, and related factors of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) in men who have sex with men (MSM) in Shaanxi Province to provide a reference for the next step of HIV prevention and control strategy. Using a cross-sectional study design from March to May 2022, with the assistance of MSM social organizations in Xi'an, relying on the network platform and MSM Social organizations, a convenient sampling method was used to recruit MSM with an estimated sample size of 900. The inclusion criteria were male aged ≥18, having had same-sex sexual intercourse in the last twelve months, HIV-negative or unknown status of infection.

Rwanda Joint Task Force for Marburg Virus Disease Outbreak, Ministry of Health, Rwanda Biomedical Centre, Kigali, Rwanda.
The ongoing outbreak of Marburg virus disease (MVD) in Rwanda marks the third largest historically, though it has exhibited the lowest fatality rate. Genomic analysis of samples from 18 cases identified a lineage with limited internal diversity, closely related to a 2014 Ugandan case. Our findings suggest that the Rwandan lineage diverged decades ago from a common ancestor shared with diversity sampled from bats in Uganda.

Background: Cluster analysis provides an effective approach in stratifying prediabetes into different subgroups; however, the association of the cluster-based subgroups with prediabetes progression and regression has not been investigated. We aimed to address this issue in a Chinese population.
Methods: A total of 4,128 participants with prediabetes were included to generate cluster-based subgroups of prediabetes based on age, body mass index (BMI), triglyceride-and-glucose (TyG) index, and hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), using a k-means clustering model.

Paratyphoid B fever (PTB) is caused by an invasive lineage (phylogroup 1, PG1) of Salmonella enterica serotype Paratyphi B (SPB). However, little was known about the global population structure, geographic distribution, and evolution of this pathogen. Here, we report a whole-genome analysis of 568 historical and contemporary SPB PG1 isolates, obtained globally, between 1898 and 2021.

Objective: Unintentional injuries are a major threat to children's health. Community-based health management services, which include the prevention of unintentional injuries among children aged 0-6 years, are important basic national public health services. However, deficiencies exist at this stage, such as community childcare doctors not being motivated to provide guidance.

Background: Seroprevalence studies across various countries can contribute to achieving the elimination target for measles and rubella. However, in the Mainland of China, the concept of herd immunity remains unclear due to the lack of a nationwide serosurvey.
Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted by retrieving literature reporting the seroprevalence of measles and rubella published between 2012 and 2023.

Objectives: Following the outbreak of hepatitis E in camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Borno State in 2017, we assessed hepatitis B, C, and E biomarkers (hepatitis B surface antigen [HBsAg], anti-HBC, anti-hepatitis E virus [HEV] immunoglobulin [Ig] G, and anti-HEV IgM) among IDPs in three camps in Borno State, Nigeria, to determine seroprevalence rates in these understudied populations.
Methods: A total of 454 IDPs, including pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, were randomly selected, and their demographic, clinical, and epidemiological data were collected. Blood samples were tested for HBsAg and anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) using rapid tests, anti-HEV IgM, and anti-HEV IgG using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) represents a significant global health threat, with a disproportionately high disease burden in low and middle-income regions (LMIRs). Estimating the prevalence of RSV infection at the community levels remains a huge challenge, particularly in LMIRs where clinical data are scarce. In this study, we first detected RSV RNA in the fecal samples from 300 patients to understand the fecal shedding patterns of RSV.

Objectives: The study aimed to explore the effects of post-discharge physical exercise combined with co-managed care on health the outcomes of older patients with hip fracture.
Methods: Based on a completed non-randomised controlled trial which evaluated a co-managed care of patients aged 65 years and above with hip fracture, provided by orthopedists and geriatricians within an acute setting, a retrospective post-hoc factorial analysis was further conducted. The analysis observed the health outcomes of older patients with post-discharge physical exercise combined with co-managed care within hospitals compared to those had either post-discharge physical exercise or co-managed care.

Background: Hip fracture and multimorbidity represent significant health challenges for older people. Despite evidence that orthogeriatric co-management improves hip fracture management and patients' health outcomes, there is little evidence to understand its effectiveness for patients with multimorbidity. The study aimed to assess the effect of the orthogeriatric co-management care model on older hip fracture patients with multimorbidity.
