Objectives: The Bioethics Law of August 2nd, 2021 established access to origins for people conceived by gamete donation. Two years after the implementation of this disposition, what is the proportion of former gamete donors informed about access to origins, and what is their position on this matter? What could be the potential repercussions of this new law on them? .

Methods: Retrospective single-center cohort study using questionnaires Results: When former gamete donors were asked about access to origins, only 53 % of oocytes donors and 71 % of sperm donors were aware of this measure.

Rapid Selection of HIV-2 Capsid Mutations in Salvage Therapy with Lenacapavir-Containing Regimen.

Lenacapavir is the first capsid inhibitor, its use is currently approved for multidrug resistant HIV-1 infection. We report that, despite an initial efficacy of a LEN-containing regimen in patients with multi-drug resistant HIV-2 viruses, virological suppression was not achieved after a year and most patients selected capsid drug-resistance associated mutations.

[Use of hydroxychloroquine in recurrent immune-mediated obstetric diseases (excluding systemic lupus): Scientific basis and evidence].

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), a synthetic antimalarial, is recognized for its immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory and vascular-protective effects. In 20-30% of cases of primary obstetrical antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), the combination of antiplatelet aggregation and prophylactic anticoagulation fails to prevent obstetrical complications, a situation referred to as refractory obstetrical APS. This is partly due to the pro-inflammatory effects of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) binding to decidual and trophoblastic cells, which compromise embryonic implantation and placentation.

Evaluation of a New Tandem Mass Spectrometry Method for Sickle Cell Disease Newborn Screening.

In France, sickle cell disease newborn screening (SCD NBS) has been targeted to at-risk regions since 1984, but generalization to the whole population will be implemented from November 2024. Although tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) is already used for the NBS of several inherited metabolic diseases, its application for SCD NBS has not been widely adopted worldwide. The aim of this study was to evaluate a dedicated MS/MS kit (Targeted MS/MS Hemo, ZenTech, LaCAR Company, Liege, Belgium) for SCD NBS and to compare the results obtained with those from an NBS reference center using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight (MALDI-TOF) and cation-exchange high-performance liquid chromatography (CE-HPLC, Variant NBS, Biorad Laboratories, Inc.

Effect of oral nintedanib vs placebo on epistaxis in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia: the EPICURE multicenter randomized double-blind trial.

Epistaxis greatly affects patients with hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). Although few systemic treatment exist, nintedanib, is a good candidate thanks to its anti-angiogenic activity. Our main objective was to evaluate the efficacy of oral nintedanib on epistaxis duration in HHT patients with moderate to severe epistaxis.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors-associated vasculitis: a heterogeneous condition with possible severe disease course.

Objective: To describe presentation, treatment and outcome of immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) associated-vasculitis in cancer patients in a multicentre study.

Methods: Thanks to the ImmunoCancer International Registry (ICIR), a multidisciplinary network focused on the research of the immune related adverse events related to cancer immunotherapies, patients presenting with a clinical and/or radiological suspicion of vasculitis, and histological evidence of vasculitis after being exposed to ICIs were retrospectively identified.

Results: Twenty eight cases were identified in the ICIR registry.

Background: Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) with inadequate responses to standard therapies have unmet therapeutic needs. The immunomodulatory, proangiogenic, and antifibrotic properties of mesenchymal stromal cells support their use in treating patients with SLE. We aimed to assess the safety of a single intravenous infusion of allogeneic umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cells in patients with severe SLE.

Crystalline silica on the lung-environment interface: Impact on immunity, epithelial cells, and therapeutic perspectives for autoimmunity.

Crystalline silica (the most abundant form of silicon dioxide) is a natural element that is ubiquitous in the Earth's crust. Chronic personal or professional exposure has been implicated in various pathologies, including silicosis and autoimmune diseases since the early 20th century. More recently, a specific pathogenic role for crystalline silica has been identified through its impact on lung epithelial cells as well as immune cells present at this organism barrier.

[Six-month real-world outcomes of intravitreal clindamycin for ocular toxoplasmosis].

Objective: To evaluate in a real-world setting an intravitreal clindamycin treatment protocol for ocular toxoplasmosis.

Methods: This was a single-center, retrospective review with a 6-month follow-up. Our protocol proposed an IVT of clindamycin as first-line treatment, and management was chosen according to the patient's status (past medical history of ocular toxoplasmosis or not).

Diagnostic and prognostic value of quantitative cardiac magnetic resonance imaging biomarkers in systemic lupus erythematosus: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare CMR imaging biomarkers between SLE patients and matched controls.

Introduction: Transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis is a pathology increasingly encountered in all hospital departments, including internal medicine. Methods: Single-centre, quantitative, retrospective and descriptive study aimed at characterising the profile of patients referred to hospital by general practitioners in an internal medicine department in Strasbourg for rebalancing of their type 2 diabetes during the period from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2022.

Results: 167 files were analysed, resulting in the inclusion of 72 patients with an average age of 61.

Septic pseudarthrosis of long bones presents a diagnostic challenge, both in recognizing the infection as the cause of nonunion and in achieving complete healing of both the infection and the bone. A multidisciplinary approach optimizes the diagnosis, surgical management, and antibiotic treatment. The objectif is to present the approaches for the diagnosis and treatment of this condition.

Assessment of a next generation sequencing gene panel strategy in 133 patients with negative thrombophilia screening.

Background: Although heritability of venous thromboembolism (VTE) is high, the thrombophilia screening appears to be positive only in a minority of VTE patients. Adding rare variants screening to identify VTE missing heritability still requires further assessment.
