Background: This study aimed to compare the humoral responses to mRNA COVID-19 vaccination in people living with HIV (PWH) and HIV-negative individuals.
Methods: We included PWH with an undetectable viral load under ART and HIV-negative participants from the French nationwide ANRS COV-POPART cohort who had received two doses of vaccine as a primary vaccination. We compared humoral response between controls and PWH, stratified by CD4 cell count (<200/mm and ≥200/mm CD4 cell counts) at 1, 6, and 12 months after primary vaccination.

Background: Patients with diabetes and obesity are populations at high-risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes and have shown blunted immune responses when administered different vaccines. Here we used the 'ANRS0001S COV-POPART' French nationwide multicenter prospective cohort to investigate early humoral response to COVID-19 vaccination in the sub-cohort ('COVPOP OBEDIAB') of patients with obesity and diabetes.
Methods: Patients with diabetes (n = 390, type 1 or 2) or obesity (n = 357) who had received two vaccine doses and had no history of previous COVID-19 infection and negative anti-nucleocapsid (NCP) antibodies were included and compared against healthy subjects (n = 573).

Objectives: We aimed to investigate the 1-month humoral response to two or three doses of a messenger RNA coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccine as a primary vaccination regimen in specific populations compared with that in healthy adults.
Methods: Agence Nationale Recherche contre le Sida (ANRS)0001S-COV-POPART (NCT04824651) is a French nation-wide, multi-centre, prospective, observational cohort study assessing the immune response to COVID-19 vaccines routinely administered to 11 sub-groups of patients with chronic conditions and two control groups. Patients and controls who received at least two vaccine doses and whose results 1 month after the second dose were available were included.

The individual determinants of vaccine acceptance among health workers (HCWs) have been described in the literature, but there is little evidence regarding the impact of vaccine characteristics and contextual factors (e.g., incentives, communication) on vaccination intentions.

Introduction: Although vaccination against influenza is recommended for pregnant women in France because it exposes them to a risk of death and severe respiratory complications, their vaccination coverage in 2016 was estimated at 7%. This study's principal objective was to assess the association between the availability of influenza vaccination at prenatal care visits and vaccination coverage.
Material And Methods: This multicenter survey took place in 3 Paris-area public hospital (AP-HP) maternity wards (A, B, and C).

Background: Systems vaccinology allows cutting-edge analysis of innate biomarkers of vaccine efficacy. We have been exploring novel strategies to shape the adaptive immune response, by targeting innate immune cells through novel immunization routes.
Methods: This randomized phase I/II clinical study (n=60 healthy subjects aged 18-45 years old) used transcriptomic analysis to discover early biomarkers of immune response quality after transcutaneous (t.

Objectives: Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are at an increased risk of Pneumococcal infections. Immunogenicity and persistence of a prime-boost revaccination strategy using 13-valent/23-valent anti-pneumococcal vaccines was evaluated in patients with RA treated by Methotrexate (MTX) and anti-TNF.
Method: Twenty-four patients with RA received one dose of PCV13 (Prevenar13®; Pfizer) followed two months later by one dose of PPV23 (Pneumovax®, Merck).

Smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) is an asymptomatic clonal plasma cell disorder that frequently progress to multiple myeloma (MM), a disease at high risk of pneumococcal infections. Moreover, if the polysaccharide vaccine is poorly immunogenic in MM, the 13-valent conjugated vaccine has never been tested in clonal plasma cell disorders. We evaluated its immunogenicity for 7 serotypes in 20 patients ≥ 50 years of age with smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) pre and post routine-vaccination with PCV13.

Background: Sub-optimal penetration of antiretroviral drugs in genital compartments might promote local HIV persistence and increase the risk of HIV transmission.
Objectives: To describe the penetration of maraviroc, raltegravir, raltegravir glucuronide and rilpivirine in seminal plasma and cervico-vaginal secretions (CVS) and to assess local antiretroviral efficacy in HIV-1-positive patients.
Methods: This was a prospective, multicentre study.

Background: Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) syndrome is a rare, severe adverse event during treatment with raltegravir. The occurrence of DRESS syndrome during treatment with other drugs is strongly associated with particular HLA alleles.
Methods: We performed HLA testing in 3 of the 5 patients previously reported to have developed raltegravir-induced DRESS syndrome and in 1 previously unreported patient.
SUMMARYThe explosion of vaccines during the 20th century allowed the control of numerous infectious plagues but multiple challenges oppose conservation and extension of these successes. The hesitation of modern societies in front of vaccinations requires researches in life, human and social sciences in order to reach a better understanding of vaccines mechanism of action and to improve the tolerance and acceptability of vaccines and additives. The ageing of the populations and the increase of subjects at risk also require to improve the immunogenicity and the efficiency of existing vaccines.

Since 2008, French nurses have been allowed to vaccinate against influenza without medical prescription. Our survey aimed at assessing nursing students' knowledge and perception of this prerogative. Among 213 responders, 61% were aware of this matter, and 47.

The dynamics of genital shedding of HSV-2 DNA was assessed in HIV-1-infected women taking combination antiretroviral therapy (cART). HIV-1 RNA, HIV-1 DNA and HSV DNA loads were measured during 12-18 months using frozen plasma, PBMC and cervicovaginal lavage samples from 22 HIV-1-infected women, including 17 women naive for antiretroviral therapy initiating cART and 5 women with virological failure switching to a new regimen. Nineteen (86%) women were HSV-2-seropositive.

Seasonal flu is potentially more severe during pregnancy especially when it occurs in the last three months. Pregnant women were shown to be especially exposed to severe forms of the flu and death in the first weeks of the pandemic influenza A/H1N1v. For the first time in history, adequate vaccines were available in the early phase of the pandemic and recommended by WHO as a priority for pregnant women.
