The term "event" covers a wide range of concrete situations in radiation oncology, from particularly intense radiation-related side effects to the possibility of technical or human error. Although quality procedures are an integral part of radiotherapy oncology department operations ensuring the analysis and prevention of such events, their occurrence during radiation treatment still has a significant impact on patients and their experience of the treatment process, as well as on health professionals. These practical, emotional and symbolic impacts are all the greater when the event occurs in the aftermath of an error.

Progression or relapse in the central nervous system (CNS) remains a rare but mostly fatal event for patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). In a retrospective analysis of 5189 patients treated within 19 prospective German and French phase 2/3 trials, we identified 159 patients experiencing a CNS event (relapse: 62%, progression: 38%). Intracerebral, meningeal, intraspinal, or combined involvement was reported in 44%, 31%, 3%, and 22% of patients, respectively.

Obtaining consent to care requires the radiation oncologist to provide loyal information and to ensure that the patient understands it. Proof of such an approach rests with the practitioner. The French Society for Radiation Oncology (SFRO) does not recommend the signature of a consent form by the patient but recommends that the radiation oncologist be able to provide all the elements demonstrating the reality of a complete information circuit.

Cumulative delivered dose of cisplatin is prognostic of survival, even beyond 200 mg/m but high toxicity compromises its delivery.
Aim: Cisplatin fractionation may allow, by decreasing the peak serum concentration, to decrease toxicity.

Purpose: Multiple studies have demonstrated that electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs) improve overall survival and quality of life in cancer care. However, there are no specific prospective data on remote ePRO monitoring in the older population, although they represent a significant proportion of patients with cancer.
Patients And Methods: From February 2021 to April 2022, patients age 75 years and older under active anticancer treatment were consecutively recruited in six institutions.

An increasing number of people are surviving cancer in Switzerland : 163,450 people were still alive in 2006 after a cancer diagnosis less than ten years prior, compared to 210,350 in 2016. However, most have to cope with debilitating emotional and physical aftereffects. A new 12-week rehabilitation program aims to restore patients' abilities.

Purpose: Previous studies have reported the benefit of dual HER2-targeting combined to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in HER2-amplified breast cancer (HER2 + BC). Moreover, besides the cardiac toxicity following their association to Trastuzumab, anthracyclines chemotherapy may not profit all patients. The NeoTOP study was designed to evaluate the complementary action of Trastuzumab and Pertuzumab, and the relevance of an anthracycline-based regimen according to TOP2A amplification status.

Purpose: Acute radiodermatitis (ARD) is a frequent side effect of radiotherapy, a therapeutic option for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). It is responsible for pain, quality of life (QoL) impairment, and increased risk of treatment discontinuation, which may compromise the prognosis for patients. Local therapies to prevent or alleviate ARD have been proposed without providing any high level of evidence to establish recommendations.

Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) is a rare but known and potentially severe side effect of drugs. The recent development of cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 (CDK4/6) inhibitors, such as ribociclib, has considerably improved the management of hormone receptor positive (HR+) and HER2 negative (HER2-) advanced breast cancer. Here, we present the case of an 83-year-old patient who developed a probable DRESS syndrome induced by ribociclib, presenting with fever, eosinophilia, rash, and hepatic cytolysis.

Introduction: Considering the growing interest in matched cancer treatment, our aim was to evaluate the ability of a comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) assay to propose at least one targeted therapy given an identified genomic alteration or signature (actionability), and to collect the treatment modifications based on the CGP test results in clinical practise for solid tumors.
Methods: This retrospective, multicentre French study was conducted among 25 centres that participated in a free of charge program between 2017 and 2019 for a tissue CGP test. Data were collected on the patient, disease, tumor genomic profile, treatment suggested in the report (related to the genomic profile results) and subsequent therapeutic decisions according to the physician's declaration.

Informing patients before receiving radiation therapy is a fundamental ethical imperative. As a condition of the possibility of autonomy, information allows people to make health decisions concerning themselves, which is required by French law. This information includes in particular the potential risks due to radiation therapy.

Upon myocardial infarction (MI), ischemia-induced cell death triggers an inflammatory response responsible for removing necrotic material and inducing tissue repair. TRPM4 is a Ca-activated ion channel permeable to monovalent cations. Although its role in cardiomyocyte-driven hypertrophy and arrhythmia post-MI has been established, no study has yet investigated its role in the inflammatory process orchestrated by endothelial cells, immune cells, and fibroblasts.

Most patients with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) can be cured with immunochemotherapy such as R-CHOP (rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisone). Patients with progression or relapse in the central nervous system (CNS) face dismal outcomes. The impact of more aggressive regimens used in frontline therapy has not been systematically investigated in this context.

Background: The prognosis of recurrent glioblastoma (GBM) is poor, with limited options of palliative localized or systemic treatments. Survival can be improved by a second localized treatment; however, it is not currently possible to identify which patients would benefit from this approach. This study aims to evaluate which factors lead to a lower Karnofsky performance status (KPS) score after fractionated stereotactic RT (fSRT).

Understood as a disruption of the conditions of care practice according to established protocols or procedures, crisis situations in radiation oncology departments can have multiple causes. Their seriousness can sometimes impose changes in the decision-making, organizational or technical paradigms. A possible consequence may be the need to make prioritization decisions in access to care, when there is a mismatch between the care needs of a population and the available health resources (whether technical or human).

Clinical research is one of the activities of medical practice, particularly in oncology including radiotherapy. It was developed in the public sector and then in the liberal sector, in compliance with regulatory institutions, resulting in a doubling of inclusions over the last decade. Setting up and developing clinical research in the liberal sector are major axes in terms of interests: improving the proposition of care, access to innovation, to keep patients, intellectual stimulation, encouraging recruitment, activity of scientific publications, financial valorisation, quality of visibility… An inventory on French national territory via the national union of iadiotherapists oncologists (SNRO) and the club of liberal oncologists (Colib) is reported in this article, as well as examples of structuring and organization.
