The study proposes a simple and efficient way to synthesize a heterogeneous catalyst that can be used for the degradation of organic dyes. A simple and fast chemical process was employed to synthesize Au: Ni: Co tri-metal nanohybrid structures, which were used as a catalyst to eliminate toxic organic dye contamination from wastewater in textile industries. In this paper we have studied the density functional theory of four drugs ibuprofen, alendronate, Sulfasalazine and paracetamol with quartz, propylamine, trimethylamine functionalized quartz and carboxyl modified carbon nanotube. The attractive and repulsive interaction energies between drugs and quartz is obtained at various pH values. The attractive and repulsive energies are well correlated with experimental drug loading and releasing behavior by mesoporous silica nanoparticles.

Modelling the removal of monovalent and divalent ions from seawater via nanofiltration is crucial for pre-treatment in seawater reverse osmosis systems. Effective separation of divalent ions through nanofiltration and allowing the permeate containing only monovalent ions to pass through the reverse osmosis system produces pure NaCl salt from the concentrate. However, the Donnan steric pore model and dielectric exclusion assume a uniformly distributed cylinder pore morphology, which is not representative of the actual membrane structure.
