Pigmentation is orchestrated by hundreds of genes involved in cellular functions going from early developmental fate of pigment cells to melanin synthesis. The Two Pore Channel 2 (TPC2) a Ca2+ and Na+ channel acidifies melanosomal pH and thus inhibits pigmentation. A young patient was recently reported with generalized hypopigmentation but uneventful ocular examination, caused by the de novo heterozygous TPCN2 variant c.

Purpose: To report 8 cases of acute intra ocular inflammation (IOI) following intravitreal injections (IVI) of faricimab in patients with age related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal vein occlusion (RVO) and macular neovascularization associated with chronic central serous retinopathy (CSR).
Methods: This is a multicentric retrospective observational case-series. Cases of acute IOI that occurred in 5 different institutions in France and Italy between November 2023 and June 2024 were reported.

Here we conduct a study involving 12 individuals with retinal dystrophy, neurological impairment, and skeletal abnormalities, with special focus on GPATCH11, a lesser-known G-patch domain-containing protein, regulator of RNA metabolism. To elucidate its role, we study fibroblasts from unaffected individuals and patients carrying the recurring c.328+1 G > T mutation, which specifically removes the main part of the G-patch domain while preserving the other domains.

Purpose: HLA-A29 is the main susceptibility factor for birdshot chorioretinitis (BSCR). Our study assessed the impact of the second HLA-A allele alongside HLA-A29 on BSCR severity and susceptibility, focusing on HLA-A29 homozygous patients and those with alleles from the HLA-Aw19 group.
Methods: We included 120 additional cases to our previous analysis of 286 patients with BSCR, all HLA-A29 positive.

Prcis: Patients' acceptance of glaucoma therapy was high overall in this study, but lower for surgery than for laser or medical therapy. Fear and cost were the leading reasons why patients declined recommended therapy and they were treatment-specific. Cost was the primary reason for declining medical and laser therapy, while fear was the most common reason for declining surgical therapy.

Background/aims: To describe the patterns of pre-operative aberrant regeneration and motility outcomes reported in an international registry of patients with 3-nerve palsy treated with nasal transposition of the split lateral rectus muscle (NTSLR).
Methods: This cross-sectional study used data from an international, multicentre registry of patients with 3-nerve palsy treated with NTSLR. Patients with aberrant regeneration were identified, and patterns of innervation described.

Introduction: The aims of this study were to study ocular biometric data and their association with age and sex in a population of cataract surgery candidates and to assess the proportion of inhomogeneous eyes and the ratio anterior segment (AS) to axial length (AL). Multicentric cross-sectional analysis was conducted between April 2008 and May 2021 in public and private ophthalmic institutions in Montpellier, France. Individuals ≥40 years old who underwent ocular biometry before cataract surgery were included.

APOLLON (NCT02924311) was a prospective observational study to evaluate the effectiveness of intravitreal aflibercept (IVT-AFL) treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME) over 24 months in routine clinical practice in France. The primary endpoint was mean change from baseline in best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA; Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study letters) by 12 months, and safety was monitored throughout the study. Of 402 patients enrolled across 61 participating clinics and hospitals in France, 168 patients were followed for at least 24 months and included in the effectiveness analyses (79 treatment-naïve and 89 previously treated).

Introduction: To evaluate real-life efficacy, safety, and treatment patterns with the dexamethasone intravitreal implant (DEX) in posterior segment inflammation due to non-infectious uveitis (treatment-naïve or not) in French clinics.
Methods: In this prospective, multicenter, observational, non-comparative, post-reimbursement study, consecutive patients with posterior segment inflammation due to non-infectious uveitis were enrolled and evaluated at baseline (day 0). Those who received DEX on day 0 were re-evaluated at months 2, 6, and 18.

Conjunctival tumors are common in tropical areas, where exposure to ultraviolet radiation is high and almost permanent. Malignant tumors are quite rare and the most represented is conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma. We report two cases of invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the conjunctiva received in the ophthalmology department of the Sominé Dolo hospital in Mopti, Mali.
