Interrelationships between interventricular electrical delays in cardiac resynchronization therapy.

Introduction: In cardiac resynchronization therapy, pacing the left ventricle (LV) at sites of prolonged electrical delay is associated with better outcomes. We sought to characterize the interrelationships between intrinsic, right-ventricular (RV)-paced, and LV-paced interventricular delays.

Methods And Results: The following electrical timings were measured at implantation for all electrodes of the LV quadripolar leads: QLV, interventricular delay in intrinsic rhythm (RVs-LVs), in RV-paced rhythm (RVp-LVs), and in LV-paced rhythm (LVp-RVs).

Long-term outcomes after acute myocardial infarction in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia: The French registry of Acute ST-elevation and non-ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction program.

Background: Patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) are prone to develop acute myocardial infarction (AMI) at a younger age.

Objectives: The aim of the present study was to assess 5-year outcomes after AMI according to the presence of FH in a large multicenter cohort of patients.

Methods: The French registry of Acute ST-elevation and non-ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction consists of nationwide surveys recruiting patients over a 1- to 2-month period every 5 years.

Safety profile of subcutaneous trastuzumab in patients with HER2-positive early breast cancer: The French HERmione non-interventional prospective study.

Objectives: HERmione study was conducted to assess, in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive early breast cancer (eBC), the safety profile of subcutaneous (SC) formulation of trastuzumab in real-life in France.

Materials And Methods: This prospective, non-interventional study included 511 patients planned to be treated in both neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings with a follow-up of 12 months maximum in 101 sites. The safety analyses concerned 505 patients.

Severe leptospirosis in non-tropical areas: a nationwide, multicentre, retrospective study in French ICUs.

Purpose: To report the incidence, risk factors, clinical presentation, and outcome predictors of severe leptospirosis requiring intensive care unit (ICU) admission in a temperate zone.

Methods: LEPTOREA was a retrospective multicentre study conducted in 79 ICUs in metropolitan France. Consecutive adults admitted to the ICU for proven severe leptospirosis from January 2012 to September 2016 were included.

Occurrence of significant long PR intervals in patients implanted for sinus node dysfunction and monitored with SafeR™: The PRECISE study.

Background: Long PR intervals may increase cardiovascular complications, including atrial fibrillation. In pacemakers, the SafeR™ mode monitors PR intervals, switching from AAI to DDD when criteria for atrioventricular block are met.

Aims: The PRECISE study evaluated the incidence and predictors of long PR intervals and their association with incident atrial fibrillation after 1 year in patients implanted for sinus node dysfunction and free from significant conduction disorders at baseline.

[Distinctive tabard: A solution to avoid work interruptions in the blood transfusion?].

Aim: In the blood transfusion, the interruption of work (IW) can lead to serious incidents and/or adverse effects. The aim of our work is to evaluate the wearing of a distinctive tabard in the IW.

Methods: Several voluntary departments from 5 establishments of health in the Center-Val de Loire region have participated in this work from October to December 2017.

Long-term Quality of Life in Adult Patients Surviving Purpura Fulminans: An Exposed-Unexposed Multicenter Cohort Study.

Background: Long-term health-related quality of life (HR-QOL) of patients surviving the acute phase of purpura fulminans (PF) has not been evaluated.

Methods: This was a French multicenter exposed-unexposed cohort study enrolling patients admitted in 55 intensive care units (ICUs) for PF from 2010 to 2016. Adult patients surviving the acute phase of PF (exposed group) were matched 1:1 for age, sex, and Simplified Acute Physiology Score II with septic shock survivors (unexposed group).

Prenatal therapy with pyrimethamine + sulfadiazine vs spiramycin to reduce placental transmission of toxoplasmosis: a multicenter, randomized trial.

Background: The efficacy of prophylaxis to prevent prenatal toxoplasmosis transmission is controversial, without any previous randomized clinical trial. In France, spiramycin is usually prescribed for maternal seroconversions. A more potent pyrimethamine + sulfadiazine regimen is used to treat congenital toxoplasmosis and is offered in some countries as prophylaxis.

Everolimus drug-eluting stent performance in patients with long coronary lesions: The multicenter Longprime registry.

Objectives: To assess the efficacy and safety of the Xience Prime everolimus-eluting stent (EES) in long coronary lesions in a real-world population.

Background: Long lesions are considered difficult technically and in terms of achieving successful clinical outcomes. With first generation DES, MACE can be as high as 10% at a short-medium term follow-up.

[Adverse events in neonatology, contribution of a standardised register].

Despite the recommendation to report all adverse events to the risk management unit, such reporting is far from consistent. An internal, standardised register of adverse events, was put in place in a neonatology unit for six months. An analysis of the reports has led to the reorganisation of the unit and practices as part of a drive to improve the quality of care.

Treatment of drug-eluting stents in-stent restenosis with paclitaxel-coated balloon angioplasty: Insights from the French "real-world" prospective GARO Registry.

Background: Data about paclitaxel-eluting balloon (PCB) angioplasty to treat drug-eluting stents (DES) in-stent restenosis (ISR) were mainly collected in selected patient populations in the setting of randomized trials. The main goal of this prospective registry was to confirm the positive findings of these studies in an unselected population in clinical practice.

Methods: Consecutive patients with DES-ISR treated by PCB angioplasty were recruited in this prospective real-world registry.
