Purpose: The 2021 edition of the Artificial Intelligence Data Challenge was organized by the French Society of Radiology together with the Centre National d'Études Spatiales and CentraleSupélec with the aim to implement generative adversarial networks (GANs) techniques to provide 1000 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) cases of macrotrabecular-massive (MTM) hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a rare and aggressive subtype of HCC, generated from a limited number of real cases from multiple French centers.
Materials And Methods: A dedicated platform was used by the seven inclusion centers to securely upload their anonymized MRI examinations including all three cross-sectional images (one late arterial and one portal-venous phase T1-weighted images and one fat-saturated T2-weighted image) in compliance with general data protection regulation. The quality of the database was checked by experts and manual delineation of the lesions was performed by the expert radiologists involved in each center.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the feasibility, performance, and complications of a non-surgical, minimally-invasive procedure of deep contraceptive implant removal under continuous ultrasound guidance.
Methods: The ultrasound-guided procedure consisted of local anesthesia using lidocaine chlorhydrate 1% (10 mg/mL) with a 21-G needle, followed by hydrodissection using NaCl 0.9% (9 mg/mL) and implant extraction using a Hartmann grasping microforceps.

Background: Revision of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) requires preoperative assessment to identify the causes of failure. Multidetector computerised tomography (MDCT) is a commonly used imaging technique, but is sensitive to certain artifacts, such as metal implants, limiting its use. Cone-beam CT (CBCT) is a new technique dedicated to musculoskeletal imaging that is less sensitive to artifacts and could be utilised in knee implantation surgery.

Background: Musculoskeletal cone-beam CT (CBCT) recently appeared on the market, with image quality comparable to that of high-resolution CT. It was previously implemented mainly in craniofacial surgery and in orthopedic limb surgery for weight-bearing imaging, but without large-scale assessment in emergency settings. We therefore conducted a retrospective comparative study in an emergency radiology department: 1) to assess whether introduction of CBCT dedicated to extremity traumatology reduced radiation dose delivered to the patient undergoing cross-sectional imaging, 2) to assess whether it increased turnover, and 3) to study the feasibility and practical consequences.

Purpose: The goal of this data challenge was to create a structured dynamic with the following objectives: (1) teach radiologists the new rules of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), while building a large multicentric prospective database of ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) and MRI patient images; (2) build a network including radiologists, researchers, start-ups, large companies, and students from engineering schools, and; (3) provide all French stakeholders working together during 5 data challenges with a secured framework, offering a realistic picture of the benefits and concerns in October 2018.
Materials And Methods: Relevant clinical questions were chosen by the Société Francaise de Radiologie. The challenge was designed to respect all French ethical and data protection constraints.

Material And Methods: Two readers used speckle tracking sonography to evaluate scapholunate diastasis during a clenching fist manoeuver in 30 normal wrists. Scapholunate peak strain, mean scapholunate diastasis and the diastasis variation coefficient were analysed.

Objective: To evaluate intra-tumour and striated muscle T1 value heterogeneity and the influence of different methods of T1 estimation on the variability of quantitative perfusion parameters.
Material And Methods: Eighty-two patients with a histologically confirmed musculoskeletal tumour were prospectively included in this study and, with ethics committee approval, underwent contrast-enhanced MR perfusion and T1 mapping. T1 value variations in viable tumour areas and in normal-appearing striated muscle were assessed.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a complex systemic disease that induces mineral metabolic dysfunction leading to bone fragility and tissue calcifications. Bone abnormalities in CKD can include increased bone turnover and resorption due to secondary hyperparathyroidism, decreased bone turnover and bone formation, defective bone mineralization, or a mixed pattern of these abnormalities. Other features of musculoskeletal involvement include synovial, tendon, and ligament thickening due to β2-microglobulin amyloidosis, soft tissue masses, or axial and peripheral arthropathies.

Tractography (or fiber tracking) consists of three-dimensional modeling of the preferential movement of water molecules in the form of fiber tracks from the tensor field information. This technique allows a new approach for the microarchitectural analysis of anisotropic structures such as nerves, white matter, and muscles. Many disorders have been studied including cervical myelopathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, nerve root compression, and nerve tumors.

Percutaneous musculoskeletal procedures are widely accepted as low invasive, highly effective, efficient and safe methods in a vast amount of hip pathologies either in diagnostic or in therapeutic management. Hip intra-articular injections are used for the symptomatic treatment of osteoarthritis. Peritendinous or intrabursal corticosteroid injections can be used for the symptomatic treatment of greater trochanteric pain syndrome and anterior iliopsoas impingement.

Purpose: To assess the reproducibility of fat content (FC) values in five different anatomical areas of proximal femur by the means of (1)H 3 Tesla MR spectroscopy and to evaluate if any statistical difference exists when comparing right side to left side FC values in the same individual.
Materials And Methods: Thirty-three volunteers underwent unilateral (1)H MR spectroscopy of the hip. From 1 to 4 weeks later, they repeat the MR examination of the same hip to assess the reproducibility of the technique.

Objective: The purpose of our study was to demonstrate that ultrasonography may allow a precise assessment of the course and relationships of the spinal accessory nerve (SAN).
Material And Methods: This study, initially undertaken in 7 cadavers, was followed by high-resolution ultrasonographic study in 15 volunteers (30 nerves) by two radiologists in consensus. The location, course and relations to the adjacent anatomic structures of the SAN were analyzed.

Purpose: To compare tomosynthesis with radiography for the detection of hand and wrist bone erosions in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), using multidetector computed tomography (CT) as the reference method.
Materials And Methods: The study was approved by the local ethics committee, and written consent was obtained from all patients. From December 2008 to April 2009, 30 consecutive patients with RA were included in this prospective study.
