Median Nerve Palsy after Shoulder Dislocation in a 10-year-old Girl: A Case Report.

Introduction: Traumatic glenohumeral dislocation is very rare in skeletally immature patients, and there are no reports in the literature describing the risk of associated nerve injuries. In the general population, the most commonly affected nerve is the axillary, but anatomical variations with a common origin between the musculocutaneous and median nerves exist that alter the respective positions and courses of these nerves and can make them more prone to injury during a glenohumeral dislocation.

Case Report: A 10-year-old girl presented with incomplete median nerve palsy without any recuperation 8 months after an anterior glenohumeral dislocation.

Intraosseous Nontraumatic Median Nerve Entrapment at the Elbow: A Case Report.

Intraosseous median nerve entrapment at the level of the elbow can occur after a traumatic event such as fracture and/or dislocation of the elbow. It is considered a rare and severe entity. We present a rare case of nontraumatic median nerve entrapment inside the distal humerus.

Phalangeal sarcoidosis - A rare case report.

We report a case of a 57-year-old woman who presented a rapidly progressing swelling at the base of her right 4th finger, with imaging revealing non-specific lesions suggestive of a malignant tumoral process. Following imaging, resection-biopsy revealed a non-caseating granulomatous inflammatory infiltrate suggesting sarcoidosis. Digital sarcoidosis is an uncommon presentation of the disease, especially in the early stages and without systemic symptoms.

Idiopathic constrictive neuropathy of common palmar digital nerve: A case report.

Neuropathy of the digital nerves of the hand are very uncommon. Few studies dealt with spontaneous atraumatic digital nerve palsy. Repetitive micro-traumatisms and anatomical variants were implicated in nerve compression.

In-office shoulder arthroscopy and tenotomy of the long head of the biceps tendon-a cadaveric feasibility study.

Purpose: Studies have shown that isolated tenotomy of the long head of the biceps (LHB) improves significantly pain scores, active range of motion and Constant score in elderly patients with massive and irreparable cuff tears with no osteoarthritis. This cadaveric study was performed to assess the feasibility of a tenotomy of the LHB and subacromial corticosteroid injection using a minimally invasive in-office setting under local anaesthesia on awake patients.

Suprascapular Nerve Partial Section by the Transverse Scapular Ligament: One Case.

We present a case of suprascapular nerve idiopathic total palsy lasting for 2 years, with intraoperative finding of suprascapular nerve partial section by the superior transverse scapular ligament. This highlights the importance of early surgical management with an open procedure for suprascapular neuropathy of unknown etiology.

Reanimation of elbow extension with intercostal nerves transfers in total brachial plexus palsies.

Background: Restoration of flexion in the elbow is the priority in the management of brachial plexus injuries. Current techniques of reconstructions, combining both nerve grafting and nerve transfer, allow more extensive repair, with additional targets: shoulder, elbow extension, hand. The transfer of intercostal nerves onto the nerve of the triceps long head is used to restore elbow extension.

The importance of a double team in brachial plexus surgery.

Aim: Brachial plexus surgery constitutes a long and complex procedure. The aim of our study is to assess the interest of having a double operating team throughout the duration of this surgery.

Patients And Methods: Seventeen patients with brachial plexus palsy underwent surgery operated by a double team.

Management of hand palsies in isolated C7 to T1 or C8, T1 root avulsions.

Thirteen patients were operated on for hand palsies in cases of C7 to T1 or C8, T1 root avulsions. Finger flexion and intrinsic function were paralyzed in all patients. Finger extension was paralyzed in 12 patients.

Capitolunate arthrodesis with compression screws.

Scapholunate dissociation or scaphoid pseudarthrosis may lead to wrist osteoarthritis. When osteoarthritis concerns the midcarpal joint, proximal row carpectomy is not possible. Only 4-corner or capitolunate arthrodesis may be indicated.

However, only a few publications have described this technique for treatment of osteoarthritis of the scapho-trapezio-trapezoid (STT) joint. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the results of triscaphoid arthrodesis for STT osteoarthritis with a long-term follow-up.

Extensor tenodesis for plexic hands with C7 to T1 or C8, T1 root avulsions: a new technique.

In C7 to T1 or C8, T1 root avulsion palsies, restoration of finger active extension is not possible. Only tenodesis may restore hand opening in active wrist flexion. Many techniques have been described to restore this motion.
